Let's just hope their team is as overconfident as their fans are in the Chelsea thread on RedCafe. I get the excitement after a win over PSG in Paris, but they are a bit ridiculous.
I watched it twice. Our attack did not seem dreadful to me. We got the ball into good places many times. We just didn't finish getting it into the net. After watching it the second time I am actually very encouraged going forward.
I was very happy with the defense and how controlled we were on the pitch. Finding a spot for Mount is not going to help our front four learn to work together. If Mount is not good enough for midfield, he becomes a sub.
I think it is important to remember that when he came back from International duty, the tests they ran did not show a major injury. I hope he is fit and in the lineup. I really want us to start a roll and win CL matches and climb the table while the gap is small.
I just hope Silva is in and Pulisic starts on the left wing.
In the U.S. they are giving the Manu vs Chelsea game more hype than I have seen for a PL game. They plugged it on Sunday Night Football which has a large audience. I think the phrase they have been using is Pulisic and his Chelsea team.
I think they are weak in depth, but they have talent in their starters. They have several that are underperforming, I think that can be said for every team.
Seeing how they are in 14th...yes. I have two good friends that are Manu and Arsenal fans, so I get pleasure from following Chelsea through good and bad, and watching bad things happen to ManU and Arsenal.
No top team should be up 2-0 over a lower tier team and end up 3-3. It just means they are not a top tier team. I understand it takes time for the team to come together, but at some point with this much talent, time is going to run out.
I do believe if Frank cannot sort out the defense by Christmas, we will have someone else managing the team. The absolute carnage on defense was poor coaching. Those players are not shit.
