http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/26/wayne-rooney-david-moyes-juan-mata-deal? Mata, in line to make his debut against Cardiff City on Tuesday, is expected to be the only major arrival at Old Trafford in the January window despite their extensive search for new players. United's information is that Luke Shaw, the Southampton left-back, would prefer a move to Chelsea and the club's scouting of Internazionale's Fredy Guarín has left them unsure about exactly how good the midfielder is.

Matic is everywhere. What a player!
-
Silky skills by ivanovic.. LOL
-
Another interception by matic!
-
Matic is having an excellent game
-
His position is AM, at the moment. But majority of people think he'll become a box to box midfielder in the future.
-
I love mata, but we're a better team without him. I we use the money to buy Zouma/Shaw/Costa, we'll be the much better team in the long run.
-
How the game go today...
-
Feel Barkley will ultimately become a box to box midfielder. Would be perfect in a 4-3-3 Matic - Ramires - Barkley Pace and power in that midfield
-
hhahahha united losing!!!
-
Can we get one thing straight, the majority of us aren't upset that Mata is getting sold. We understand that he doesn't fit jose's system. What we are angry about is him getting sold to united. They are declining as a club and we just sell them Mata to kick start there season? Only in Chelsea. If Mata gets them top 4, you can bet your house that they'll go big in the next transfer window and they'll be right back challenging for major honours.
-
What? It's hardly fair if Mata has ONE bad game, he goes to the bench for the next 3, if Oscar has a bad game, he starts the very next match. How is that Giving Mata a chance? It's pure favoritism, simple.
-
At people who are happy about this. Will you be laughing next year if mata leads united to the title?
-
Damn.. If you ask anyone, most would say mata would be here for the rest of his career. Can you say the same about oscar/haard?
-
Newsapers saying Mata won't be sold unless he talks to Mourinho personally.... He's basically getting his excuses in early 'Mata wanted to leave, i couldn't stop him'....
-
Selling him to united though? It's arrogant of us to think united won't come back stronger next season, so why make it easier for them by selling mata?

The victory is really valuable since we saw, on Saturday, that two of our big rivals this season are also very strong: Manchester City and Arsenal. City have a big attacking power, whereas Arsenal won thanks to a great performance from my friend Santi Cazorla. He’s got plenty of quality and he can destabilise any game, like he did this weekend. Last week we only had one game, so we had time for training with no trips in between. We have a new team mate: Nemanja Matic. I have played twice against him in the last few years, when we faced Benfica, and he’s been with Chelsea in the past, so he knows this place. His adaptation has been quick, he even played yesterday in such an intense and vital game. I think he is a very complete midfielder with a brilliant future ahead. On the other hand, Kevin De Bruyne is gone. He is a good player and team mate, so I’m sure he will success in Wolfsburg. I haven’t seen many footballers with such a great right foot… Another good friend will try his luck in a Premier League club:Ryan Bertrand in Aston Villa. With this move he will have more minutes of play so we will prove what a fantastic player he is. Good luck, my friend! Does this seems like a guy wanting to leave?

Mata still managed to update his blog yesterday? Interesting. http://blogs.grada360.com/juanmata/en/2014/01/20/el-dia-de-etoo/

Kinda feel he'll move to madrid in 2/3 years time.
-
This whole £30m price tag came from a metro article. Don't believe for one second he'll go for that much. Also, if his heart is only set on chelsea, it doesn't matter what city/united offer.
-
To be fair, i'd rather shaw, personally. A lot of fans have a connection with him alreay, being born in kingston upon thames, supports chelsea and english. If the difference is only £5m between the two, it's shaw every time for me.
-
How much do you think rodriguez will cost? We aren't talking about a club in financial difficulty..
-
Who's to say Rodriguez won't cost £20m+? This isn't a club who needs to sell...
-
Jose seems to think having an english core is important. ‘I like that local core, not just in England but when I’ve worked in Portugal, Spain and Italy,’ the Chelsea boss told The Guardian. ‘You owe some respect to the country and the national team, so to give some options for them is important. ‘To keep the culture of the country in your own team’s style is also very important, and you cannot lose characteristics of the local football. ‘Ideally it’s not just about having British players either, but having players who are made in Chelsea. In three or four years’ time, if we don’t have other Englishmen to replace this nucleus of players – when Lamps is 39, John is 36– I will be very sad. Every club needs that.’

Rather buy Shaw, to be honest.
