the saddest thing from this half is that our best player, and only player with any passion and wanting to create and do something for the team is our newest player - Torres. You look at the likes of Lampard and Terry and they've done fuck all. AVB was wrong, a revolution is needed at Chelsea, with fresh blood and willingness to play not the same old.

sloppy pass from bos to alex but had plenty of time to react and get it, seemed to just stand there then stretch when he saw long coming to intercept. looked to have recovered but somehow long just was too strong, yes, too strong for alex and shrugged him off for an easy 1 on 1
-
what the actual FUCK? Maybe that move to Juve is playing on Alex's mind too much. Pathetic.
-
who actually gives a shit? calling some players egoistic is massively hypocritical for so many people on this forum. always trying to put one comment above the otherand try and win a useless argument. why not stick to the topic of his transfer rather than being so petty?

i'm going to take a bet and say there is no other player in the world like him. when i say that i mean he's an intelligent, level-headed and supremely talented guy who knows he's blessed and will do all he can to reach his dreams which are finally happening. a young guy with real motivation and love for the game and the club. i bet if we offered him 10k a week he would sign up asap. that video captures him in a way in which you'll be hard stretched to find any other player with his kind of talents showing such emotions for our club. he will be, if not already, a massive fans favourite. nothing but respect for the guy and extremely happy for him.

anyone got the link for the CTV replay?!
-
Firstly as people have pointed out; 43million for an inconsistent and unproven player is pathetic. Secondly, if he chose PSG over Chelsea it just shows how money motivated and deluded he is. I personally wouldn't want a player like that player for Chelsea. Good luck to him, but I'm happy we didn't buy him, the only problem is who else can now fill that void..
-
I have never, and doubt I will ever see a player of this guys quality again. He is genuinely as a person and a player the best I have ever seen and the reason I became a Chelsea fan.
-
I agree to an extent. Josh will get given the chance but for his development and for the good of Chelsea it should be in a more advanced role than DM, he shines in a CM role and him moving the ball quickly in DM won't make much of a difference I don't think. Our main problem is in the final third and creating the chances, we can pass the ball round superbly but when it comes to breaking down a defence we are clueless and lack ideas. With Josh in DM he can't impact this like he could, he can create and should be given the chance to do so.
-
I think you have to remember that this is against a significantly weaker team than the ones we'll be playing next season. Mikel and his strength and sometimes his slow built up is needed when we face teams who can attack us quickly or are just absolute beasts to break up play and give us defensive back-up. Josh, as good as he is, doesn't have the physique to play in DM when it comes to EPL, he makes a few good challenges but his quality is seen further up the pitch. Same goes for Ramires, his impact is to bring the ball forward and run with it, he doesn't fit a holding role.
-
*it's been 5 months. People still say it's down to "service" but it's hardly like we have a midfield that can't play great balls, he makes some runs but gives up half the time. His touches are still poor as his finishing is. It's very easy to blame the service and a lack of passes but when it becomes 5 months in a team and you're still as poor as you were when you came you've got to start questioning his abilities.
-
I think if he was bought in time to test at pre-season it would be a realistic option but given his tender age, and lack of football to a high standard I assume he would just play back-up to Mikel.
-
Too weak, especially if we play Luiz at the back. Mikel McEachran/ Lampard interchanging - Pastore (if we get)/Ramires/Essien(when fit)
-
even more so how people are celebrating it. not even a goal, and piss fucking poor performance, didn't even deserve this win. full credit to these young Malaysians.
-
God Ferriera is shocking. He's not even a good squad player - such a liability. Even these guys have the confidence to take him on and are raping him everytime, his positioning for such an experienced player is woeful too

How can AVB play 4-3-3 which is dependent on natural wingers with Kalou (striker naturally) and Benayoun (midfielder) on the wings? This is ridiculous, we clearly need some wingers and some creativity in the middle of the park. They are hardly attacking so why the hell are we playing Josh so deep? Give him a chance to produce and create, limiting him will just ruin him. And why the hell are all the commentators so happy with Torres? He's been terrible... missed 2 easy chances, touches have been poor and he does one little nutmeg and everyone thinks this will get his confidence back up. Sorry, I've heard that excuse for the last 4 months. It might be early doors but this just looks same old Chelsea with no fluidity and 11 changes at HT hardly helps that cause. Rant over.
-
He never said to play with him, rather for Didier to tutor him - which seems ideal. Lukaku would be happy to learn from him and wouldn't mind making a low number of apperances, he knows this will happens as he develops. Therefore keeping Drogba and buying Lukaku could quite easily work, at least for a year.
-
Oh please! We hear this every season when a new manager comes in..
-
Which of these top players are left? Neymar, Sanchez, Falcao, Aguero?
-
Think you misunderstood what he's saying. We are too late, and the people we are getting now, do we really need them so desperately? Another young GK and another young striker (Lukaku), whilst are excellent investment and will prove to be good signings, shouldn't be our priority. By focusing to much on luxuries rather than neccessities we have missed out on perfect targets for us. Already what should have been our top targets are slipping away, you have to be proactive not reactive, and it seems as though we are proving to be the latter, once again.

Sergio Aguero joins the other Manchester club

Breaking news: Sky Sports sources understand Manchester City are to enter formal negotiations with Atletico Madrid over Sergio Aguero. Stay with us for more on this story... ... Seems like Tevez didn't stop them -
Don't know if it's been discussed here already but does anyone know why Gael isn't in the 26 man squad? I can sort of understand Lalkovic being excluded but Gael?! EDIT: Urm, okay, maybe this will teach me to read before I post a comment! Ignore please, sorry

Of course, I never disputed that. The bigger the risk, the bigger the potential gain. Neymar can be an incredible player, but so can Lukaku, and for half the price tag his risk is far lower. I would disagree on the part that Didier isn't like C.Ronaldo. I know what you mean he can't do things that make you sit there in awe of him all the time like those can but he's a striker, he's not meant to. His importance to Chelsea over the years has been the same as to those you have mentioned to their respected teams and his impact also, I would therefore put him on par with C.Ronaldo. Anyway, this whole argument came about because you thought the U17 geezer would be a better alternative to Lukaku, since this has been cleared up I don't see any reason to carry this on.
