  1. Telegraph believes we're favourites for him - i guess he's regretting his manchester comment. Why go to either of those rabble when you could join the european champions!
  2. Might have to buy the top with the star on and drogba on the back regardless if he stays or leaves
  3. Seriously considering trekking down from gloucester to london for the parade tomorrow. Firstly has anyone been to one before - is it worth it? Also they apparently stop and end at parsons green - is that where they were filmed singing, etc when they had the parade for the league and cup double? Also how far is the distance from the bridge to parsons green in terms of walking distances?
  4. Words cannot describe my feelings - i love this club so much and i now firmly believe in miracles! You could not have wrote a more difficult script of how to win it from valencia, to napoli, to barca, to bayern. Everyone of those players and staff - LEGENDS!!!
  5. When we've attacked we look dangerous - i can understand the tactics of keeping it tight but they have still had good chances. Please just hope our luck runs through for the rest of this game!
  6. Malouda is an injury risk aswell - you can't play three players nursing hamstring injuries. Luiz and cahill must be risked so malouda will miss out. The only other option to bertrand is essien to shore up the midfield but then mata will end up isolated on the wing and he may be key tonight with the absence of guztavo.
  7. If chelsea win then i'm planning to get down to london for the trophy parade tomorrow. Obviously living 3 hours away and with an 18 month old to find a babysitter for, i need to plan in advance. Anyone got any links to a detailed synopsis of the parade, times, locations, stop offs, etc. the article on the chelsea website is rather sketchy.
  8. It would cap a fitting end to the greatest era in the clubs history and hopefully allow the club to rebuild and restructure sensibly and calmly over the next couple of seasons without the pressure of having never won the champions league.
  9. Maybe looking to next season - but i wouldn't risk him to start this game!
  10. ^^ this. I am quietly confident playing a defensive, direct style that drogba could be the matchwinner. If he and mata are on their game they can break that bayern backline.
  11. But he won't track back - key considering their biggest threats will come from the wings. Sturridge is better staying on the bench as an option to throw on late if chasing the game.
  12. Also on our left its not just robben but lahm also to worry about. We need someone responsible enough to run and track back selflessly with good defensive tendencies to combat those two and prevent them doubling up on one player.
  13. Bertrand would be a big call if picked. His lack of BIG game experience could be massive in such a game but in front of cole who can guide him and encourage him it could be a stroke of genius. He would bring much needed pace and athleticism to the side and on the counter we need someone with an engine to get up and down to support drogba. It sounds crazy but might just work!
  14. He's angling for a move back to barca - his agent basically invited them to buy him back. I think moving to anyone else is empty threats to be honest.
  15. He actually has quite a knack of bagging goals out of nothing. Competent on the floor and in the air, he would be both worth the risk and a solid attacking option.
  16. Need to wrap this deal up whilst others fight over Hazard. Can see City moving for Hulk if they don't get Hazard.
  17. For me one big signing must be made out wide like hulk. I don't see the need to spend millions on a striker when we already have torres because it means at least one expensive player ALWAYS having to sit on the bench. Ba is cheap, his wages wouldn't be excessive, proven in the prem, and he's at the right age where you would expect him capable of slotting straight in and hopefully getting some real good years out of him.
  18. The knee condition is manageable - particularly if he isn't relied on to play every game. At Chelsea he can be afforded a rest. Although he has this underlying condition, it hasn't been a problem yet at all during 18months in England.
  19. The whole point is though that we can't expect millions upon millions to be spent. If the club are to bring 4, 5, 6 players in this summer they can't all be £15-25m players. We may make 1 or 2 big money signings like hulk but the rest need to be shrewd buys for less money.
  20. Yeah but he has played nearly every game this season for newcastle. With torres here we wouldn't have to heavily rely on either hopefully allowing both to keep fresh and not overdo it. We should be able to get at least 2-3 years out of him at a hood level before selling him on before his knees degenerate further. By then lukaku should be ready to step up with a season or two out on loan with regular first team football.
  21. Some rumours starting to stir that we have enquired to Demba Ba's agent about joining us this summer. Apparently he has a release clause this summer of around £7m (of which he gets a 50% cut apparently!!!), and has intimated to Newcastle that he wants to leave. He hasn't adjusted to life in the north having enjoyed his time in London with West Ham and is also unhappy at being played out of position on the left. Now for me this would be excellent business from Chelsea's perspective. He is 26, which is an age where you would hope to get good years and still a resale value on him, but not too young to be able to slot straight into the team. He isn't as big a personality as Drogba, which will hopefully allow for Torres to flourish as our 'main man' but with genuine quality back up pushing him to perform. People will look at his goalscoring record in the second half of the season and perhaps use it as evidence to not pursue him. However he has been playing out of position on the left wing, doing a job for the team. When played as a striker in the first half of the season (as a lone front man much of the time) he was banging in goals for fun and put Newcastle in the position which allowed them to push on. Talk of Falcao, Cavani, etc is great, but if we're looking to rebuild the squad without spending lavishly, this man is a bargain.
  22. Great player but at 29 and on his wages no thank you.
  23. I think torres needs to be the main man to get the best out of him. However we need very reliable back up to him. Has anyone noticed he hasn't been injured whilst at us - that may change if there was suddenly an over-reliance on him.
  24. I can remember SWP saying he was happy at man city. Later that day he handed in a transfer request. The other way round with the likes of rooney and gerrard.
