I dunno man, you speak with a lot of confidence that he would get plenty of minutes but the fact is he's been shipped off on loan twice and got basically no game time in his PL loan. He is currently playing for a 13th placed Ligue 1 team. We are second in the Premier League man. It is very unlikely that Santos is ready to play a lot of minutes for a team at our level. It would only be out of complete desperation he would play in my opinion - Enzo, Lavia and Caicedo all out and maybe he gets considered, but even then I am not sure he would play - probably Enzo would look to Gusto, Cucurella and even KDH first.
-
That was the kind of argument we had for being pro Raheem Sterling too - this would be just as huge a mistake if not bigger. When you're washed you're washed. Happens to some of these England players pretty early it seems as they get fat pay cheques when they're super young on long term deals, and have often started playing a lot of football at a young age too. They just look totally out of love with the game, strolling around and focusing on their own stats over contributing to the team. Which in the end hurts their stats.
-
Um, not sure on that. We already serious jeopardised this kids career and now you want to recall him from loan to be a bit part player for us for the rest of this season too... Are we trying to permanently burn bridges with this guy? I can see the call making sense if Caicedo was injured too but feels a bit bizarre and frankly quite brutal to ruin this young man's season and further damage his career just to play in the Conference league with poss some PL minutes. If we recall someone just to have cover then Ugo would be the obvious choice as he would probably play more for us than he has for Southampton as he could play in Conference league.

Rashford is totally outside of our MO these days - old Chelsea yes, for sure, but never these days. He looks semi retired to me, just seeing out his playing years to maximise his income. Salary too high, age too high, and most importantly he'd be lucky to get a game in the Conference league for us.

Depressing but true. Spurs fans would absolutely love to lose today.
-
Noni was useless to be fair, one of the worst and most ineffective sub appearances I've seen in a while For me probably the most interesting thing would have been to see Felix but who knows how effective he would have been either. Tough opposition in tough conditions. It is what it is. Last year we would have lost a game like this 3-0.

Maybe you should see a therapist buddy

Personally I like that the Sean Dyche's of the world exist and still compete in PL. Keeps things interesting - just don't want too many of them. Worth remembering in the end, everyone has to face these teams home and away and if other teams do better than us against them then fair enough on them, we should have been better. What are they supposed to do, make it easy for us?

And then a brilliant cross field ball from Colwill to show why he plays, even though he can't defend.
-
Colwill poor as usual
-
Pickford could have had about 3 yellows this half alone
-
Lol surely a game has to be called off if the wind is this bad. This just silly.
-
I assume we want Disasi for corners. Going to be a tough game, Sean Dyche is one of the last of a dying breed at this level of football.
-
Guiu is gonna make it you know. Don't know if it will be with us but this guy is gonna at least match Solanke's career.
-
Holy shit he clattered the post there, hope he is alright

Watching these games just makes me embarrassed on Nkunku's behalf. From being perhaps the best second striker in the world to playing against Shamrock Rovers on a Thursday night.

Video doesn't even bother me that much - when I watched it I had the feeling it is really his Dad is a big Man Utd fan and it was almost like his Dad intentionally wants to start a beef with Chelsea fans, and Mase just looks awkward and doesn't know what to say to him. What's he gonna do when his Dad says it is special - in front of the camera - tell him the truth which is money is the only thing that interests him? Money Mase lost my respect and support when he started to focus heavily on building Brand Mount - he quickly built a hugely inflated ego that needed popping, which surely has happened now. It was evident on the field as much as off it - he strutted around really thinking he was the King and the other players were there to support him. They will surely tear that number 7 shirt from him soon - hilarious and embarrassing that he is wearing it for them. Him hiring a PR company that uses Matt Law as a mouth piece to write pro-Mount/anti-Chelsea articles was the final straw that left him totally dead to me. Basically directly taking his Chelsea wages to pay a known journo to slag us off - talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I honestly think the fans and club were both very good to him and he spat in our face out of pure, undisguised greed and arrogance. Fuck him.

Wait and see what the story is I guess. My gut feel is that Mudryk does not need or want drugs to get an athletic advantage. He's an athletic freak naturally. He does seem stupid enough to take something without understanding what it is though. Who knows. On the plus side, from what I recall about the financial rules, in extraordinary circumstances you can write off or heavily write down money spent, from a book keeping / fair play perspective. So its likely the outcome of this is that we will go from a situation where Mudryk barely played but was down as a large FFP cost to a situation where he doesn't play at all and is totally written off from a FFP perspective. Obviously Boehly & Clearlake will be out of pocket in real £ terms though, even if they go after Misha they will never recover anything significant... But I doubt that, as fans, this will impact us really at all in any way we'll notice...
-
Colwill needs to improve a lot at the defensive side of the game, but he is only 21 so it feels pretty normal. He will become quite a player in his mid 20s I imagine. If we are patient with him... I find him as exhausting as Sanchez personally but still think they are the best options we have in the squad at the mo on balance.
-
Pretty great that people feel the need to have the debate though! For myself I find the whole conversation about whether clubs are in the race or not a bit silly. One can argue the whole top 6 or so are involved in the race still as plenty of games left and the gap to #1 is small in that context. It is just kind of meaningless. We shouldn't be building expectations a club should win something in the near future unless they have a history of winning things in the recent past. We could win the title this year but it is not a likely scenario compared to, for example, having a blip from an injury crisis that drives us down to 4th.

I said who is a clear upgrade on him, rather than just someone that could in truth just flop and end up being worse or perform at a similar level. Haaland is the only name I can think of that would be pretty much guaranteed a big upgrade. Can't really think of any others, but who knows. Very few elite number 9s these days, but I could be wrong of course... Feel free to suggest some names. I don't see Osimhen for example as a clear upgrade, rather he would be a huge gamble that could have huge upside or be a total disaster.
-
Agreed. He does miss some annoying shots but all of our great players did, people just forget... Not many clear upgrades on NJ in the world. Haaland and who? I do think we are short up front because Nkunku has not really banged and at any rate is not really a proper 9, and if NJ gets injured or has AFCON we will be short. But as competition / rotation for NJ, not replacement. He's one of the most promising signings we've made in years and only 23.
-
Either Duran or Samu would have been good additions to the squad to compete with NJ but this thread was filled with endless pages of people raging about either
-
On the other hand why mess with a team that is winning? I would keep any purchases minimal personally, unless we see unique opportunities... Who is going to sell us a world class CB or GK in January? Also, why are you calling them Clownlake? We are second in the fucking league under their management right now. Mistakes in the early days were under Boehly and since Clearlake kicked him out of the driver's seat and really took charge we've seen a pretty serious turnaround...
-
He for sure is the one player I would hate if I were an opposition fan... Proper wind up merchant. I kind of like it and I kind of hate it. Glad he's at least our cunt, and not someone else's. He is a dark art merchant. Arteta would love him.
