No, but he should definately not have gotten a new contract before the WC had even started. This is a generation we won't ever have again and I feel it's being utterly wasted by this man. Credit to him for creating a brilliant atmosphere, a tactical coach a la Van Gaal should be brought in now.
-
He'll be fine. Pointless to judge a player on 2 woldcup games... We should buy Tim Cahill and swap Courtois for Ochoa using that logic
-
He wasn't half bad being double marked against a bus with Belgians ordered to play a slow tempo passing game trying to wear out Algeria. There's only so much you can do alone as a footballer.. I'd love to see more drive though, he needs to want the ball more.
-
The whole team was terrible in the first half, he was up alone against a bus while the Belgian midfielders were having fun passing backwards. Pretty low from some tbh, but expected =)
-
He was very unlucky getting injured when he did. Koscielny and Mertesacker proved to be too solid as a partnership. With some luck he can succesfully revive his career somewhere else. He's not a bad player by any means. He's had one disastrous season which erased all his previous ones in the publics mind.

Can't believe people are saying it wasn't a dive Defender didn't touch him, perfect schwalbe
-
Kinda hated the guy, still happy If we manage to get Costa and Luis we should have some fun next season
-
PVA would get destroyed defensively in the PL...
-
Are you trying to prove he had a bad pre season by scoring? ^^ I'm done trying tbh, I just hope he's here next year.
-
Erm, if you're talking about the 2 City games, he didn't feature in either of them afaik '-.-
-
He scored 4 goals in 4 pre season friendlies.. I don't want to make a fuss but don't talk bs please.
-
Something several Dutch/French speaking members have been saying several times, noone cares though, people like to bitch and whine.Silly season indeed.
-
^^ relax mate, would be a shame to get a warning over this. I really think the media is to blame for all the misconceptions, must be over half of the articles that had sensationalist or just plain false quotes this year. Just a pity people suck it up without thinking. Can't help but feel some journos are abusing the naivety of our Belgian players as in talking too much in the press. I wonder why noone can handle this though. A simple request by Mourinho or any other authority should suffy to make them shut up?
-
Fair enough, I still think you believe what you read way too quickly. Don't judge till you're sure. I'm 100% sure he doesn't want to leave. Or well; 90
-
NEWSFLASH: He is. Fair enough if you don't like his personality, it's not just him though. You seem to have it in for anything that's Belgian. See, what kind of bs is this? Find me a legit quote where he says he "deserves" to be our "1st choice striker". You'd make a brilliant journo. protip: stop reading articles published in Britain, find Belgian articles and translate them. There's handy tools these days to do so. Perhaps listen to what Dutch or French speaking members TELL you what he actually said, oh wait several did to no avail. I'm not denying he talks too much though. It's annoying. Mistranslations more so.
-
If the shambles you call media in your country mistranslate quotes that causes so much debate over nothing? You can fucking bet I'd defend him. Not that I speak Spanish. What's up with you whining over Belgians in every odd post you make anyway? Kindly do fuck off.
-
Are people still going on about those fake quotes? Stop being retarded and learn to interpret things for yourself. How many times have there been mistranslations in the British press this season? It's disgusting. Always the same people making a fuss in this thread too.
-
Lower your pitchforks and torches lads, until the next dodgy article at least
-
Why would a sensationalist paper like the dailymail remove such an eyecatcher of an article? If there was only a hint that those quotes could be true it would be on top of their website surely?
-
Pretty sure nothing significant will be decided till after the world cup. Should he have a brilliant WC there will be no looking past him. If not, contract extension and loan deal hopefully.
-
no. I'll be suprised if either of them will play in the first squad in the next 5 seasons or so.
-
At 19yo you get all the p*ssy you can get man. KDB has forgiven him, I'm sure you can too edit: oh wait, it happened last year.. the cunt
-
He's actually a supernice guy, but hey, you made a 'controversial' comment, good on you.
-
Absolutely not, that's why 1 of them will leave. Can't put a possible CL-winner and La Liga winner on the bench, can't sideline the best keeper in the PL 2013-2014 either. Either that or another year on loan.
