Reguilon has looked pretty solid at the defensive end. Theo (as I showed in a long post elsewhere to rebut another poster who falsely said he was poor) is very solid there. Alaba is obviously rock solid there., but has huge wage demands, and wants to go to RM, or Barca, or maybe PSG Digne is very solid, but again, like Chillwell, is outrageously priced. Gosens is oki defensively, but not a beast at that end. Ramy Bensebaini is the opposite, very good defensively, but not as polished offensively.(although is not as limited there as AWB is atm) Ferland Mendy is a good, strong defender, but Real will not sell him. Alphonso Davies looks to be on track to becoming the best defensive LB on the planet (and superb on the offensive end as well) but will never be sold by Bayer, unless we dumped £110-120m or so (which will never happen) Chilwell is fairly solid, but for £80m Leicester can go fuck themselves. Renan Lodi looks really strong there, but again, Atleti will never sell him now, save for damn near Chilwell money., and he is not worth that IMHO. Robertson obviously will not be sold. Leonardo Spinazzola is big (1.86m) and good at defence, but I have seen zero links to him. Stanley Nsoki is strong, and a solid defender, and has great size (1.84m) but is very, very raw and is only just turned 21, so would be a project. Vitaliy Mykolenko of Dynamo Kyiv is also young, 21, has good size (1.81m) but he is also very raw Telles is oki, but not a superb defender at all Rayan Aït Nouri is only 19yo, and is a great prospect but atm is far better offensively than defensively and is nt ready, IMHO, to jump right in as a starter that is literally it for strong, youngish LBs who are class enough at defensive play.. Alex Sandro is too old to buy for the money Juve will try to scam, but he is a great defender. Marcel Halstenberg is a big (1.88m) strong defender, but turns 29 in a month, so too old to buy for the money RB would demand. The ONLY 3 fullbacks (1 LB, 2 RB) worth £80m or more (all would go for more) on the planet are Alphonso Davies, Kimmich (who is also a WC DMF), and TAA.

try for Theo, and if it (it likely will, 95%+) fails, then pick one between Telles or Reguilon (super goal tonight, the game winner) or Alaba or even Gosens (Gosens would be ideal to buy next year to replace Alonso, as they are very similar, save for Gosens having better pace and being 4cms shorter, but still tall, 1.84m, same as Theo) the club is apparently wary of Telles (27, 28 in lmid December) and Alaba's (turned 28 the end of June) ages, plus Alaba's insane salary demands and Telle's lack of Big 5 footie (1 year at Inter on loan) Telles has 24 goals and 55 assists in the past 4 years he has 2 goals and ten assists in major international cups he is also one of the best corner kick takers on the planet 12 of his cumulative goals have come from open play or a free kick I do not rate Tagliafico at any of the above player's levels TBH,, he is actually older than Telles and closer to the same age as Alaba, (Tags turns 28 this month) plus is pretty small (1.72m) and never has been that great on defence, and also has zero Big 5 league experience. He was only played in Europe since 2018, Telles at least has 6 and a half years in Euro football., and a shedload of EL and CL experience. Digne is not going to be sold by Everton (unless we insanely tossed £60m or so their way) Rayan Aït Nouri just turned 19, so I doubt we buy him as a insta starter at all Junior Firpo was a semi bust (surprisingly so) at Barca, and Inter want him anyway (if we do not sell them Emerson) Jose Gaya is too expensive at a 100m euro RC hard pass on Alex Grimaldo Ramy Bensebaini (1.86m, pacy, rugged defensive Algerian from Gladbach) is the only other one left on my list, and I see zero links to him from us

Azpi at LB is utter capitulation, its a disaster in 8 plus out of ten games, it crushes our left-sided attack
-
Basel look a great little side, and they are missing two of their key players, their starting keeper and also their star CMF, Ramires but look really well balanced

Olympiakos got raped by VAR should be 1 1

bingo, that is who I would most say he resembles, and is far better at his age now than KK was at his he is also 5cms taller than KK NOT saying he will end up as good as KK was from 2014 to 2019 (KK had a wee bit of a let-down season this year) 2015–16, 2016-17, and 2017-18, you could make a case that KK was the best CB on the planet (cumulatively for those 3 years), his long range passing in each of those years was insane, and he was at true peak physical power as well

is he worried about an injury? You would think he would want to play for that CL trophy badly

Liverpool have shit for depth and after three more seasons their 3 Ferraris up front all have decimated resale values compared to now VVD turns 30 next summer, Salah turns 30 right after the season after this coming season ends, Mane turns 30 during the season after the coming one, Firmino turns 29 in a couple months (so he is older than Mane and Salah), Henderson is 30 now, Georginio Wijnaldum is almost 30 now, Matip turns 30 after next season ends, Milner is 35 in January, Lallana turns 33 next season. Lovren turns 32 next year. They are (unlike the ridiculous presenters yapping on) are not a young team (Stevie Nichol says they are golden, peak of powers for the next 5 season after at least!, lolol) and Klopp just announced he is leaving summer of 2024. if they stand still and do nothing this summer, and they get hit with HALF the injuries we have had to key players, they are well fucked GK they are set CB they only have 3 decent ones (one of those is superb, VVD) after that, they are fucked, and only have 2 if Gomes needs to spell TAA LB zero real backup, unless you count the 35yo in January, out of position Milner, who is a joke there at this point RB after starting CB Joe Gomes (who, again then leaves them with ZERO backup decent CB's once Lovren leaves) teen Neco Williams is the only backup DMF no backup for Fabinho unless they slide Henderson over the DMF CMF superb starters with backups Keita and Ox (unless he plays at AMF) plus the old Milner, they are well set here to a point for the next two seasons, more than likely AMF, with Lallana leaving, they have no true AMF, Ox is the closest LW only backups are huge drop of, the meh (so far) Takumi Minamino and then the out of position Origi RW again massive drop off, Xherdan Shaqiri is shit, and so they will probably rely on Harry Wilson, coming back from loan CF Origi and then nothing THAT is so not a deep team, they are fucked at LB, RB (if Gomes cannot switch over from CB), DMF (unless you count Henderson vacating his normal role, which causes other issues) AMF ,and ALL 3 up front if the starters cannot go (plus a huge drop off at keeper) the odds of them going injury-free at all those key positions (especially those with with no or shit backup) are very low if they do not reinforce they are insane I predict the same trouble that I predicted (and was deadly accurate on) that Shitty had if they do not make moves and starting next year they better have a plan for those front 3 the will start to age out, lose massive value, and Liverpool is so NOT a Manure or Real or Shitty or PSG or Barca they ride those 3 for the next 2 or 3 years (especially 3) and make no moves they will never recover, as by then those 3 (when they are 31, 32yo) will have fuckall in resale value and they will never have the cash to replace them, as they have shitty yank owners IF Klopp's contract was until 2023, I could see him doing just that, going for 3 years of glory, fuck the future as he is out, BUT he did say he was staying until 2024 (when his contract ends, and then he is deffo leaving-- his words) so maybe he does start to make moves

Sam Kerr and Chelsea Women receive FA WSL trophy https://www.myfootball.com.au/news/sam-kerr-and-chelsea-women-receive-fa-wsl-trophy Sam Kerr has added a second piece of silverware after Chelsea FC were officially presented with the FA Women’s Super League trophy. “I want to win trophies. Yeah, that’s definitely my main goal. I don’t really care which trophy it is; I just want to win one. ” That was Sam Kerr’s stated aim when the Westfield Matildas captain signed for Chelsea Women last November. Almost two months to the day since the Football Association awarded Chelsea the FA Women's Super League title, the team were finally presented with the trophy and their medals. For Chelsea it means the Blues are on track for the domestic treble after winning the FA Women’s Continental League Cup in February. The FA Women’s Cup remains the only trophy left to complete the 2019/20 season trophy cabinet. Chelsea are scheduled to meet Everton in the quarter finals next month.

Ivanovic might join Everton https://princerupertstower.com/2020/08/05/ivanovic-join-everton/ According to several media reports, Everton are on the verge of signing former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on a free transfer. Is this really likely and why would Everton want to sign the 36-year-old who has most recently been playing his trade in the Russian league with Zenit St Petersburgh. As usual with such reports, they must be taken with a pinch of salt. But according to The Sun, Ivanovic is quoted as saying joining the Blues is his likely next career move. So who knows..? On the surface this would seem to be a bizarre and strange move. However, there might be some method to this apparent madness. While solving the problems in midfield should most definitely be the club’s transfer window priority, I’ve said before that I think the Toffees do need a bit more experience in key positions, in particular in central defence and up front.

and half of them do not work out, lololol
