I'm not that optimistic about going there and getting what we need. But I'm sure it will be a great game.

Inter were shit this year, but they wern't last, hence them winning the thing. Schalke, are awful, it was a breeze for Utd, just like it would have been for us....What could have been ey? Back to this match now.... I read the article posted, its so true. Torres must NOT start imho. No way. He's still not on the ball yet. Drogs through the centre. We can do it. I know alot of people are saying no matter what we should be proud, and Yes we should. But I think this is our time to put the wrongs right for earlier in the season, for the CL exit, for letting ourselves get that far behind the pack, now being this close. We need to take the chances, we can do this. Just need belief. We could be champions again after this woeful season. If it's not to be though, I hope that we don't go out without a fight ala champions league. that was embarrassing.
-
Torres must be left out. Drogs through the centre, all day every day for me. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME SHIT MISTAKE YOU DID IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CARLO!
-
He's better than Torres by a mile and showed that vs spurs today. Deserves to be started ahead of Torres, as he suits the team. I agree has 1 more year left at the top. Amazing player.
-
I hope CA isn't stupid enough to go 4-4-2 after we start to get form back from 4-3-3, if he does, we will draw or lose this game. Just sit Torres out, keep same team. Simples.
-
When Drogs blazed it over, didn't Torres sarcastically clap though?
-
Haha! Fuck off Torres, Drogs is top man round hurrr!
-
Wheres the Torres option?
-
Good Status lol
-
This is the thing, we work as a 4-3-3, Drogba or Torres HAVE to play as CF....Out of the two? Drogs EVERY SINGLE TIME. Torres is woeful
-
Obviously need alot to go in our favour, but there could be a small chance of the prem still....IF we actually play well for remaining games and pick up points. Man Utd have a big few weeks, we don't as much, If spuds do us a favour we can jump in at second with a win tonight which we should get. Then Man Utd to play Everton, could be tricky, then Arsenal, the us in the prem with Schalke in between. We have Birmingham, West Ham, Spuds at home....Spuds a hard game, get 9 points, our next game would be Utd...They could easily drop 6 points over their next 3, with us picking up 12 in our next 4 (optimistic i Know) If my maths are correct, We would both be on 73 joint top. But thats IF Chelsea manage to concentrate on top 4 first and let the rest come through naturally. Rooney is a massive boost for their title push. But anything can happen. ktbffh

Same 11 should start, Torres to come on if we are doing well.
-
4-3-3 isn't the only formation we can play. It's the one that works. FACT. whenever we have won the title what have we played? 4-3-3. Two wingers, big man up top. Anelka usually plays wide aswel. We haven't got another essien, lampard or malouda though have we? We haven't got performing midfielders to shove in there. We have striker wise. When Drogba was under performing we didn't have many other options. He is our best striker and a match winner. Rooney is different kettle though, he was out of form and found his feet himself. No matter what you say, I understand peoples love for Torres, I really do. But I honestly believe he looks rubbish and until he performs then I won't change my opinion. That free kick when they slid it to him and he scuffed it completely....how many "world class" strikers miss the ball completely? He came on and had chances, I watched highlights on MOTD and you can be as bias as you like but its obvious how bad the guy is.
-
Our best formation, and what has always worked is 4-3-3 everyone knows that....Drogba cannot perform best anywhere but CF and Torres is CF, therefore unless we change the whole formation which has been tried and failed, then thats the only way they can play together. We have no natural width when we play in a 4-4-2 and we get over run in the middle. It doesn't benefit the player being benched, but in my opinion it benefits the team no doubt. why have an under-performing player, playing? Thats no benefit. Yes it should have been allowed today, but i can garentee you if he starts the scoreline would not have been 1-3. I didn't see the game, but how pivotal was Drogs? If you're saying play them together, again thats a formation change, the scoreline wouldn't have been 1-3. We would have struggled, just like we do everytime we play a 4-4-2
-
Well what would you say do then? imho playing him instead of Drogba had a huge affect against Man U. I mean you start with Drogs, you have heart and desire, Torres shows none of that. Playing someone cause we bought him and he looks rubbish, then costing ourselves games is now the best solution? so playing our best players shouldn't happen anymore? Torres right now is worse than anelka and Drogba. If you're saying play him when the other two are performing much better then he is then that isn't smart.
-
I mean notch, I can understand people defending the guy, but for the life of me I don't see how anyone can say he even looks decent. I can remember once (vs wigan) he looked like he might score....other than that, its been something to forget for him and for us. Noone could have seen this coming, but Carlo having this much faith in the guy and him letting us down is getting us nowhere. Drogba is our best striker, yet we choose to play Torres. It's not smart.
-
Again, saying all these things about Torres being the main man next year is way to pre-mature...lets see if he can hit the target first. which he can't by the looks of it.
-
Yeah mate, was awful...But when you see how shit Torres is LIVE and how quality Drogba is CA really has let everyone down. Drogs has been our best player last 3 or 4 games, so drop him?! Might aswel of not come out and given Utd the game
-
I don't care what anyone says, the guy has looked fucking wank since he arrived, I saw it first hand tonight, (did he do anything), you have Drogba, best player for our last 3 games, so you play torres who is fucking woeful....Playing into Utd hands, it was an obvious outcome. I think this was a big mistake. Rather have sturridge any day. Tonight sturridge would have done 10X what Torres did. Fact. At least he would have tried. People saying he's still playing with a smile on his face.....really? He looks like he doesn't wanna be here to me. His body language is off. As i say, since his arrival everyone cranking up saying hes going to notch each game is bullocks. He looks shit.

Just got back from the game while sitting in Utd fans (torture) North Stand, 2nd tier. We are Awful, woeful. I didnt hold out much hope but fuck me, Torres? As soon as I saw this it was game over, all the Utd fans couldn't believe it, then the subs! malouda done nothing major, anelka looked decent, so he takes anelka off. We get the goal back and didnt even have time to enjoy it before it was game over. Its embarrassing we can't even perform as a team, Lampard looked shit tonight. I drove 4 and a half hours, its 3:09am and Looking at replays we were fucking shit. Utd deserved it, but we made it so much easier by playing into their hands and playing a shit striker.
-
I'm at the game tonight, with Utd fans, sitting with Utd fans This could be one of the worst nights or best nights of my life. No Joke. DO i hold out much hope though? No. We have no where near performed this season and if he starts Torres again i will defiantly think our CL dream will be over. Man Utd look rampant, we look awful still.
-
Don't get why everyone is throwing torres in, Yossi was good when he came on vs Wigan, Why throw a striker who can bring down a ball or notch for toffee in?
-
Everytime he gets the ball he stumbles and it bobbles around. he never looks in control, what was that effort off the shin? His two best chances came from crosses tonight. So don't think you have much of a point. He looks dreadful.
-
Stop raving on about the Peno, YES it is a tie changer (potentially) but Utd got their result and IMO deserved it. Its half time, in their back yard. If we would have got their decision, we would have been laughing. Torres is woeful. End of. He stumbles all the time when he has the ball. Looks a waste more and more so with every game. We didn't play well and its noticeable. Advantage Utd. Chelsea need to pull it out, Carlo needs to. I'm not sure he can get the players to be up for this.
-
The team are gonna be up against it tonight, Our midfield IMO is stronger than theirs. There attackers ( Rooney, Hernandez) are better than ours right now (on fire), both defences have flaws. Our strikers need to pull something out, Torres needs to man up asap and start notching.
