Palmeiras is no joke
even with those 2 young star CMF's (Patrick de Paula and Gabriel Menino) booted off the tourney team (de Paula is tossing all his toys out the pram over it) and their 19yo star winger Gabriel Veron out with Covid, they are pretty loaded
and they are so thirsty for this trophy
they won the first ever 'world' club trophy (Rio Cup 1951)
and have failed every time since, they are obsessed for decades with being world champs again
all time winningest Brasil club (most all Brasil league tiles)
106 total trophies in their history (some minor, of course)
and they have tens of thousands of fans who travelled
they are all out attack and have tonnes of pace
all they lack is a CF, but Rony is dangerous as a false 9, and even with no Veron they are loaded at winger/AMF
Danilo is a really solid 20yo DMF, he will soon be in a Big 5 league
their back 4 is pretty solid, just not truly WC, and they are missing their teen sensation CB, Renan, a 19yo (although I doubt he would start in this final)
and they have a great young manager who I profiled on here years ago (Abel Ferreira) who is the first back to back Copa Libertadores-winning non SA manger
they are going to be a handful
just our luck, as the last time there was a Brasil side this good in the past 15 years was in 2012, when Corinthians beat us, ffs, and this is arguably a better team than that, although so are we (than our 2012/13 side), IF we fucking can snap out of our offensive funk)
