Can someone show me an example of where Sturridge 'cried' and 'moaned' about playing CF? All he said was that he sees himself as a CF in the future but at the moment was happy playing wing. But it is Sturridge speaking so of course he's moaning and he's lazy and all the other overused stereotypes associated with him.

Can't take much from that game - and that's not just Torres as well. Things like Luiz in midfield, and even though Hazard's dribbling was world class, this is a team he could pretty comfortably rip apart.

This annoyed me no end. Ramires was the one with the ball, and Ivan made the much better run, timing it right. All Ramires had to do was either slide it to Ivan, for a clear shot on goal, or go to his left, as the defender was going right, preoccupied with Ivanovic. But instead, he seemed to remember that Torres scoring is the ultimatum - he went out of his way to pick out Torres, a much worse option. Not even just because it was Torres, it was a harder pass, and he was further from goal, less likely to score. And, because it was Torres, of course he fluffed his lines and sent it to Row Z. We treat him like a baby sometimes. Maybe next time we get a penalty we should let him take it, patronise him more.

His contract, being a Bosman, has lots of different clauses for City that we're/we've paying/payed off. It's possible that that one of the clauses was for the player, adding a year to his contract - the media appear to be unanimous in that his contract isn't ending in summer. It could be a mistake, but the same also happened for Kalou I believe, who stayed a year longer than he 'should' have at some point

Against City there was a moment where Cole had the ball on the left, and Torres was in the box, occupying the two CBs. Then he actually moved to the very far corner of the pitch, where Hazard already was. I genuinely think at that time he was literally hiding from the ball, cancelling himself out as an option. What exactly can we do if Mata, Oscar and Hazard can't provide for him? Maybe we should go for Iniesta, Messi and Ronaldo next time.

Torres is on 170k a week *gulp* Torres was actually abysmal against City. He was much worse than his own terrible standards, I still can't get over how bad he was. His movement was zero all game. That was what annoyed me the most. He was pïss poor on the ball as well, but at least if he had good movement it would be a bad performance and not atrocious. We need Sturridge back ASAP.

I would compare him more to Aguero in style, more pacy then Rooney and more direct. Very good goalscorer but could also play slightly deeper as a goal threat from...deep.
