4-3-3 is probably our best formation to play with at the moment. It just lacks that creativity and technical passer in the midfield that's all, unless we played Oscar there. Cech Ivanovic-Luiz-Terry-Cole Ramires-Romeu-Oscar Moses-Torres-Hazard I think that formation has something to offer, and is much better. Don't think we will get caught out defensively to be honest, or even play Mikel instead of Ramires there, i don't rate Mikel but he could play as an alternate midfielder in the three man midfield. What Mikel can't do is play as our only defensive midfielder, as he cannot handle the reliability and what that job brings, but if we are going to keep him, may as well make use of him somehow.

The one thing what really impressed me with Hazard since first coming here, is his link up play. Seems to have a great eye for a one two pass what are so quick and cause defenders problems. If we build chemistry over a few seasons with the likes of Mata, Oscar and Hazard, the types of fast, quick small passes they could do would just be so threatening for other teams. Like Barcelona with Xavi, Messi and Iniesta, that triangle is one of the best triangles in world football, they all have that little link up play and one twos what can end up beating about 4 players once every 2 minutes. Really hard to play against. But what impressed me with Hazard was his creativity in last game, i think he could be better in that area, he's a good passer in technical terms. But doesn't seem to have the eye to pick one out, where last game he did. So it's nice to see, It's good to add more to your game and be much more dangerous.

Not derailing the thread but I'll just have my say on it. Think it's a good idea, I'm not too bothered about them but some people do deserve recognition like that. Only members who have been here for 3-5 years and have made a great impact should get them, the ones like TX and Ollie for example, who still make great posts today.

Although the Hillsborough was a tragic event, the United fans have a huge point there, they always do play victim.

You might think this is odd, but i thought this was Hazard best game for us so far. He was class every time he got the ball, should've had a penalty but never mind. Besides his finishing he was awesome, anyone see when he took on about two players then played Torres through?, he had THREE PLAYERS ON HIM, THREE!. So Torres manage to run into space, but unlucky for him i think the other centre back, not Anton, covered Torres. Great play from Hazard though. And he was doing this all game.
-
Well sometimes we can forget just how young Hazard is, he's still 21, it's amazing how young he is and how good he is for his age. And then we are going on about Sturridge's potential and he's 2 years older, still love Sturridge though and i think they will be two awesome players.
-
So what's going on here?, I'm confused, has he left Shanghai or is he staying there?.
-
Well there you go then, Bosingwa contributed as well, my whole point of this was aimed at the people who were saying Torres has contributed nothing to this club. When he has, who is to say Barca wouldn't of scored at the Nou Camp had he not?. I wouldn't put it past them, remember Iniesta?, when we absolutely smashed them at the Bridge and they get a last minute goal.
-
Yeah but did that happen? no it didn't. It's like saying if a striker scores a winner in a match, it doesn't mean anything, because just before that he lost the ball and if it wasn't for Bob who was the left back who intercepted it, it would of been a goal against them. That striker who scored is WORTH IT, because he got that goal, that's the point. What happened, happened, and Torres won that corner rather than being the prick who lost the ball and got us kicked out of the CL. He did good, weather it was luck on his side or not, he did the right thing, and he was worth something.
-
What an exaggerated post, tell me where one of us said it was more important than Drogba's goal?, you're doing nothing for your argument here besides looking like an idiot.
-
I'm not a Torres supporter, I'm always going on about the bunch of idiots who follow him more than the club. But Torres done it in the big moment, Ashley Cole clearance, still could've came back, it was a glorious night. And Cech didn't save it against Messi, Messi hit the bar, so there's no arguement there. Torres won that corner, so give him some respect rather than jumping on his back all the time and say he's done nothing. Because i would pay 50 million for that corner, and I'll tell you why, because i would pay for 50 million for a Champions League any day if i was rich. We had a few minutes left, i seriously doubt we would of came back, the corner was our last and final chance in that game, with about 3 minutes left so yeah.
-
You can say Torres hasn't done anything, but as stupid as this sounds, if he never of won that corner in the CL Final, we wouldn't of won it.

I said before Robbie got the contract, that he is untested in two things, and these two things are VITAL for a top manager to have. Wise in the market... As i like to call it, i think he's been fairly poor here, instead of solving out the double pivot problems, he went on to buy three attackers and a right back. He also should've bought a striker. Instead we let the likes of Raul Meireles and Michael Essien go, and keep John Obi Mikel, who will never be able to play in this system. Frank Lampard also, he cannot play in double pivot, end of. And then we have Oriol Romeu, very talented kid and very underrated by the fans on here, but he doesn't play anymore. And it's not wise to have him as our only back up for DM. The double pivot is what will be the death of us this season I'm afraid. Just like last season when we had the wrong players to play 4-3-3, we now have the same thing with 4-3-2-1. I can see us changing formation but in a panic scenario unfortunately. Philosophy... Last season we played 4-2-3-1 under Robbie, but it wasn't really a system it was just putting players in positions and telling them to do this, now this is our consistent formation and we are playing to win games and play attractive football, rather than holding out. I can't complain with the attackers, we have a great option of them, but the double pivot is so weak, i get scared when the other team is on the break. It's like Di Matteo doesn't know what he's doing, this isn't the right formation for the players we have right now. I wanted this season to be a season where our new team gel together, but it seems that it's going to be a season where we will end up changing formation, bad results coming in, bad season, Robbie's sacked and then we are back to square one. So opinion on Robbie... I don't think he's the right man for the job because of what I've seen, yes it's very early, but who can look at this squad and the performances and say 'we are going somewhere' you're just delusional if you can do that and mean it. I think Pep Guardiola will be our manager soon enough, and maybe it might be a good thing, he's a huge gamble unfortunately. But his spirit and way of playing was just class, and we have a lot of creative attackers, maybe he could come here and do some impressive things. However i want Robbie to achieve, because he's a club legend, and a great fucking player in his time. I prey to god that he will succeed and all this will blow over. Good luck to Robbie and lets hope the season starts getting better.
-
Well i can't say he hasn't proved me wrong before because he has, so i will give him time. I've just heard a lot of people on here go on about his finishing and it's not something I've seen much of, i didn't really see him in front of goal that much for Lillie either to judge. It's not really a style mate, he should be burying it, i know what you mean by not being one dimensional, for example some strikers will power it in, the next chance they get they will tap it into the bottom corner. But Hazards finish was bad, it was a little tap but that wasn't the problem, the accuracy was right at the keeper, Cesar didn't have to do anything, no keeper in the world would let that in. And we had this guy in our 6 a side leisure league who let in 10 goals, 6 of them his errors.
-
Needs to finish better than that, first chance he has to put more effort in it, should be a goal. Second one, harder than it looks, but he should be hitting the target there, however we've seen a lot of those missed, for example Busquets against us last season at the Bridge.
-
That's just looking at it in a positive way though, in my opinion that does you no favours or even justifies a point. Because you could easily say, well last season Newcastle 3-0, 2-0 QPR 6-1, 0-0 Wigan 2-1, 2-0 At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it's home or away, infact none of this matters at all, squads are different, Wigan and QPR look much different especially, when you count new players. We can't base off results from last season, because to be honest if it's even close to the results we got last season, we better start spending 500 million RIGHT NOW.
-
Easily, i can see Juventus murdering us to be honest this game. Going to be a horrible time, just wait till we play Arsenal... oh you just wait, there counter attack will fucking rape us.
-
And you seem to forget this is a league, it doesn't consist of a few games. The reason why we will never be in contention with the league at the moment is because we aren't consistent enough, you could see that from a mile away. Look how bad we where defensively against the likes of Reading and Wigan, the only game i seen where we smashed it was Newcastle. That was because Pardew tried to out play us rather than let us come and counter attack. This game against QPR could of been anyone's, and i personally think that is disgusting as we should be the better side and by a big margin. Derby or not the problems QPR have had recently we should be giving them more problems than they give us. ANTON FERDINAND CENTRE BACK?, and NO GOALS?. You must be fucking having a laugh. Teams will get the better of us later in the season, we have to make changes just like every team does. Manchester City never did that last season and teams worked them out, it almost cost them the title and to be honest it should've done. How Ferguson bottled 8 points in 6 games is beyond me.
-
Titus Bramble blessing in disguise for Liverpool. He always has had slow reactions, that's his problem, everything is so fast for him and he never reacts, always far too late for challenges and making stupid clearances like that, it's like he just panicks. Unfortunately for him he's actually quite a good tackler, if he had decent reactions he would of established a much better Premier League career.
-
You people stop fucking complaining, this is a forum, anyone can voice there opinion. It clearly says you can vote 'too early to say' as well, so stop complaining about it. We had a worrying display and haven't even looked that good despite the 10 points in four games. Only calm game was against Newcastle. Unfortunately Muzchap you have to get used to this, you will get grief for this but just get past it. As for my opinion on it, i said he's a huge gamble before the season, but i did say he deserves the go for what he did. He did an amazing thing last season he must've won the players. But we haven't seen the tactical and consistent side of him yet, he has tonnes of pressure on him. Jamie Redknapp said earlier in the season that Pep Guardiola is going to be constantly brought up whenever our side is performing badly. Roman loves atractive football and we all know that, he's going to favor Guardiola if things don't work out. I want Di Matteo to show more confidence in our signings, for example play Azpic instead of Ivanovic. And Sturridge needs to play over Torres at the moment.
-
Ramires is a fucking idiot, he has Sturridge there with shit loads of space and he passes it to lampard who is marked to fuck.
-
Whoever made those points about Hazard needs to be a better finisher, you were certainly right.
-
HOW THE FUCK HAS HE DONE THAT...
-
Obviously they're the best players in the world.
-
Terry off now please.
