People are overrating certain player's performances in our title winning season under Conte by excluding crucial factors.

Why this holding midfielder role is one of the most difficult positions in football. You always have to know what to do before it happens. Why it always makes me giggle that people think putting Kante there, when he's never played that role in his life, will fix us.

Incredibly stubborn and close minded thought process then. As if a manager's word is gospel, let alone in this scenario when we've seen managers defend players since the dawn of time. Let's go with your theory. In training, Lampard must have told his players that Barkley is the first choice penalty taker. Must have been under his breath, because the bloody team captain and our regular penalty taker had zero indication of that.

Ah so when Azpilicueta tried telling Jorginho to take it and the confused looks on the players when they saw Barkley claiming it’s his, definitely looks like a team that knows Barkley is their penalty taker. Don’t be so obtuse.

I remember against Wigan on the final day in the 2010 season. We were leading 1 or 2-0, and we’ve won a penalty. Drogba wanted to take it to win the golden boot, but Lamps refused and even Terry came and said Lamps needs to take it so we can secure the title. Long are the days we had that leadership. Also a bit rich for Lampard to defend Barkley when he knew he’s in the wrong.

There is honestly no excuse for this defeat. Even with injuries we should be winning. Appalling from everyone involved.
