  1. Fair result and decent performance. The only frustrating thing is we saw plenty of the ball in the second half but did nothing with it. That Drogba effort was the only notable one but otherwise, nothing. That said, we did what we needed to do and avoided defeat to stay 10 points clear. Six more points needed from last 5 games.

  4. Mourinho channeling his inner-Guardiola. This should be fun...
  5. Bamford won the Championship Player of the Year award but not in Team of the Year.
  6. I really don't know how you can think Fabregas is the sole reason for our sub-par performances this year.
  7. Errrr........... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/9697294/transfer-news-southampton-have-signed-ryan-bertrand-on-a-four-and-a-half-year-deal
  8. Well, that part is down to interpretation. It's not a fact. To say we only played well because of Fabregas is absolute nonsense. There are other several factors as to why our performances have dropped off in 2015.
  9. Has Ivanovic really impressed Mourinho or is Mourinho just being stubbornly loyal to him? He has made so many mistakes this season and yet still get to play every week. Other players have been kicked out of the team for less than that.
  10. This. And are people seriously going to 'cry' over 1-goal margin victories? People are acting as if the big teams don't win games by the odd goal in a season. All the big teams have that every year and yet from the constant moaning, you would think we are the only ones winning by 1 goal and doing so in every game. What's worse is that, it feels people have forgotten what happened in the first half of the season when we were blowing teams away and winning 2-0s (bigger margin wins). It's like they are only looking at the second half of the campaign and use it to justify whatever perception they have formed beforehand on Mourinho - to say he's being defensive, only bother with winning games 1-0 etc.
  11. I'm sorry but Cahill and Ivanovic? And Coutinho??
  12. Feeling the same here but a defeat is by no means a disaster. The only annoying thing is we have to get more points to seal the title and probably endure some nervy moments in the remaining five games.
  13. On playing for Chelsea... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wally-meets-patrick-bamford-championship-5579502
  14. Ivanovic doesn't even suit Guardiola's playing style to begin with. The media being clueless again I guess.
  15. Somebody needs to be sacked if we end up with another transfer ban.
  16. First it was Rodgers and now it's Wenger. Sometimes you just wonder if managers are taking the piss or just being plain ignorant when they say 'defending is easy'. In Wenger's case, it's even worse coming from him when his team conceded 6 at the Bridge, 6 at City, 5 at Liverpool and 8 at United.

  19. Michael Oliver will be the referee for this game. The last time he officiated our game was against Hull. He was also the referee who officiated our League Cup second leg tie against Liverpool. And for the midweek game against Leicester, Mark Clattenburg will be in charge of that one.
  20. Thierry Henry actually criticised Hernandez for his goal celebration last night. What a joke!
  21. The Europa League winner will head directly into the group stage if the team that win the Champions League have qualified for the competition via the league. Otherwise, they'll have to go through the play-off round - http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2215121.html. They'll then be seeded according to their coefficient ranking. Since we have Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Real Madrid in the CL semis this season, it means the Europa League winner will go directly into the group stage as those four teams have qualified for next season's CL via the league. On the other hand, if the Champions League winner is also the champions of one of the top seven European leagues, then the final spot in Pot 1 will go to the 8th highest ranked-country.
  22. What difference does it make even if they had lost a midfielder/defender? They would still make a change to replace that midfielder/defender and we'll still face the same situation. Regardless of who got sent off though, it still doesn't change the fact that we were poor on that night. Rather than playing like a team with the man advantage, we played like one with the disadvantage. We barely troubled them for the 120 minutes while they looked more threatening and had the better chances with 10 men. We might still have exited the competition but if we're going to go out, then I would at least want my team to put in a good performance and not crash out without any fight.
