I hope Chelsea board are very stent in this matter because they dont have anything to lose more, the damage is already done. Costa is contractual bonded to Chelsea till the end of his contract, yes there are few things which will be used by Costa’s lawyers like he is not getting regular first team but such finer points can be fought and won by Chelsea. Chelsea are in the driver seat, I feel that Costa & his legal team are aware of the same hence they are trying to use the pity person stance in media to put pressure. If Chelsea lets this go without a fight it will only strengthen the so called player power and weaken the club on a whole.

We have really gone from the highs of winning the PL under Conte's first season to becoming a joke in the last 2 months right from Conte sending out the text to Costa ... to lack of adding quality players ... to selling our potentials ... to adding depth to our rivals ... to screwing up in the first game. I would still not play in the 11 if we had an upgrade. What is disappointing is that he is sold to not only a rival team but also into a system which is the perfect fit for him. It is really sad and disappointing for me because the Board goofed up big time by selling to a rival.

your opinion ... Completely respect that. But my argument would always the same like the earlier one ... Why do we have to sell him to our rival, even if that mean that we are going to get a new quality replacement. For me, Matic is like the missing piece in Jose's puzzle ... He can revive his career playing as a DM shielding the defense while giving a free hand to the other Midfielders. We are just showing that we are stupid by doing it ... the best of the analysts are baffled with this decision. Lot of the sensible United fans have been scathing their heads as to how they landed Matic. Today's game just proved that what value can Matic bring (whether he succeeds or not is in Matic's hands but he surely has a platform) ... I know it was only West Ham but yest it was only Burnley!!!

I dont get this if this goes through ... We got Rudiger (why? thats another debate), we have still have Azpi, Christensen is back, Zouma on loan, Cahill (who is not going to get abandon) and Luiz. I understand the need to keep strengthening so why didnt we move for Van Dirk before Rudiger and close it out. Yes he is very good but then we have worry else where which needs to be closed not CBs currently. Not sure whats wrong with the board?

That is at the end of the season ... Not right now. And even if the player terminates his contract at the end of the season, the club can still fight that legally. Yes the player will be given preference but it will be a 50-50 chances. Clubs are smart that we think ... they will tell Costa to play the odd league game in between, if he does the quota is met, if he doesnt legal will say that the player refused to ply his services when asked for. At of the day, the above clause is just messy and no one wants to get into it.

Yes they can ... And if I want to be blunt then yes this is kind of corporate slavery. You can only be released if you get dumped by the club (mutual or fired), This is a big bad world of business, employers will not shell out money without covering their asses through proper legal channel else anyone can come after 1/2/3 yrs and say they dont want to play. Player rights come into play when the club is wrongly treating them when it comes to their wages, environment provided, inhumane treatment etc ... But there is no rights when it comes to where the club wants their players to play and/or refusal to sell/loan the player. Being humble and grounded goes a long way and there examples of Mata, Cech, Matic.

Formal Complaint ... Against what? The services of Costa are owned by Chelsea solely for the remaining 2 yrs (I guess that is what is left), they can use Costa the way they like and no ones will have the balls to object it legally. Regarding the Behavior stuff, Ppl just want to have their 15 mins of fame and they will come up with any BS that is possible. I hope the board are strong about this one and should let Costa see out his contract with the reserves ... They shouldnt be running to make money out of it.
