Arsenal/Wenger jokes aside ... Wenger is supposed to be a tactical manager (currently thats a joke right there), a thinking manager but his tactics are so primitive that it just makes u wonder what kind of club Arsenal are. Yesterday's game remained me very much of the Champions league QF between Juventus and Bayern where Conte’s 3 in the back was outsmarted by Bayern’s wingers (Robben and Ribery I believe, I don’t remember who the other was). They kept running behind the pockets of space left by the wingbacks with their blistering pace. Being a noob in terms of planning I always was impressed with 3 in the back and I really didn’t know at that time there could be a counter solution. That game was like an eye opener for me. Coming back to yesterday game it was very similar counter tactics, for me I drew parallel with the CL game. I just don’t get Wenger now, he didn’t change his formation for a good 15 yrs and now he moved to 3 at the back just because it is the flavor of the season without having personals to execute 3 at the back tactics. The club is in deep shit right now.

I feel that he wouldnt be effective in a single striker setup ... However, he will thrive with a 2 striker strategy or along side a attacking midfielder who wouldnt drift behind to defend. He has good movement in the box and eye for goal but he cant do a Costa for us if that is the expectation.

Have given up after so much hope from this window ... Board has ruined it big time at max we will do one and that too on the deadline day, cant see more than 1 average player coming in

3 points and really lucky one. Glad we won but we were very average in the field, clueless for most of time expect for small patches where we hit on counter in the second half. Chelsea needs to get reinforcements big time. Not sure about Morata today (maybe used to see Costa run up and down for most of the game) he's still seems in Spain it seems Bakayoko started very dicey but he actually grew in the game, hope he keeps doing. Rudigier seems to be best of the new lot today, full of passion, solid and no nonsense player. Loads of work to be done.

We need to keep possession right from the start of the second half to break Spurs's rhythm and not allow it to grow else we're will be in a spot.

Dont think this is the game that Bakayoko would be rushed into because Spurs are a very physical team and rushing a player who is coming out of injury will be difficult plus add to the fact that this could be his debut game. I m keen to see who will make the numbers in the midfield with Kante.

I hope Chelsea board are very stent in this matter because they dont have anything to lose more, the damage is already done. Costa is contractual bonded to Chelsea till the end of his contract, yes there are few things which will be used by Costa’s lawyers like he is not getting regular first team but such finer points can be fought and won by Chelsea. Chelsea are in the driver seat, I feel that Costa & his legal team are aware of the same hence they are trying to use the pity person stance in media to put pressure. If Chelsea lets this go without a fight it will only strengthen the so called player power and weaken the club on a whole.

Honestly that should not matter to Arsenal now ... They want to move away from the "Selling Club" tag, want to showcase they're big & behave as one as well and are debt free. If they sell Ox this term despite the past goof up the fans wouldnt be happy and they could have a major outburst. We have really gone from the highs of winning the PL under Conte's first season to becoming a joke in the last 2 months right from Conte sending out the text to Costa ... to lack of adding quality players ... to selling our potentials ... to adding depth to our rivals ... to screwing up in the first game. Hope we are at rock bottom now and there is some silver lining right ahead so that everyone's morale gets lift

I would still not play in the 11 if we had an upgrade. What is disappointing is that he is sold to not only a rival team but also into a system which is the perfect fit for him. It is really sad and disappointing for me because the Board goofed up big time by selling to a rival.

your opinion ... Completely respect that. But my argument would always the same like the earlier one ... Why do we have to sell him to our rival, even if that mean that we are going to get a new quality replacement. For me, Matic is like the missing piece in Jose's puzzle ... He can revive his career playing as a DM shielding the defense while giving a free hand to the other Midfielders. We are just showing that we are stupid by doing it ... the best of the analysts are baffled with this decision. Lot of the sensible United fans have been scathing their heads as to how they landed Matic. Today's game just proved that what value can Matic bring (whether he succeeds or not is in Matic's hands but he surely has a platform) ... I know it was only West Ham but yest it was only Burnley!!!

Like I said, I really hope he does get one and he really outshine so that he can leave his debut behind. Fingers Crossed!!!

I dont get this if this goes through ... We got Rudiger (why? thats another debate), we have still have Azpi, Christensen is back, Zouma on loan, Cahill (who is not going to get abandon) and Luiz. I understand the need to keep strengthening so why didnt we move for Van Dirk before Rudiger and close it out. Yes he is very good but then we have worry else where which needs to be closed not CBs currently. Not sure whats wrong with the board?
