They were indeed shocking in the first half but that second half performance - considering they were already 4-0 down - demonstrates remarkable character, and there was a period between 46 and 52/53 minutes where we were firmly on the back foot. It wasn't until Lampard scored the fifth that we regained control. Bolton weren't as bad as people are making out; neither were we playing as world-beaters. We simply took our chances well and capitalised on haphazard defending.

You can only beat what's out in front of you... and calling Bolton poor is very harsh considering they hit the woodwork and had a goal wrongfully ruled out... would you be calling them a poor side if it had finished 3-5?

Fair criticism, I also agree our marking is a little slack, but give some credit for a well-worked Bolton goal, I'd certainly be happy if my team scored that goal!

You can't really moan that much about a clean sheet when we're attacking all the time as we are. I could understand if we were being conservative like under Ancelotti during the back end of his regime but the Villas-Boas methodology is to score goals, and I'd rather win 5-1 than 4-0, even though I'm a goalkeeper.

That post is more like a Badboy post Haha I can agree with you there, I think his confidence has certainly been shaken by the Hunt challenge and he does not quite have the same dominance of his box that he once did. I think now though he is a bit more imposing when facing penalties which is something he has worked on, he always tries to stare the kicker out which is something I know is successful through personal experience.
