Don't understand the Kudus hype. Never Chelsea quality. Summerville looked interesting though.
-
Typical Utd, bought the ref and only manage to absolutely steal a 0-0, that club is totally finished and at this point it is kind of embarrassing for the PL tbh
-
Palace will be devastated if they don't win this. Man Utd a team they should clearly be beating at home.
-
You know tonnes of opposition fans tuned in to hate watch us too... Just to watch us effortlessly 3-0 West Ham away

Enzo Maresca is just the eighth manager in Premier League history to win each of his first three away games in the competition, and he is the first to do so since Pep Guardiola in September 2016. Chelsea have won five consecutive away top-flight matches for the first time since December 2021 under Thomas Tuchel.

Love Gary. So much better seeing him out there talking about Chels and not Obi Mikel. Also feeling very vindicated putting NJ in my fantasy team all season and I slotted in Sanchez before this game too. Do regret putting in Madueke tho...
-
I agree it makes no sense. It must mean that a single player scored a brace that quickly in a game for us.
-
Had NJ in my fantasy team all season, no regrets
-
I assume what they really mean is the earliest a single player scored a brace that quickly in a game since Drogba? I'm sure we've gone 2-0 up many times quickly in games since 2004... For example, in the 6-0 against Arsenal, I'm pretty sure we were 2-0 up in 7 mins or so

Enzo shocking these days tbh, where has all the technical skill and intelligence gone, best thing I can see about him is he's a dirty little shit and he wont let us be the nice guys on the field that's for sure..but where is the quality?
-
That's another £50k fine for the ref in my book. Blind as a bat. How is he employed?
-
Need to start fining ref + VAR if they perform this poorly. So damaging for the game.
-
I said fantastic at staying within the rules, finding loopholes, etc. Certainly they have not been fantastic overall. I would argue overall they've been pretty poor.
-
Interesting Maresca very clear in his press conference - although some times he may play players in different positions for individual games, his view is very clear on the players and where they play for him, he wants 2 players per position and he sees it like this: RW = Pedro + Noni LW = Sancho + Mudryk Attacking midfielder = Cole + Felix 9 = Jackson + Nkunku

Of course it is not implausible, but Keith Wyness states it as a fact that we have breached the rules and that we are getting banned. The rules are extraordinarily complicated and to know if you are in breach and to what extent you need to work at the football club and understand how they are doing the accounting. Our situation is unbelievably complicated for loads of reasons including the forced takeover due to Government sanctions, and many other factors - it is completely impossible to know what is going to happen and anyone that says otherwise obviously has an agenda and has a lack of interest in honesty. What do know is so far the owners have been fantastic at finding a way to stay within the rules and have clearly thought deeply with the best advisors on how to run the club from a financial and accounting perspective.
-
Lol, another known Chelsea hater says everything is doom and gloom and we are 100% getting banned, club due to be dissolved, there's someone saying it every week for years and years Not only he says we are definitely in breach of the rules (which he cannot know) but also what our punishment would be if we are (which he also cannot know). Of course he assumes absolute worst in both cases Typical sensationalist nonsense.

So glad I don't pay for Sky these days. Cannot stand the state of it with the pundits they're using. All that money and they can't string together an intelligent group to talk about football for 15 mins at half time. So many possible people they could go for, from the various ex-footballers who clearly had high IQ, to various managers either currently out of a job or retired. Even some of the content creators on Youtube and Twitter are 100x more intelligent and insightful than the lot Sky put together. What a fucking waste of money.
-
Some referees just want to make the game about them, thin skin, no understanding of the game or ability to keep their cool and think about the game on a deeper level. Still, rather he be a ref than a policeman, he'd probably be arresting and/or shooting at random Chelsea fans just for existing.
-
Was Sancho our signing of 2024? Early days but might be a ridiculously big upgrade on LW after putting up with Sterling, Mudryk and CHILWELL.
-
Jammy win, the type we used to get all the time when we were good. We're back baby! Hope the ref takes early retirement.
-
The XI + bench certainly feels a lot better than last season, even with some key players out. Excited to have real football back. Also we usually look way better away from home with our excellent away support. Kinda hopeful & curious to see Sancho come off the bench today.
-
Injury management I guess. Bad pitches, low quality opposition, tournament that is just to give some minutes to squad players. Logical. Is Nkunku in the squad? Probably a little damning about where he's viewed in the pecking order if so...those 3 are obviously being protected as they are viewed as important for EPL. Poch would have had them starting every game and doing the Gacon test daily in prep.
-
Reece is probably next in the bomb squad unfortunately...
-
To be fair, that is very encouraging - there is the chance that Osimhen has been awfully misrepresented here. Guess we'll see what decisions he makes in January to find out. Should never have come to this, worst case scenario should have been a dry loan to Chelsea - if he wanted to be taken seriously as a top player.
-
He was playing as a right sided 8/10 vs a deep block, as far as I recall. The strategy to break it down was for Caicedo to drop very deep (literally into the back line) and progress the ball down the sides of the field, before playing it inside, OR after players get dragged around and sucked towards Caicedo, play it into the gap left in midfield which someone (Palmer or Enzo) then had to drop into to receive and turn. It was pretty effective at times but definitely very ineffective at times too - we looked more threatening in some of the moments where he chose not to drop deep for it. Very much WIP like everything the team is doing, frustrating but inevitable. I am sure this is not "the way we're using him now" or something but just the way he may have to play some times vs deep blocks as an inevitable consequence if teams will play a 5-3 structure at the back against us.
