To bring excitement I guess, and some of the years since introducing the play offs it worked. Finishing the season with 6 (next year again 10) top games is also good revenue for the clubs with the stadium as good as full. Can you call it fair for the team leading the championship after 30 regular league games, I guess not. Especially not cause the points are cut in half before start of play offs. But that’s why they give them allready a Europa league ticket.
