  1. Lukaku to Juventus would be hilarious from a narrative POV.
  2. I find it weird that Havertz is not being questioned at the very least. We spent 70 million+ on him to be what exactly? To be a goalscorer? Doesn't score enough goals. To be a goal creator? Doesn't really create much either. Is he really just a 70 million+ player that shows good touches, good linkup plays etc?
  3. For all the stick that Werner gets, his pace and movement would have at least offered avenues upfront for us in games like today. He was, after all, a key part in our success against City last season. Not saying we would have beaten City again but he would have certainly offered more than any of the front 3 and whatever the hell our game plan was today. We had a winning formula but that has gone out of the window with Lukaku this season. Mount not starting was probably a surprise but then again, he was poor against Spurs in midweek. So maybe it's not a surprise. Agreed on Havertz but again, he hasn't exactly done much either. So maybe it's not a surprise either, especially if Tuchel is gonna shoehorn Lukaku into the XI.
  4. Watching today's game, I some times don't understand what Tuchel is trying to do. In big games where Werner shouldn't be starting, he plays him from the start (e.g. vs Man United this season). In big games where Werner should start, he doesn't start him (e.g. vs City today). None of today's front 3 offered any sort of movement upfront. 2 of them preferred the ball to feet while the other 1 arguably preferred the ball into space but we kept playing into feet. City's high back line was comfortable pretty much for the entire game.
  5. Might as well contact Conte...
  6. It's worth pointing out that The Athletic article that person quoted from made ZERO mention of Southampton wanting to sign Broja on a permanent basis. Hasenhuttl didn't say it either. So, it could still be a loan deal for another season. Unless Tuchel intends to play with 2 upfront permanently or is not going to try and play Lukaku in every game, it's best Broja is loaned out for another season. Getting the odd game time here and there isn't going to help his development. We also still got Werner and Havertz who can play as the ST and unlike Broja, those two can at least play other positions to not block his path.
  7. And it has been postponed. The rules are a fucking joke at this point. They were created to help clubs if there's a COVID outbreak but now, clubs are just abusing it whenever they have injuries, players away at AFCON etc. Arsenal supposedly have only ONE positive case and the rest of their absentees are due to injuries, suspensions and players away at AFCON and now, they have got the fixture postponed.
  8. 4 games against City and Liverpool this season and only gained 2 points from 12. Down from 6 last season.
  9. Not saying we would beat City every time but last season, we had a winning formula against Guardiola - the same/similar winning formula that we have had against him for years - and this season, in trying to shoehorn Lukaku in, we have had to throw that formula out of the window, come up with something that doesn't even represent a winning formula and have barely laid a glove against City.
  10. We played 69 games in 2012/13, which I believe is the most in a season in the club's history. We would be playing at least 57 games this season. All depends on the progress in the FA Cup and Champions League.
  11. Reaching the final means the league game against Leicester will be rescheduled. The final is a few days after the CL first leg against Lille.
  12. I get that tonight was all about managing the game, especially after going 3-0 up on aggregate, but christ, we spent so much of the game just passing sideways and backwards. Gave Spurs unnecessary encouragement on several occasions.
  13. For all the recent improvement of Saul, he really needs to stop diving into challenges. Did it 2-3 times against Spurs the other day and got away with them. Did it very early against Chesterfield and got carded for it.
  14. Guess Tuchel's strong line-up paid off. Made sure there was no fuck-up and could just coast through the game after 20 minutes. Hall very impressive on his debut and watching from the TV, he looks a tad similar to Werner. lol Shame no clean sheet but a moment for Chesterfield to remember, I suppose.

  16. Liking this new, aggressive Tomo. 🤣
  17. We still have Gallagher and Gilmour to come back.
  18. Are you a tennis fan? And the drama is now gonna drag on with the court set to decide the appeal on Monday.
  19. Yes, he did, back in September. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/12420477/ngolo-kante-Chelsea-midfielder-tests-positive-for-coronavirus Kinda crazy that he got it so fast again.
  20. Gonna bite here. Is every chance that Werner doesn't put away gonna be met with that kind of reaction without any context? I'm also of the opinion that he should have scored (perhaps hit it low) but at the same time, the chance wasn't as easy as it looked. Tanganga (think it was him) was putting pressure from behind and then Lloris came out quickly to close him down. It was more down to good goalkeeping than a shocking miss (which many elsewhere also saw it).
