If the option is auba or bust, i will gladly go with bust. I will give the opportunity to broja to show us what he is got. And just because we need goals, we should get any striker available? Might as well give Falcao another try, right? There is risk and then there is downright stupidity. I know exactly which category i will put the auba transfer. Also, please stop reiterating this "we need goals" argument. Everyone and anyone following Chelsea knows that. How is auba the solution? That is the debate here. And he is no solution.

Exactly. Exactly this. @Kong

Dear god the fact, that no where have I said that we should bring back Lukaku. But auba is NOT the answer to our issues. Auba is not the answer to anything other than another striker added to the list of has Beens that we took a punt on. Pato, Falcao, higuain, etoo. None of them worked. Auba is just another one for that list, a has been who will struggle in one of the most fast paced leagues in the world. I did not want lukaku to be here when the season started, but if the alternative is spending 30m on a 33 year old has been, i will take Lukaku and all his problems gladly. You don't cover up a mistake with another mistake. We will end up having 2 useless strikers on heavy and high wages. Dear god, please understand the point being made instead of arguing against some hypotheticals. Even if you remove the 30m, auba is still not a good fit. We saw at arsenal that he has lost some pace and a lot of energy. He can't be anywhere near the levels we need for our pressing game. Kai may not score goals, but that does not mean you buy anyone off the market. Auba does NOT make us better. It's going to end up just like higuain, only worse as its a permanent transfer and we are going to be stuck with him

Dear god. 😒

Definitely short by 1 if not 2 players.

I have not? I have proven that Lukaku is one of the best goal scorers around and definitely has a better track record than auba in the near past I have proven that my nick has got nothing to do with my opinion as you had so vehemently suggested in your first take. At the end of it all, nothing, nothing makes sense about this transfer. It's one problem for another. Both players were good strikers (one of them still in prime, another definitely past it). One of them of 30 years old, another 33 and relies far more on pace. Giving auba a 3 year deal while paying him astronomical wages as well as paying Barca 30m€ and helping them in their crisis is one of the instances of the worst pieces of business out there in the footballing world. Also, i would really like to know your source. Because as per transfermarkt, auba has scored only 68 PL goals. So need to check your facts BEFORE doing any maths mate.
-
Makes no sense to me. CB - Silva, KK, azpi, LwB - chilwell, cucurella Rwb - James. Thats 6 players for 5 positions. Maybe 7 if we include RLC as a valid option for RWB. Chalobah is a solid player. Considering how old our CB options are as well as how thin we are, we should be looking to have him here.
-
Fair. Though I won't mind such a deal for auba. We can take on his wages for a year and 7-8m in fees. It's definitely way better than this 30m fees and wages for 3 years. Think about having him when he is 36years old. Unbelievable how we are been duped. Ideally we should be no where near auba
-
Point? Did we buy him on the insistence of the manager? Or did we safeguard ourselves with a 6 month loan to see if he was actually up for it?
-
We "bought" him? Really? 😂😂 Seems like i am not the one in need of a refresher course about CFC lad. Lol indeed. You sure ain't have a good day, are you?
-
How many goals did Lukaku scored in PL? Do you know that? Can you write that down? And yes, i will dismiss his performances at the age of 30 because this is a striker who thrived on pace. Do you know the first thing that declines post 30? Your problem with the whole scenario is your dismissive attitude. I gave my opinion based on sound reasoning and you acted like it was blasphemy. And now all you are doing is changing goal posts when I have proven that Lukaku had a better record in the PL compared to the striker we are looking to get. Stop floundering and accept it for once.
-
And Lukaku does not? The same one who was dubbed as "the king of milan". Auba's goals at Barca mean nothing. Their play style is significantly different, their chance creation is different, the amount of space and the quality of defenders you face. Buying auba is the level of foolishness that we could do. It is similar to buying higuain under sarri, luckily we had a heirarchy and people with balls to say "No" to the manager at that point of time.
-
Why would you exchange one for another? We are rid of Lukaku, why would you buy auba of all people? Wait, a 33 year old has been with attitude issues. Easily one of the worst replacements i have seen.
-
Why? We are replacing Lukaku with auba. Auba is coming here to fill in the no. 9 position so it's obvious the comparisons will be there. We are spending 25m on a 33 year old has been and paying him 200kpw for it. Someone who is as disruptive in the dressing rooms and having worse performance and numbers. Sorry, but i would not want to get cancer just to be rid off aids. Absolutely mental the whole scenario
-
I am not saying to get Lukaku back. But i would not shoot myself by getting auba or Darren bent or kalou for him. Getting auba for Lukaku is a downgrade, syphilitic bears be involved or not
-
He was? Really? He scored 4 goals in half a season playing 15 PL games. Infact he played 1040 minutes and scored 4 goals. Lukaku last season played 1584 PL minutes and scored 8 goals. While not being the primary penalty taker where as auba was as far as i remember. So by which was he better than Lukaku, care to explain? Or are you more interested in discussing nicks
-
Hmmm. Just wondering why someone would be more interested in the nick rather than actually making his/her point about the actual argument. Unless there is no point to be made. How did auba perform at arsenal in his final year(s)? How is he as a character in the dressing room? These are far more important points and parameters to be discussed given the argument rather than someone's nick.
-
Absolutely mental. Any manager/coach who wants auba over Lukaku or Werner deserves a right bollocking. Shambles
-
You can see why rwb suits him. Gives him the space to start his motor. And when once he is on the run, physically and technically he is so good that it's difficult to stop him. Also it helps him by not having the game literally pass him half the time. He can be a good Swiss knife as a rwb, cm, cam utility player.
-
Rlc and jorgi in mid... God help us !!!
-
I think anyone can score goals if they just kept shooting mindlessly about 20 times a game from 30 yards out. I would rather have a player who can actually run and play football than be a one trick pony. I don't agree with everything TT does, but can't disagree with him freezing out ziyech.
-
RW. He will be our 5th choice forward i think behind sterling, Kai, mount, broja. As well as being a decent option for a rwb back up. If the numbers of 25m + add ons are right, not a poor deal. He will be far better as a back up than ziyech or Puli.
-
This. Not just fdj. If he does not want to come to Chelsea, bin him too. Get declan. Makes us much better instantly. Binning jorginho is paramount.
