I'm pretty sure he was trying to make a point to a stubborn board who were not prepared to improve the squad at the time. I was glad he had the bollocks to say something where other managers would have stayed being the yes man.
He publicly disrespected a Chelsea manager, a manager who won him a PL title in his first season. Scroll up and you can see some of the pictures. He also sulked and stropped on the pitch for many games, thinking he is bigger and better than what he is. Absolute clown.
I reckon Frank told Werner, Ziyech and Havertz that they along with Mount, Pulisic ect are the new era at Chelsea that can emulate Drogba, Lamps, Terry and co. That was probably what made them want to be here as much as anything else.
English players don't really have a glamorous feel to their interviews and presence in general. Pretty dull personalities are English footballers. You do have the odd exception here and there like Ian Wright or Peter Crouch. All that matters, is what they do on the pitch. Let's hope Chillwells feet do the talking.
This will be Franks biggest challange... being able to fit all of these players into the same starting eleven. The one thing that stands out as a problem to me is Havertz abd Ziyech both liking to play in the same area of the pitch, on the right side. Pulisic and Werner seem to be most effective starting from the left. I hope this doesn't become a problem.
