I don't know why people are so worried about the FFP. We have tonnes of unimportant players we can get rid of to raise funds: KdB, Moses, Marin, Essien, Bertrand, Romeu, Ba, Mikel etc. Then there are youngsters like Piazon, Atsu, Wallace and Kalas we can sell if urgent. If something REALLY bad happens, we also have Courtois

He's certainly nowhere close to Ramires in terms of speed, but for a holding midfielder, I don't think it's a problem. One advantage he has in short distance is his long strides. He can cover a lot of ground because he's strong, works hard and is long. And like Yaya Toure, he's deceptively fast over long distance. Yaya's faster than him though.

I lol at the suggestion that just because we are going to play Ramires and Matic in the middle, we are suddenly parking the bus. Funny thing is I couldn't even care less if we do park the bus as long as we get the result. I bet some people wish we kept Villas-Boas and not replace him with Di Matteo who won us the CL because they are more concerned with the style of the play.

There are exceptions, but I don't think his type of players age very well compared to say someone like JT. Also IIRC he switched sides very quickly and started criticizing Jose when the latter decided to quit Real for us. Anyway, I don't think he's a great option at his age and especially considering his mental problems. I would rather get Zouma in right away and use Ivanovic as an emergency CB if Zouma struggles early on. JT, Cahill, Luiz, Zouma, Ivanovic ain't so bad

No guarantee that he would have turned out to be the player he is now if we kept him. Having to buy the player you sold 3 years ago will always hurt, but what's important is that we make the right decision this time around.
