  1. The only one I can think of was the previous Spain shirt, exact same template with the exception of the slight v collar, different at the back o the collar and bottom of the sleeves.
  2. I know, but we'd have further stifled their fight for fourth and I think we can get a good lot of points out of the remaining games.
  3. If we beat the Spuds on Saturday we're laughing.
  4. I thought Cech, Cahill, Luiz and Torres were the only players who really offered anything tonight. Bosingwa, Meireles and Essien really bothered me, the rest were non existent. Couldn't honestly say City were great either, they were however worth the win. I actually said to a friend of mine I was texting during the game that tonight seemed like one of those nights were Drogba would come on and provide nothing. Think I was right.
  5. 0-1 Cahill, 1-1 Agüero (Boo!), 2-1 nasri (Boo!),
  6. We have Kevin De Bruyne on loan, a lad who is 20 years old and isn't selfish because of any lack of maturity. We also have Juan Mata, at 23, just over a year older than Sturridge, who is the complete opposite to selfish and who also started out his career as a striker. For me it's not a question of maturity, it's greed through and through. Maybe it's because he wants to impress, which is admirable, but it's not coming off as perhaps he would hope.
  7. I just don't buy in to the idea that these guys grow out of it, I think it's a concious decision. Also, I don't know if a greedy Ronaldo is a fair comparison to a greedy Sturridge. Ronaldo, greedy or not, brings more to the table than Danny, which was his saving grace. As for being a bigger threat? Well, barely. He had a patch where he was fairly reliable, but he's dropped off... Goals, Danny: EPL 9, FA Cup 1, UCL 1. Total 11 Drogba: EPL 5, FA Cup 0, UCL 4. Total 9 Torres: EPL 2, FA Cup 2, UCL 2. Total 6 Torres I'd say is nailed on to have a higher assist rate and Drogba probably isn't far off. Edit: I don't want to see Danny off the team, I think he should be a starter. But you can't convince me that he couldn't just make the pass if he wanted to, and if he does start to do so, then we're laughing.
  8. He has a job to do, end of story. We and any amount of fans of other teams have watched how greedy he was, and how seemingly worse he's become. He has skill by the truck load which properly employed would make him an all round threat. The amount of games that go by where he just ignores easy assists is shocking. I'm talking about the ones where he gets his head up sees the chance and just decides to go alone. If Sturridge even made half of the easy assists he has the oppertunity to make he'd have as good an assist record as anybody. People talk about him wanting to impress, it's easy, pass the ball. Then like I said in my last post, he'll end the season with 11+ goals and and bag load of assists too. And that's exactly what Chelsea/England fans would want to see. He's come on well as an individual but not as a team player. I really like Sturridge and the sooner he loses his greedy streak the better. The moment he becomes as willing to play the easy final ball as he is to go on his own, he'll look the complete player. That will impress the staff at Chelsea and England and it will impress the fans. By being greedy and not passing and therefore not assisting he holds himself back.
  9. I notice a lot of people have said that he's improving. In all honestly I disagree. He's getting more greedy with every game. That's great and all, but lets be honest, it's not some innate thought process that stops him passing a ball. It's greed, pure and simple. No, he's not the only player who suffers from it, plenty do. But these players, of which Sturridge is one, need to realise that it's not all about goals. He's a great wee player, but think of all the missed opportunities he's had to just play a square ball and provide a tap in. He might want be a CF but unfortunately for him he's currently playing on the wing for club and country, and if he really wants to impress, then 11 goals + X amount of assists looks a lot better than 11 goals and being a greedy sod.
  10. I like Sturridge, he has the ability and the confidence to pull of all the runs and manoeuvres he tries in the box. That said, the real trick is knowing when it's the right time to go on your own or when to dispatch the ball to somebody else. He's a few good passes away from becoming a brilliant all-rounder. But there are games like today when his greed really winds me up.
  11. 1-0 2-0 3-0 3-1 4-1 4-2 5-2 Torres man of the match for me. Gary Cahill was a close second.
  12. I remember loads of people telling me and a few others Gary Cahill was just a Bolton player and not good enough for this team. I'd like to see Torres assist rate, it must be pretty damn good.
  13. I like Ivanovic, he brings plenty to the table and is a real good player. That said (uh oh) I don't think he's as great a RB as many would have you believe. He is our best option though and so long as he keeps Bosingwa out of the running he's worth his weight in gold.
  14. I can understand why people think playing the first leg away is a slight advantage, but the possibility of having an extra 30 mins to grab away goals for the travelling team surely isn't to shabby either. A point which me and a few people I've spoke to this week feel is worth moaning about. Tough game, but fairly confident if we turn up we can have them. Think Milan will put up a fight at home but can't see them knocking out Barca. So I'd say it's a Chelsea - Barca semi, as I'm sure most would agree.
  15. I guess the difference for some people is that Torres is really out of form and I believe Di matteo came out and spoke about it being a mental issue recently (make of that what you will) We also know Torres has the ability. Kalou on the other hand is on his usual form and is still a dummy. That and the fact that a Kalou on top form will never touch a Torres on top form. I'm happy to praise either if they play well. Whilst Torres isn't scoring he has had quite a few really good games where he has undoubtedly helped the team. He is also responsible for quite a few important assists. At the end of the day I want to the team to do well and score goals, and I'm not bothered who scores them be it forwards, mids or defenders or which of the aforementioned assists them. With that said, I don't think we should get rid of him, purely because I just don't believe a player of his ability can just lose that. Anyway, my opinions aside, he's more than likely out the door in the summer.
  16. Our last three results are less about what sacking AVB has achieved and more about what pandering to the players has. It annoys me that plebs like Henrique sit here smug as if they knew this would happen. The reality is we all did, but I think most of us can see it's because the humps pulled their heads out of their asses as soon as they got what they wanted, which has very little to do with AVB's quality of management.
  17. Some dodgy spam account... http://forum.talkchelsea.net/user/4904-baasilife/
  18. Unfortunately the world of football isn't as black and white as that.
  19. One simple click on the magical "view" button reveals it to be somebody called "mesousa".
  20. Gary Cahill has yet to disappoint me since we picked him up. Reminds me how a lot of people on here were saying a Bolton defender wasn't good enough for us, and how he had his name dragged through the mud as being greedy and not good enough before he even played a game. Good signing. Drogba has been invisible. Mikel plays passes that I could make. Ashley isn't doing enough. Cahill, Ivanovic and Ramires have been our stand out players in a pretty average first half. At least we don't look shaky.
  21. I have a good feeling about this game. It's not because we've just had a win because I try not to take too much away from beating Championship sides even if it is in the FA cup where they're more up for it. I don't know, I just fancy this one.
