Well, I firmly believe Cesc was bought for the deeper positions so I don't think about it in that way, and unless we're moving to a 4-3-3, if we required another CAM James would be a brilliant buy.
-
If we are selling Oscar, James would be the best replacement we could make.

They already are - some are saying the only better central midfielders they can sign are Modric, Pogba or Vidal.

He's back again guys

There is a difference between wanting to become the complete striker and thinking you already are when you really aren't.I actually want Romelu to stay but the guy thinks he's got the right to be a number one striker at a top club like CFC, and that is delusion because he isn't already one of the best in the world unlike someone like Courtois. He needs to humble himself and accept that he still has a lot to learn. There's a massive difference between being the top dog at WBA or Everton and being the top dog at CFC.

Classes apart? How did you deduce that?

MBia is not better than Mikel...
-
It was. Ray Wilkins said that Torres was a Carlo buy.
-
Haven't seen much of this Origi kid at all but he does seem a lot more technically astute (not that hard I know but still) than Romelu. He's a much better fit for Belgium against defensive teams.
-
Suarez to Barca rumours seem to be picking up a bit...
-
Keeps on disappointing doesn't he. It's really funny how he considers himself the complete striker. He tries to act like he's this big, mature guy that deserves to be the top dog but that was very petulant and childish. He isn't anywhere near ready to be number 1 at this club, or any top club. He needs to humble himself and just accept that being number 2 is the best move for his career.

Lewandowski had great offers from everywhere but he wasn't going anywhere but Bayern. The only club he wanted to play for.
-
Which is fair enough, I can understand that. And of course, PSG definitely overpaid though, by quite some fee as well. Luiz should've gone for around £30m at most but because they had solid competition from Barcelona and Bayern they made us a stupendous offer that blew the competition out of the water and we obviously couldn't resist that.
-
When will this "Roman signing" term die... The Mata and Luiz transfers clearly indicates that Jose runs the scenes here when it comes to the playing squad.
-
Still don't understand why people think we're getting rid of Ramires, Jose has on multiple occasions mentioned that he's an important player and isn't for sale.

Cahill is the "safer" option in our system yes, but if you put Cahill in a high line defensive system he'd be even more unsafe than Luiz in a low block system. Luiz can obviously defend properly as well, you're contradicting yourself when you say he's a "brain fart" away - that points to concentration issues rather than defensive ability. Do you think PSG, Bayern and Barca were stupid enough to be willing to spend ~£30m+ on a defender that can't defend? Just because he doesn't have your preferred way of defending doesn't mean he can't. You say that because you're a GK you prefer a safer, no risk option at the back, but that's due to the type of GK you are. Myself, as a GK, I prefer and really like a CB that is very confident on the ball and is proactive in getting the ball - when I play in goals (usually in a high line system) I'm always on the lookout to come out and rush the ball i.e. Neuer/Lloris so I prefer a more proactive CB - but that's just the sort of keeper I am. As I said before, It really comes down to preference and the style of defending you prefer.

Cahill is a better defender in certain systems, Luiz is a better defender in others. It isn't a fact about who's better or not, that might be your opinion but not everyone shares that. For example myself. I'm not Brazilian but when both are on top form Luiz is the better defender IMO, so it really isn't a "Brazilian" thing either. Barca, Bayern and PSG would never buy Cahill because he would be below average in their systems. Luiz is a proactive defender, goes for interceptions and tries to win the ball back ASAP whilst Cahill is a reactive defender, backs off and waits for the right moment to tackle an attacker. If you think Luiz cost PSG £50m because of his hair then you're just wrong IMO. There's many reasons why he went for that price i.e. the fact that he suits their system like a glove, is the ideal partner for T. Silva, the fact we aren't a selling club, his versatility, big game performances etc... In a high line defensive system Luiz is just the better defender because that suits his defensive attributes better whilst in a low to medium block system Cahill shines more because it suits his defensive attributes more. Personally I think when both are on top form, Luiz is the better defender, but that's just my personal preference just like yours is Cahill. It isn't a fact.

Real love ditching world class players - Sneijder, Robben, Makalele, Özil etc...Everyone knows that I love Benzema and I would honestly love to pick him up if Real are ditching him, I personally think he needs to leave Real to truly be appreciated. Would welcome him with open arms.
-
Yeah, now and then. Used to play it a lot a few years back but haven't really been into it as often. Mata is still in the squad because he hasn't updated the game so he doesn't have the January transfer window update.
-
What constitutes as a massive signing for you then?
-
Someone needs to update their FM...

100%, probably my favourite football book ever. If you appreciate Dutch football you'll absolutely love this. Dutch brilliance that book. Probably read it about 5 times and I never/rarely reread books. Highly recommended for any football fan really, opens up your mind on football in general. Haven't read it in a few years actually, gonna give it a read again soon.

Costing too much does not equal to people not rating him...
-
Yeah, hence why I don't think it would happen. Ramires is a brilliant squad player and Vidal's way too talented to just be that. But if we did switch to like a 4-3-3 permanently a midfield three or Cesc - Vidal - Matic would clearly be the best in the world IMO.
