Thats really an absurd way to defend Mourinho. Its just unbeliveable how far some people go. To be honest I never see anyone paying attention for "minutes per interception" and "minutes per tackle" stats coming from players like Neymar, Messi and Robben. I just can't imagine City, United, Barcelona, Real or Bayern dropping an attacking player because he won't defend well against a team in the botton of the table.
-
He wins trophies, and nobobdy is even debating this, what people are discussing is if that strategy work on the long term. He is winning trophies for over a decade, but not with the same team. He won a PL last season, and somehow his tactics paid off, but right now what really matter is not what happened in the past. I also beleive its time to come up with "Fergie" every time someone want to defend a manager. Its not wrong with a manager wants to criticize a player, the problem is the reason why and the timing.
-
1st half and City 4-1. I remember a talk about how Messi and Barcelona would struggle in PL, because La Liga teams have bad defense. Ther is an example: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/players/cristiano-ronaldo/11279459/Cristiano-Ronaldo-and-Lionel-Messi-are-too-good-for-La-Liga-it-should-not-be-this-easy.html The guys is almost saying both player should be playing in Premier League. At this point we all know this talk is rubbish. Its not La Liga's teams that have a bad defense, what happened is during many years PL teams were not interested in scoring as many goals as possible. In 2009/10 season we scored more than 100 goals, and I think that season there were two 8-0 results, and many 5-0/6-0. We even destroyed Aston Villa 8-0 in 2012, before Mourinho introduced his "too afraid to lose" football philosophy.
-
Just like Cuadrado situation. Usually the player is introduced when there is 15 or 10 minutes left, then if he start one or two games and doesn't have the game of his life he will be discarded after 6 months.
-
No one is talking about balls or lack of ball (actually the balls talk was a excuse Mourinho introduced seasons ago to explaing why his team was playing a poor football). There is no problem at all when a player is droppes, the problem is the reason why. Hazard was dropped bacause the team was conceding too many goals. Its like dropping Terry because the team is not scoring enough goals.
-
I think its really funny that the same people who were talking about "long term" when the club was firing AVB, RDM and Ancelotti, are the same using the argument "Mourinho won the PL last season", or are the ones who believe a victory is enough fo forget the problems.I still believe he will be sacked before the season, because every game the always come up with a crap. He was sayng Hazard was 2nd best player in the world last season, and now he is getting benched because he is not as good as Ramires. Matic was humilliated last game, and Jose spent days talking about RLC being the future, only to drop him after 45 minutes and introduce Matic again. The mand benched Hazard because he was affraid of conceding goal for Aston Villa, probably a "top 3 worst teams Chelsea will face this season". I mean, he wasn't dropping Hazard because he wasnt creating enought attacking chances, but because the team was conceding too many goals. He even praised Pedro, who was a garbage today. Quite depressing.

The good: more 3 points in the relegation battle. The bad: football was not a top 4 finish material.
-
Same as his last games. Scored a goal that even Ivanovic would and got an own goal from a shoot that was a cross.
-
Villa is doing the job. Own goal + gave away a goal.
-
I would like to now whos the one buying players. Why in the hell is Pedro a Chelsea player at this moment is beyond me.
-
Mourinho wasn't happy with RLC, after spending days strangely praising the player.
-
Very bad football in this 1st half. Villa gave away a goal, otherwise the game would be a boring 0x0.
-
25 minutes of lazy football so far.
-
So he already decided what he is going to do next season.
-
Thats why he is getting sacked if results don't improve.
-
No news untill next game. Only non stories. Tomorrow another ex-player will say Jose will survive, base in his own opinion, next day a manager will give his opinion about the subject, and the another squad player will insist the squad is fully behind Mourinho.

Interesting article about the "dread vote of confidence": http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/managers/jose-mourinho/11914650/How-long-does-Jose-Mourinho-have-at-Chelsea-after- receiving-dreaded-vote-of-confidence.html "Clearly, when a board is forced into a position where it feels it is necessary to voice their support for the manager, they are already considering his role at the club." Even found this in the Liverpool Forum, some fans saying they should act quicly and grab Klopp as soon as possible: http://forums.liverpoolfc.com/threads/378658-Mourinho-gets-the-dreaded-vote-of-confidence To be honest, If I wanted Mourinho to stay, I would be really worried about the official statement from days ago.
-
To be fair with Jose Mourinho, the board is also to blame for this situation. For me its clear that people making decisions are making making a strange job. For example, before Mourinho came back, the club was investing in a specific kind of player: young players with attacking insticts, the team even had a wild CB who dreamed about being a striker. Oscar, Mata, Hazard, KDB,William, Schurle,Azpilicueta (I know he came when Mourinho already was the manager, but for me its clear Willian was actually a club signing). Then, what the board do, they just hire Jose Mourinho. Probably the most negative great manager ever, known for ultra conservative approach and for being more concerned about not losing than winning a fucking game. Many people forget that, when Jose Mourinho was hired back in 2013, he was talking attacking football!!! He kept that talk for at least 4 months, but there is a big problem, Mourinho just doesn't know how to do it. The results were not appearing, the defense was conceding too many goals, and and the attack wasn't creating enough chances. As fas as early december, he was still talking about attacking football, despite average results, some his quotes todays are just unbeliveable: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10509004/Chelsea-will-not-compromise-attacking-approach-says-manager-Jose-Mourinho.html "But Mourinho was adamant Chelsea's style will not be altered, in comments which could be interpreted as a veiled criticism of predecessor Rafael Benitez. The Chelsea boss said: 'Am I going to change the style and play more defensive players? No. Am I going to play David Luiz in front of the central defenders? No. 'Am I going to play with four plus two and the wingers closing behind and leaving Fernando in attack waiting for a counter attack, waiting for a long ball to try to win 1-0? No. 'We go in the same direction.'" Can you believe that? Jose Mourinho saying he would never change his "attacking" aproach, criticizing Benitez for being defensive, and saying he would never leave a srtiker alone, wainting for a counter attack and wingers closing behind!!!! Everybody know what happened in the rest of tha season, and months later Luiz, KDB, Mata, Schurle and Lukaku would be playing elsewhere, while Willian was turned into a second righ back, while the team was buying back a very unidimensional DM in Matic. For me its clear one thing: when the club got Mourinho back, he was supposed to take the best out of the squad a play an attacking football. Somehow, that got lost in the process. Perhaps Mourinho pointed that results is what matter, and when the team became consertavite again, the results appeared. Perhaps he got a point, since next season the team ended the season as PL Champions. Okay, Mourinho still had two more year in his contract. 2 years. Then, the club offer a contract extension and give him 2 more years. To honest, what club in the world would do such a thing at this point? The manager completed only 50% of the current contract, and then you give him more years. To be honest its pretty simple, I know there is an obession in England with "building a dinasty", but people just don't understand that Alex Fergunson was unique case. You just need to see what happend with every big european club in the past 10 years, and its going to be really hard to find a single club who had the same manager for more than 3 years, let alone 6. Football is really dynamic, building a manager dinasty is not what is happening around, it doesn't mean you have to fire your manager every season, but giving a manager, who is under contract, a extention with two more seasons yet to be played, just doesn't make any sense. Few weeks after the cotract extension, the club releases a "public support" that basically says the results must improve or the manager will get fired. Even the RDM situation was an idication that people making decisions are not confident enough to make the right decisions. RDM was not a proper manager, but he was named for the job because the club didn't have the balls to say" thank you, but thats it". They were too affraid of the reaction coming from the press and from fans who believed he deserved the job as a sign of gratitude.
-
Really lazy to come up with "player power" at this stage.
-
To ne honest, that statement was a little strange. I was reading the news today, and everyone is talking about this statement, and then I went to official site and found this: "The club wants to make it clear that Jose continues to have our full support. As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team's performances must improve. However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it." Pretty short, and it seems no more than a strategic formality. I don't want to sound negative, but it just more pressure on Mourinho's shoulders. Its not common when a sports club release an official statement saying "we support the coach". They are actually recognizing there is a situation involving the manager, and he "continues" to have full support, and the team's performances MUST improve, and "we" have the right manager AND he has the right squad. Well, Mourinho is in the press and is talking about sacking and asking the club to "take responsabilities". The club releases an official statement saying Mourinho has full support, so now its a public support, at the same time the club is making one thing clear: Mourinho has the right players to turn thing around. If Mourinho is fired, no one will say that "lack of support" was the reason why. There is no excuses here.
-
In the same interview he said the doesn't know what happened between Mourinho and "the doctor", and that was something discussed with Mourinho, "the doctor" and "the board", and he doesn't know a thing about the situation. Right.
-
If every club the world had the same conservative point of view as yours, there would be no plance for people like Guardiola, Klopp and Simeone and...Jose Mourinho, who was considered an average Joe for everyone outside Portugal Joe 2004.
-
Last time we sacked a top manager (Ancelotti), we won a UCL one year later.
-
Another amazing contribuition for the whole discussion.
-
Are those quotes genuine? I remember last year he came up with this: "I remember in my first period here, if you have a goalkeeper like Petr Cech who puts the ball in the opponents' box, and a striker like Didier Drogba who wins everything in the air, why play short? Because you are stupid?"
