We were completely dominated from the very first whistle. It is very hard to be happy with a point. If this is the mentality of our manager then what is the use of buying players like Fabregas, Hazard and Costa ? We had an extra man but still couldn't put two passes together. This was a shameful performance. Basically treated a City team that had just been clowned by Dortmund as if they are Barcelona. A point is a point but whatever. Shit on a stick is great if it wins titles. But last season we didn't even do that. The football stays the same this year but hopefully the trophies will come. The last time I was this frustrated by a performance is when we lost to the 10 man Barcelona.

He is our best defender. Luis should start, but in place of Ivanovic.

Neither him nor Ramires can keep hold of the ball for very long. This is the reason they should both not be played together.

Well Azpilicueta has been by far our best defender this season. I hate to imagine what would happen if he was playing as poor as Ivanovic. *shudders*

He was responsible for the Schalke goal as well. Has been our worst player this season.

These teams that dominate possession have a tactic of putting in cynical fouls every time the opposition finally gets the ball off of them. Barcelona do it 24/7 and City were doing it all day today to stop any momentum from building up. That and Kompany is basically allowed to kick our players all game long without a booking.

In our team weirdly the onus is always on the wingers to defend. I just hope the defenders eventually start doing their job.

I am still disappointed but things could have been worse. For all our good start if City had won they'd only be two points behind us. It was just a very tactical performance from Mourinho who played for a draw.

The play from the 70th minute onwards is shameful. We have a man advantage and a goal ahead and just basically retreat into our own 18 yard box. And please drop Ivanovic next game ! Every goal this season has come down the right hand side.

Thanks. I was going to bring it up in the earlier games and have been surprised that more hasn't been made of this. Even if you go back to the Swansea game Ivanovic is at times playing right with the striker ! I hope Mourinho does something about it. I would honestly start Luis and Azpilicueta but we might miss the leadership Ivanovic brings. Worrying times though that out of our back four only Azpi is the one who currently does not seem like a liability.

This game also shows why Schurrle is so crucial for us and why in my opinion he should start. He is the only one really who can finish off a chance apart from Costa. In teams that sit back, it is absolutely necessary to play him. For teams that tend to attack we may be playing Ramires instead, but if on Sunday's game Ramires starts then I'd wonder back to today and why Schurrle didn't start because he surely wasn't being rested.

Is it just me or does Ivanovic seem to be caught out of position for every terrible goal we've conceded this season so far ?
