  1. Redknapp straight in by the looks of it. Arry's agent talking up a move to Ukraine sure worked.
  2. But if we lose and are out of every competition early, will it be the manager's fault, or will it still be the players?
  3. Oh right, thought Eddie would've gone with RDM. Suppose they could be part of the back room staff again. Really hope Holland stays.
  4. To me, this is even stranger than the appointment of Benitez in the first place. Welcome back though, Bolo. Have we learned the fate of Steve Holland yet?
  5. That was it yeah, I think he was trying to say that both the senior players and the younger players all have the same attitude in training/the dressing room. And about the JT captaincy issue, I believe he meant that Terry will 'normally' be captain but can't because obviously he's out injured. Those are my interpretations though. It could be fun having a cryptic manager...
  6. He did mention Romeu a couple of times as well I think.
  7. at that reply. Funny that you have a go at me for putting words in your mouth yet you've done exactly the same thing. Right, you just have the time to type out that reply. Isn't that convenient?
  8. Pretty much what I expected. He said the right things when asked some ridiculous questions (Neil Ashton is a prick). Can't really ask for more from him, the real test will be Sunday. It seems he's all about attitude and discipline in training, something we really need. The appointment of Zenden is a little strange as well, I think - What's happening with Holland by the way?
  9. LOL at comments on twitter giving Benitez stick because the press conference will start late. These will be the same people cheering him on if the team starts winning.
  10. 5.30PM UK time - Live here http://www.chelseafc...gnews-pressconf Maybe the only good news today... Chelsea FC have finally ditched their media player in favour of Youtube.
  11. Probably the best outcome we could've hoped for (realistically). We all knew the FA were never going to charge Clattenburg.
  12. So it's Torres' fault that the club decided to go into a new season with one striker who has zero confidence and no sort of form, and one striker who can't even be trusted to play the right-wing role let alone at centre forward? The board took a gamble on Torres being able to perform as the main striker and it hasn't paid off, who's fault is that? This is what happens when people believe what's written in the Daily Mail.
  13. I repeat. This whole situation is just... odd.
  14. I'm fairly sure Benitez was signing the Chelsea/Liverpool shirts in the UAE, which was where he was before he flew to London last night. It's not like he's outside Cobham signing Liverpool shirts or anything. I could be wrong on that one though (the UAE bit, not the Cobham bit).
  15. TX has a point though. RDM knew the score before he took the job. I think deep down he knew he wouldn't last more than a year anyway, which is why i'm sure he waited to accept a 2 year deal rather than a rolling contract. This doesn't mean RDM doesn't love the club, anyone would've done the same. Benitez is a better manager than Di Matteo as well, you can't argue against that. Loving the club doesn't make you a better manager, it makes you a more likeable manager. Di Matteo handled the shit this club threw at him with a quiet dignity and grace that we shouldn't forget. Off the field, he was a fantastic representative for the club, when it comes to games however, his flaws were obvious. That being said, I don't agree that we're in as bad a spell as the club obviously sees it. It's not easy to restructure a CL winning squad and still maintain a high level of success. All we're doing here is postponing transition, and it's been going on for years. The board are the ones that need examining, not the managers.
  16. The way I see it, wanting Benitez to fail is wanting the team to fail. He's the manager until at least the summer, we as fans have to (reluctantly) accept it. He was hardly anyone's first choice of manager (and that's putting it lightly), but it's the way it is. Complaining and booing him won't get the team winning games.
  17. That pic of Benitez signing a shirt is just very... odd. This whole appointment just feels very... odd.
  18. At first, I was pissed off, now I'm indifferent about it. It's the way it is guys, deal with it. Benitez is here until the end of the season. I suppose if Roman absolutely had to sack RDM, then Benitez is probably the only available coach who has a decent CV. He has to win the supporters round and the only way to do that is with results. So I suppose there is an extra incentive for him. He's very highly thought of in Spain and is an intelligent guy. Good man management but his transfer policy leaves a little to be desired, although I doubt he'll have any say whatsoever in January anyway. I'll give him a chance...
  19. I'm pretty certain it won't be Rafa. You can stop worrying now guys.
  20. Any reason as to why you say that? I find it hard to call him overrated when the man achieved so much. Ballague's just said it won't be Rafa.
