I have read he is interested and they want him. It would be a big step if they were to pull it off. I also read they plan on 50M pounds in January when they can spend up to 140M. I doubt Simeone would appreciate that.

I do not know how Spurs got such a following in the US, but before Pulisic joined the team, Man United and Spurs sold the most merchandise in the US market. Since Pulisic joined, Chelsea is selling more than Man United...which is a lot. The Midwest has really adopted Chelsea. Although the midwest is not as populated as the East Coast and West Coast, those fans are loyal to clubs and players. So he opened that loyal fan base. I do not know how to quantify that into money gained.

NBC shows a lot more Chelsea matches on their major channel NBC instead of NBCSN, USA, or Peacock streaming. So he is promoting Chelsea in a big effort. Commercials aside from Chelsea game promos are not big, but he is soft spoken and does not have a big personality.

I think the US fans are more accustomed to him not playing if they followed him at Dortmund. I didn't watch all the games at Dortmund, but I did occasionally. It is a small segment of the US sports scene that even pays attention to him. He is recognizable, but only by name for most sports fans. I cannot think of any commercial that I have ever seen him in on US tv?

He has MLS written all over him. He will be on much lower wages and no MLS team will pay anywhere near what he sold for the last time.

Werner definitely missed an unbelievable amount of shots last year. I think this possession type of football misses oportunities for both players to hit long runs. I also do not think Tuchel wants the players to hold back on long passes that both players can chase down with their speed when those oportunities are there.

We havent become good at releasing the ball early for Rom or even Werner so they can go chase it down. He has not been dominate, but also have not played to his or Werner’s strengths. Even with his current form, his history suggests he is due to go on a run of games against shit teams putting in a lot of goals. If there is a silver lining, we might be in strong for Haaland.
