  1. Pre-season? You do remember that the Euros is happening this summer, right? There's no chance Werner or anyone else participating in the tournament will get a full pre-season with Tuchel and the rest. All could potentially get only 1-2 weeks of pre-season or none at all after their holiday, depending on how far their nations go in the tournament.
  2. Am just saying what has been reported. Who knows what could happen if Inter's financial situations worsens? If they have to sell players to balance the books, then do you think Conte will just be happy to sit around, seeing players being sold and potentially not being able to buy anyone?
  3. For starters, Werner would have to want to leave for the swap deal being a possibility but latest indications are that he doesn't want to leave especially after only a season, and he said he joined us to win trophies. That's also without mentioning that previous reports suggest Haaland doesn't want to join us. Also, the talk of this swap deal is "interesting". While Werner may be classified as a striker, he is definitely not an out-and-out #9 or central striker like Haaland is. When Haaland leaves, I suspect Dortmund might go for someone like Andre Silva instead. Agree on getting any striker anyway but the question, which proven striker can we get? If we can't get Haaland, then who else? Lukaku may be a possibility if Inter's financial situation worsens but otherwise, there's a lack of top strikers out there. If all else fails, think Tuchel might play Havertz as the False 9 instead, something that he has spoken about and done several times.
  4. It could be a possibility if Inter's financial position gets worse and Conte leaves.
  5. You're the one who assumed it that way. Don't put words in my mouth.
  6. I see a change of tune from you from last summer. 🤣
  7. I only mentioned the finishing part in that post because you kept on talking about it and I thought you wanted to go on a whole 10-page long debate again! lol
  8. Where have I explicitly said this? All I've been talking about in the last hour is his finishing, not even whether he should start or not. Am just baffled by open goal misses like today, even taking into account his misses in the past.
  9. When did I backtrack? I have always mentioned about his performances in past discussions. I had hoped that he would eventually find his goalscoring touch again but when you see misses like tonight's, it's hard to maintain that hope. Whatever I've been saying tonight has been about his misses. Totally two different aspects of him.
  10. In terms of performances, yes. Different story in terms of finishing.
  11. The ironic thing about that is, only Lewandowski missed more than Werner last season (25) and yet, the numbers weren't too different but would anyone say Lewandowski is a big chance bottler? Lewandowski has also missed 20 big chances this season but still gets enough chances to rack up 35 league goals.
  12. Whatever I've been saying here over the last hour or so is about Werner's finishing, not his performances. His performances have been alright, he did what Tuchel asked of him. It's his finishing aka the misses that it's just...I don't know what to say. It's one thing to, say, not scoring with the keeper making a save on the shot or something but it's another to just miss an open goal like today.
  13. Low made only 1 change to the starting XI across the 3 games and he complained about tiredness after the loss to Macedonia. I mean...
  14. It's not all about the space fa...aah never mind...
  15. It would be a miracle if this team can create more chances in the first place.
  16. Were we not mainly arguing about his performances? His performances of late aren't exactly the issue. It's the finishing. He has had shocking misses but they weren't happening every game. But the longer he goes on without getting back into some kind of goalscoring form, the more he misses chances like today, then even I have to go "WTF TIMO!?" because there's no way one can defend that.
  17. Don't think this is exactly what you're looking for but last season, Werner had 117 shots and scored 28 league goals from an xG of 22.3. For context, Lewandowski scored 34 league goals from 134 shots and an xG of 27.5 last season. This season, Werner has had 62 shots and scored 5 league goals from an xG of 9.8.
  18. They also need to know where to be, to score the goals. It's not all just pace here.
  19. What I'm saying it's the know-how on the finishing. Yes, the finishing is inconsistent but regardless of how many chances he got in the Bundesliga, he still didn't score 90+ goals for Leipzig by being a poor finisher. You still need to know how to put away those chances. Otherwise, every Tom, Dick and Harry would have scored loads of goals in the Bundesliga.
  20. Why do you think I mentioned he needs to see a sports psychologist or do something similar? I used his past stats as a proof that he knows how to score. The know-how is there, somewhere. The finishing was inconsistent in the past but now, it's just a trainwreck.
  21. The amount of space or lack of it isn't the issue. Even if one gets space to score, they still gotta know how to put the ball in the back of the net. Although inconsistent, he's shown that he can finish before but everything is a car crash right now.
  22. On another note, is anyone gonna talk about Rudiger's defending for Macedonia's 2nd goal?
  23. He didn't score all the goals because he had lots of space to score. The finishing is inconsistent but if you see the goals that he scored, the kind of finishes with those goals, you can see the know-how is there. But now? It's like the "wires" in his head just get tangled up whenever there's a chance to score.
  24. I am aware of the misses but the point is, he didn't score 90+ goals in 4 seasons by accidents, meaning he knows how to finish at the very least even if it's not very consistent. But this...missing an open goal???
