I live in Derbyshire, but does that make me any less of a fan than someone who lives on the King's Road? And does it make me more of a fan than someone who lives in Newcastle, or in any other place? No, it doesn't. If you ask me, as long as you support that club for the rest of your life, through thick and thin, that makes you a proper football fan.

I think the only reason Sam has gone on tour is for LB cover whilst Zhirkov gets his work permit, I can't see him in the first team if I'm honest, as good as he is.

Personally, I feel Terry's silence on the issue is because he doesn't feel he needs to say anything. I'm sure Terry is totally committed to the club and feels he doesn't need to make his voice heard because the club have said he is not for sale.

I don't think a 23 man squad is strong enough - when the African Cup of Nations comes, that number will be reduced to 19 - and three of them are goalkeepers, and that's only if there are no injuries in the squad elsewhere. When you consider there are 18 players in a match-day squad, and you only have 16 outfield players during this period as Drogba, Kalou, Mikel and Essien will be away on international duty. I don't think that's a big enough squad. All that needs to be done is for one of Shevchenko and Pizarro to be sold, and di Santo to be sent out on loan to an EPL club. That way, we would have: GK - Cech, Hilario, Turnbull RB - Bosingwa, Ferreira, Belletti CB - Terry, Mancienne, Carvalho, Ivanovic, Alex LB - Ashley Cole RM - Cole, Sinclair CDM - Essien, Mikel CAM - Ballack, Deco, Lampard LM - Malouda, Zhirkov CF - Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge, Pizarro/Shevchenko, Kalou Which, imo, is adequate.

Ezequiel Garay, the Real Madrid defender, will be a star in the future as well, if my opinion. Stevan Jovetic and Davide Santon are also two of my favourite young players; I think they could be great players in the future.
