  1. Id certainly agree with malouda, lamps or ramires in for him id have thought was a given for sunday
  2. torres certainly doesnt deserve criticism after that performance but hes hardly answered his critics. Step in right direction thouh. Whod play him against man utd? I think i would but am 50/50
  3. bit harsh IMO but do it a bit, think its gonna come from switching alot of players and luiz not as sharp defensively. Think terry would of controlled defense better. Mata looked a class above everyone on that pitch. Lot more questions gonna be asked sunday thouh
  4. me neither merieles and sturridge both plain well, 2 of our top 3 IMO
  5. think things look a tad unbalanced at times. Thats not a negative, its expected when u rest players and look at new ideas. mata and sturridge wide look really good, Loving mata drifting inside aswel very clever and direct player. What weve been asking for i think.
  6. SAF would have no problem puttin a kid were back to what we did last year malouda centre mid. Other then that very positive
  7. how obvious is it were trying to play first time balls to torres? Not that i mind just sad he fluffs it all the time
  8. mata looks a top top player. gives the ball so quickly, very creative and appears to have final ball.
  9. dont see mikels role in this game, standing side by side to merieles alot of the time so far. would prefer josh
  10. i think i speak for us all when i i say i hope in 2 hours time we open a postive torres thread
  11. Having listened to kia joorabchian on talk sport the other week and i wdnt be suprised if football ends up goin down a similar route financially to the deals that were done with tevez and mascherano. He was saying that its basically business minded ppl set up football schools around the world especially in poorer countries and then basically investing in individuals, they buy there registration then in a way loan them to clubs as he did with west ham. The reason i say that is, that if money falls out of clubs and alot of players get released from clubs goin bump etc this wdnt be a bad way to deal. I know it doesnt feel right the thought of people ''owning'' players, but its not that far from practical when you think about it. It also stops clubs paying as much for players and on long deals. You could also argue it gives players more freedom then they have now. I also know our league doesnt allow it but that could change. I dont know enough about the whole financial structure to prove my point, its just something to think about.
  12. The way our media treat the issue leave's a sour taste though IMO. Whoever watched our game and selected highlights/lowlights on MOTD decided to leave this incident out like its not an issue that should be dealt with. If mata had took a ridiculous dive during this game it would of been highlighted. Same goes with the sun. I was in Nice airport during the game so never got to see it till someone posted it on here. MOTD always used to protect gerrard aswel, as they do shawcross and stoke. Its like the english players are always clumsy, or just full bloodied where as if a foriegn player does it its disgraceful. Scholes was excused that many times during his career for 'not being able to tackle' but not just the fact that he used to get frustrated and kick people up in the air which is the truth of it. Glad the fa are dealing with it thouh and they really should throw the book at him. One of the worst examples of stamping ive seen.
  13. My last and final time i mention torres negatively on here. Firstly i dont think the fans criticising him on here is harsh and unfair in the slightest, only speaking as we find and as long as we dont start booing at games is more than just. They get paid an awful alot of money and take all the plaudits when doin well(gettin 50 mill transfers) so i dont think a bit of criticism from fans is fair. Secondly i do think its a confidence thing, when he started well against stoke he looked different in his attitude and performance. But its blatantly obvious his confidence seems to srop with every bad touch. He looks like hes scared to run into the box incase he gets a chance. It might be a case happening more often with modern players. The more scrutiny that footballers get now must play on there minds and ive also started to think that maybe the way the reserves has changed for footballers the last 5 years or so doesnt help. It was common practise for struggling players to drop to reserves to get the confidence up and start scoring in games. The whole reserve set up has changed now and basically cdnt happen. If he was to drop in reserves it would be back page news, sky sports news and everything else and that definately wudnt help. Basically the unfortunate fact is there is know where for him to go to regain his confidence and we might have to accept letting him go abroad. Joe cole came on for lille and looked like the old joe away from media scrutiny as he always relied on confidence and struggled at l'pool. I hope torres comes good but im 80 percent in my own opinion that its too hard for him and he hasnt the character to turn it around.
  14. there was always a big rumour that downing the dj was a cokehead aswel but im sure theres plenty more.
  15. too true, i have a problem when people drag a load of stats in to try and prove a point, they can be very useful sometimes but i think the idea that torres has even remotley played well since his arrival is a joke. Hes been awful bar the stoke game. The amount of excuses that have been made for him and now it appears its the rest of the teams fault hes shit. Forget all stats etc, id ask anyone to look at his body language when he plays and tell me its right, he doesnt look interested. Id accept we fucked up and take whatever we can get for him in jan and move on.
  16. I for one am very pleased with the signing, mikel, essien, lamps, ramires, merieles, mcheachran, romeu to compete for 3 places in middle. essien out and mikel will be at african nations if we hadnt of signed someone like him we wud be so reliant on lampard and ramires for a month or so. Competitions great and doesnt come with the pressure that modric wud of carried. Much better signing than modric in my opinion.
  17. id love to think its depression but i was always one who thought he was massively over rated anyway. Did u see how good suarez was again. why cdnt our scouts/manger see that. Even tevez went to west ham, we could have had either. The fact is i wouldnt care less if we had our own gem, even if he was at a lesser standard. torres, anelka, malouda are just with us 4 the money. I know tevez is, but at least hes good. Mourinho signed hungry players who wanted to make a name and success of themselves were siging overated. Really hope Lukaku comes good as he fits the criteria. People who try to argue our kids arent good enough id say one thing. How do you expect them to grow and improve without chances. I was at john terrys home debut and i never thought he looked as good as hes got. But the fact is he grew into it, im pretty confident our new batch who are more taelnted could. Just look at man utd or arsenal or even liverpool everton aston villa. Theyve all brought kids thru into talented players who arent knowhere near the ability of ours
  18. im really not a doom and gloom merchant and im not trying to upset or provoke an argument but i really do think some cfc fans are wearing blinkers. Weve played stoke, wba and norwich and look so average its unreal. All i keep hearing is excuse or false positives. Lets clear one thing up, torres is looking terrible. people keep saying confidence or we dont play his way etc etc, but hes meant to be a great player, rooney played left wing to accomodate and still got to a champ league final and won the league. In my opinion the ppl who keep digging for positives are the fans who tried to say he was the answer and are now embarrased because he looks so bad. Theres nothing wrong in supporting your players and if i was going i certainly wdnt boo but he has played like a 2nd rate player for 2 years and we payed 50mil. What annoys me more is the fact that josh mcheacran has shown nothing but great potential and natural ability and yet again weve signed someone and hes not gettin a look in. I personally hate that. Lukaku and mata looked really positive mind and im not havin a go at them but i am really disheartend for the 4th year running and its only 3 games in. Im gutted tell you the truth and think that supporting a team means more than just winning and would love to see chelsea kids get a go. I had a season ticket in the vialli and ranieri era and loved it under vialli. The money has gave us the leagu but killing us as a club. I would not pay alot of money to see the group we have there now.
  19. this is mark hughes best game for cfc. i was 14 and nearly in tears after the first half. Hughes dragged us back into it and vialli won it. 2nd goal prime example of hughes tenacity . gotta agree with hasselbaink. As good as he was i used think he was so lazy at times and it used to wind me up a treat. Hopefully his biggest contribution is to come as weve all read hes the reason Lukaku supports us.
  20. JFH and eidur were class to be fair. Just a bit of a sentimental one. We were alot better side when they played
  21. With all the talk of torres and drogba playing together or not being able to play together got me thinking of the strike partnership of the past and which one was my favourite. I decided that the 1997/98 season of zola/hughes was probably mine. Both examples of complete unselfishness. Think they might of only scored 24 between them in all comps but loved the fact that even if they'd have a 95 percent chance of scoring if someone next to them had a 96 percent chance they'd always square. One had all the invention and the other had the strength. Both accomplished in all technical sides aswel. Think at the time and the wat chels were progressing hughes was a very shrewd signing. Whats yours?
  22. I think im too confused who id want between nani, bale, rooney or suarez so im gonna go down a different route and say wilshere. play him n mcheachran together for club n country and they can be like xavi and iniesta in 5 years. For the record i dont rate bale that highly but loads of pace and natural width would be a tactical one.
  23. I'm not that proud of it but went to arsenal game yesterday. Before I get strung up bout not goin to cfc, it was my bros bday and I had a meal on night and cdnt fit game in. Had a drink in tollington after and believe me there fans aren't deluded, there dreading the season already. It was good to go and laugh at 2 rivals thouh. Carroll is a worse player than I already thought, Im not sure how much they've spent but there basically an expensive Stoke. So many average players. Suarez is class thouh,, movement was awsome when he came on. Couldn't laugh for long though as I thought our performance was garbage at times. Two games in been really slow distrubutin in midfield and still no mcheachran? Joke
