The US team has not played players that have small injuries in meaningless friendlies. It might be to our determent. Some players in the recent past have just said no thanks to the call ups.
If you followed Ajax while Ziyech was there, he was out with injuries like Pulisic. Some players just don't have a the bodies that can take the pounding of professional sports.
Much bigger than playing these friendlies is getting the team together so they can play together for games that do count toward qualifying for World Cup. The team does need to train together.
They showed the warm up when Puli got injured. He slipped going for the ball, went down awkwardly, and knew instantly something was wrong. Looked like a groin pull. He was not limping walking off, so hopefully it is small.
