  1. To the tune of Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis So, Arsene can waitHe knows it too late; he sees Chelsea go byThis Blue life is great"But don't look back at Wenger," I heard you say
  2. Every year he seems to become better and better. He is maturing like a fine wine, and continues to impress us with his desire and commitment.
  3. In fairness, 2-0 is the least we deserved. I didn't watch the game but listened to the commentary on talkSport, who are normally quite anti-Chelsea. They said throughout that we dominated for large periods of the game save for a ten minute spell where Sunderland kept the ball but failed to test Cudicini. We were desperately unlikely not to be given a first half penalty, although I believe that is partly the reason why we were given one late in the game, in my opinion. Not the greatest of performances, as all Sunderland could hope for would have been a 0-0 draw, they defended well with many people behind the ball but couldn't cope with Shevchenko today - I have to say he impressed me greatly from the commentary as he was chasing the ball all over the park. I will watch Match of the Day with greatest of interests, and write up the match report when I see some extended highlights.
  4. If we signed Ronaldinho, I think Drogba would stay. Imagine the service he would get into his feet
  5. Unlikely to happen, and I believe he will be cup-tied. But if that means a couple of million off of the price tag, I wouldn't say no. He'd have to change his hairdo, though
  6. Oooh, Ballack back in two weeks. That's the best news I have heard in months.
  7. There is little to notice under Grant. The football, or moreso the mentality, is still the same. Yet I feel if we were under José, when 2-0 up I think he'd ask us to make the game safe rather than put it to bed, whilst the players now have the freedom to continue to attack.
  8. So you chose to ignore my post I believe he is taking today out to be ready for a midweek return against Valencia. But now Carlo is getting a run in the team, I don't think he should just walk back in. He needs to prove in training he can reclaim his spot. Carlo might be deputising, but he's been bloody brilliant for us these last five games.
  9. Mate - these topics belong in the Rumours forum
  10. This should be merged with the topic we already have on the player, no need to have two Spending £20 million on a kid is an absolute joke.
  11. Chelsea F.C. versus C.F ValenciaChelsea will look to progress to the next round of the Champions League is some style when they face a struggling Valencia side on Tuesday. Valencia have struggled to come to terms with European football this season whilst also suffering domestically. After suffering three consecutive defeats at home to Chelsea and Rosenborg, and also an away thumping to the Norwegian side, Valencia cannot progress, but will look to gain a UEFA Cup spot nonetheless. However, if Schalke record a home victory against Rosenborg and Chelsea defeat the Spanish giants, it will be the German team who progresses and Rosenborg who enter the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.Discuss here, and don't forget to predict in the Prediction League!
  12. Some team news Chelsea - the Blues are without long-term absentees Michael Ballack, Ricardo Carvalho and Paulo Ferreira. Petr Cech is unable to return in time from a calf injury and Carlo Cudicini will therefore continue to deputise in goal. Michael Essien is subject to the second game of his three-match suspension and Didier Drogba will miss both today's and Tuesday's clash with Valencia due to a knee injury. Florent Malouda is also a doubt.Sunderland - the Black Cats will see Craig Gordon relegated to the bench as Darren Ward continues after impressing between the posts against Derby County last weekend. Exciting winger Carlos Edwards is a certainty to miss out today, and Anthony Stokes looks to continue his run in the team. Nosworthy, Anderson and Kieron Richars also face a spell on the sidelines.
  13. Are you at a place called Vertigo, by any chance?
  14. I doubt Sunderland will get a hiding. I'd like to see one, but I can only see it being 2-0 personally.Welcome
  15. Cech is out for tomorrow, so Cudicini looks to make it three clean sheets on the bounce in the league
  16. You occassionally get players like Mikel who want to make huge impressions on the game. He is young and wants to impress, it is hardly surprising he goes into every challenge commited. It isn't his temper, its just he is often a little too keen to get involved, IMO
  17. I see your point, but it depends how you look at it. There are no quotes where he has actually said "Mourinho is a poor coach, I will win Chelsea more than he ever could," or something similar. So whilst he may be making slight digs at TSO, he may not.
  18. Well I may have been vague, but I would have made the assumption that the members would be able to read between the lines of what I was saying. Nevermind, let's not make a fuss over nothing.
  19. 1-1 full-time, exactly as I predicted this morning
  20. Marseille did really poorly at the beginning of the season, but they've been revived ever since defeating Liverpool at Anfield. Even beat Lyon 2-1 at the Stade Gerland! Lyon beat Strasbourg 5-0 Benzema scored again, Juninho scored with one freekick and hit the post with another and the crossbar with a third!
  21. The FA on the whole are a laughing stock, might as well continue the trend.
  22. I see your point, but I don't really know what to think of things. Personally, I think if anyone should be accused of belittling Mourinho, it would most likely be Abramovich.
  23. But who would you play on the opposite flank? Joe, Malouda, Kalou or SWP?
  24. I've not really seen enough of him, but I am told he is a pacey player in the Kalou mould. Would be something for the future, I feel, but I'm not sure at the moment as we need a striker who is already a proven goalscorer.
