  1. I disagree, his goal against Stoke won us the game, effectively, and many of his goals have put us in the comfort zone that have gone on to allow us to express ourselves.
  2. You're just being nasty, now Well that works two ways - we can rest Drogba against the likes of Bolton, let Anelka grab a couple and everyone is happy.
  3. Spot on, he's young and therefore has many years to improve. He's arguably as good as Robben ever was for us at his best and he has bags of potential.
  4. Tri-Blue's thread ('Bargain Hunting') has made me think of BS as a perfect candidate for a signing. He's young, lightning-quick, is a top crosser of a ball and has a hammer of a shot on him - and it would all be for free as well. Thoughts?
  5. Schweinsteiger is out of contract at Bayern in the summer. We can get him in on a free in January, and then he can join us in June. Would be a class signing.
  6. At the end of the day, strikers are judged on their goals scored. If Anelka nets 20 + this season, it would be impossible to deny that he has had a top season - if all his goals are tap ins then we can be thankful we have a forward with fantastic instincts.
  7. I think on paper, Drogba is the better striker but Anelka is certainly doing the business this season. I admit he goes missing at times but he has scored nine goals already and that is nothing to be sniffed at. I doubt Anelka and Drogba would be partnered up front considering our formation is working brilliantly, although I could see the formation changed very slightly in that we keep the 4-1-4-1, but instead of having the two free players acting as wide men, we could draft them behind Drogba and go for what would be a 4-1-2-2-1 formation, with Anelka and Kalou playing off Didier, which could be a tactic we could use when we are chasing the game, but otherwise, I would go with Drogba, but having Anelka is certainly a top option - if both could get 20 goals this season, it would help us no end.
  8. Aye, I take back what I said, it shows not everything they print is pure crap. However, they have assumed the only reason we have got rid of the scouts is to reduce the amount of money spent, but sacking 15 people who earn less than 100K per year isn't going to save much more than £1.5 million per annum.
  9. Have a safe time, everyone. Rome is an absolutely stunning place, and I wish everyone who goes there has a safe and enjoyable trip, but do be careful, the Italian police don't take any shit.
  10. I think he signed a four year deal when he arrived in 2006, which means he is in his last year of contract next season. Don't quote me on that though.
  11. Yeah, a lot of the credit to Terry, Carvalho and company, without them Cech wouldn't be on 100 right now - just think of all the goalline clearances that Cole and Terry have done over the last couple of seasons, and the blocks that the likes of Riccy and Alex have made as well.
  12. Despite beating Bolton and Liverpool and drawing with Arsenal, thus allowing us to regain top spot and go six clear of the Gunners, Spurs are still in the bottom three! Happy days indeed!
  13. Okay, everyone copy my use of Russian translators
  14. привет к Talk Chelsea Is that right?
  15. I feel quite confident about this game, to be honest, Roma can't sit back and defend because they're at home, and Italian fans are quite happy to vent their frustration at sides when they lose. I think it was in 2006 in a match between Siena and Udinese, that Siena didn't have one shot on goal and at full-time they were met by a volley of coins and bottles. They're going to have to attack us and the pace and quality we have up front will make them pay. If they score first they will shut up shot and play for the 1-0 win, but if we score first then they have no choice but to come at us and we will play them off the park for that reason. Either way, they've been shit, so far this season, and we should win.
  16. Everyone misses chances, Lampard has missed more than just a couple of sitters this season but because its him, people forget it.
  17. AS Roma vs. Chelsea Football Club Chelsea crushed Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in 2003. Chelsea travel to Italy with the possibility of guaranteeing progression into the knock-out rounds of the Champions League. 5 years to the day of a famous Chelsea victory in Italy, Luiz Felipe Scolari takes his side to Rome to face Italian giants AS Roma. Despite a faltering start to their league campaign, players such as Francesco Totti, Mirko Vucinic, Rodrigo Taddei and Daniele de Rossi will be looking to get their season kick-started in the right direction. Chelsea, on the other hand, are flying high in Europe and in their own domestic league, and are top of Group A and the Premier League thanks to their superior goal difference in both competitions. Five years to the day of this fixture, Chelsea went to Italy searching for a much-needed win in the Champions League in a game against Lazio. In the Olimpic Stadium, the Blues won 4-0 - the biggest winning margin by a foreign team on Italian soil that has since been equalled by Arsenal. Can the Blues emulate the score line under Claudio Ranieri to ensure qualification for the next round with two games remaining? Match chat here! Predict the result here!
  18. You can't fault Anelka, if he goes missing for half a game but still manages to find the net, its the sign of a good striker. Yes, most of them are tap-ins, but we're nine goals better off thanks to him this season.
  19. Don't get me started on this again You can't learn to save penalties, its pure pot luck.
  20. A Liverpool defeat is almost as good as Chelsea win
