  1. I totally echo that view. Alex>>>Ivanovic>>>>>terry. evaluation based on the past 2 seasons
  2. Yes. Givanildo de Souza aka Hulk
  3. How is he worth it? I need convincing reasons. I don't even think he's better than Hulk or Sanchez to start with.
  4. Serious question guys. Is Neymar really worth all these stress ?. currently, Messi should be the only player in the world that deserves such bargaining power. if he doesn't wish to join us then get someone else already Mata,Sanchez,Hulk,Hazard are realisitc targets who are comparable to neymar, talent wise and they wouldn't cause this much headache and confusion.
  5. Yes . Back in 04 when he moved to utd. Don't put anything past the English press.just type "wayne rooney the white pele" on google and see for yourself. There's even a song for it
  6. If Bendtner (insert any average striker/player here) was English, He would be given the world class status as well. I have lost all hope in the English media since they dubbed Rooney as the "white Pele"
  7. What's Torres and Sheva doing on most posters overwhelming list. The former appeared to have lost the golden touch and also injury plagued while the latter was simply too old (29 at the time) and past his prime . so what's the justification for the excitement. I guess kaka and pirlo would make the list to if we manage to sign them. smh Anyway to the topic.. Overexcited signings were 1) Alex 2) Essien 3)Mikel Obi Underwhelming 1) Torres 2) Sheva 3)Turnbull
  8. I need some of that Jamaican weed right about now
  9. Hulk, Hazard, Alexis Sanchez, Gervinho, Adam Johnson ashley young, Valencia et al. These are wingers that would improve our creativity and overall play significantly.
  10. The fact still remains that we have been linked with 3 expensive strikers, a position that hardly calls for urgent attention in our squad. if the transfer speculations is anything to go by then it's safe to conclude that RA and Gourlay are clueless when it comes to player acquisition. Neymar,Aguero and Lukaku will hardly solve our glaring creativity problem. And please don't make any excuses for the obvious questionable tranfer policies under the roman administration with some wasteful and unnecessary buys over the years e.g sheva, Veron, SWP,Torres,Mateja Kezman etc. The board are easily distracted by Big names and the hottest stars atm that they often fail to get the team's priorities right.
  11. But we don't need a manager to recognize the key areas that needs strengthening in our squad. The manager situation will become clearer after the turkey vs Belgium game
  12. David Villa is effective on the wings because his style of play suites barca's tika taka passing game and their midfield dominance also plays a huge role. At a club like our on the other hand where the midfield is unimaginative and uncreative, you need a natural winger that can run at defenders down the flanks and create chances, a striker would struggle to significantly impact play on the wings for us. A classic example is Anelka, you can see how unnatural and ineffective his play his on the wings compared to when he's played as a center forward which is the same position he played when he emerged as premiership's highest goals scorer 3 seasons ago.
  13. Robben was used as an example to illustrate the point that wingers role can not be effectively and efficiently fulfilled by a striker. That was a very simple concept and how it went over your head which led you to focus on Robben and his injury problems is beyond my wildest imagination,.
  14. Do you care to explain how you came to that conclusion (the bolded part) another unnecessary presumption. La liga is widely regarded as one of the best leagues in the world with huge follower ship and with sky TV having the broadcasting rights in the UK coupled with the popularity of live footie streaming on the internet, what restricts me from watching Kun and AM's games every weekend?
  15. How does that answer my question?. my question was in paraphrased terms "who will be more effective on the wings. A quality natural winger or a striker pretending to be a winger"? And btw, even though it has nothing to do with the topic but since you brought it up, Kun is relatively injury prone as well, just check is injury record in the last 2 seasons at AM.
  16. The bolded is the only player that should top our priority list. others we can conveniently do without. get me VDW, 2 natural wingers, a creative mf and a backup goalie please
  17. Yer 101 goals in 234 all competition appearances and 74 goals in 175 la liga appearances. that's still a poor goal to game ratio for a striker valued that highly
  18. Why buy an outrageously expensive striker to play as a winger when we could simply buy 2 natural wingers for his asking price instead? . No matter how talented Kun is, he will never produce the same output as a natural, quality winger. case in point (Arjen robben vs David villa).who is more effective on the wings? answer that question truthfully please
  19. Juventus join the chase to sign Aguero and I hope they succeed for 2 reasons 1) for the reason I provided above 2) The £45 million asking price is too astronomical for a striker that has only scored 74 goals in 175 appearances for the club. that's an outrageously overpriced player based on his goal to game ratio/output
  20. Aguero is a center forward and besides what will happen to sturridge if we sign him. our focus right now should be on signing 2 wingers, a creative midfielder,VDW and a back up goalie. In other words we can do without a new striker.
  21. Why are we targeting strikers when our main weakness has been and still is lack of creativity. 3 out of the 4 players we have been strongly linked with are strikers (Lukaku,Aguero,Neymar).. . .classic case of misplaced priority. Gourlay and roman better get their priorities straight.
  22. Don't get me wrong I'm not the biggest harry fan but I do feel the importance of his motivational skills to our team his underestimated. You need a manager like him to effectively deal with big ego in our dressing room and simply put, he has the qualities to bring out the best in our players.haven't said that< i still prefer Guus or Villa Boas over him
