  1. Mmmm... take a draw against WHU and then take another draw against Liverpool? That wouldn't be good. At least one of those games have to be won. I desperately want six points from those games. The leap up on the table would be massive.
  2. I actually think his delivery has been surprisingly strong this season. And two crosses were so good they went in. His corners still suck.
  3. Not kinda agree. You agree. Because I'm right. He is the one.
  4. Nahh. Not for 90 min anyway. They created quite a few chances. But Bayern made them look so average in their passing. The amount of times they gave the ball away was something. I thoroughly enjoyed that game. The intensity alone was brilliant.
  5. All hail Cesar. Give him the band in the Terry's absence.
  6. Arsenal - Bayern was an amazing game. Top quality entertainment.
  7. He looked like 2014 Matic but consistency is the key. I hope he keeps it up.
  8. He looks like his old self physically. I'm excited. Now it's time to perform again.
  9. 1st half for Chelsea, 2nd half for Kiev. I was disappointed by that, 2nd half performance was underwhelming for me. I'm not impressed by this Kiev side but they could've won. Fair enough, they fought hard at the end. Overall it was an improvement though. Much better than what we've seen so far this season. Chelsea actually looked like they could defend. I don't know. On one side you expect more but Chelsea has been so poor so signs of improvement are very welcome. So just keep improving. Draw isn't disastrous. Have to beat them at home.
  10. My feelings exactly. Good start, should've scored. But dropped off afterwards. This game should be won. Kiev is weak.
  11. Hmm I'm sure Porto will win both games against Maccabi, which means ten points for them. Chelsea need to get at least four points out of these two games, which would mean seven points. Beat Maccabi and hope Porto draw their game against Kiev. But I think they'll win tbh, home game and all. 10 points for Chelsea and 13 points for Porto. Final showdown at The Bridge. Who knows what kind of form Chelsea will be in at that stage. I say a draw or a win. But a convincing would be needed to top the group. Tough task. Can't afford to lose today. Not if you want to finish first.
  12. Too bad if true. I still think he could been very useful for the team after the loan. Waste of money as well. I hope this means another player will join, a good player. I really don't like the current four players for three positions situation. Kenedy and Traore are fillers, they aren't real options.
  13. We have a different understanding of the term jack of all trades then. With a jack of all trades I meant a player that is decent in a lot of areas but fails to stand out in any, and because of that is nothing more than a decent or good player. Think Oscar. I find his positioning, anticipation, vision (the amount of times I've seen him pick out a player in a great position with a pass or cross in the blink of an eye), general decision-making and versatility all to be exceptional. He also has a great engine and is a fantastic finisher as well. His overall technique isn't outstanding but tactically and mentally he's absolutely brilliant. I guess that's fair. Hasn't really been the case in first team football but that's an area he could make great strides in.
  14. Muller is a great goal-scorer and assist-provider (and a deceptively good crosser) though. His positional sense is also among the best in the game. And he's big game player as well. Never a jack of all trades imo. It will be interesting to see how RLC develops. He has an impressive physique so that's something he can work with. And I want to see how he'll refine his technique.
  15. Those runs are so hard to pull of at top level though. How often do you see that? I really miss a stand out quality in his game. Great dribbler, passer or shooter? FK or set-piece specialist? Goal-scorer or assist-provider? Exceptional pace? Huge physical presence? A jack of all trades is a dangerous prospect.
  16. You actually think that in the 12 years under Abramovich Chelsea haven't made numerous attempts to purchase world-class talent? You can't be serious. The club/Roman had/have such great ambitions. Plans to take over the world.
  17. Kenedy has done a decent job. I love the boy's commitment but he lacks the necessary talent for a title winning side imo. Taking Vitesse by storm. That's quite the exaggeration. He hasn't even been Vitesse's best player this season. I love the fact that he's playing but he has such a long way to go. I hope he stays at Vitesse until he manages to score around 25 goals in the league. More even. He doesn't stand a chance to become a backup striker for Chelsea if he doesn't, let alone a starter. But I really like him. Why do people think Varane would leave Real for Chelsea? It's Real Madrid. Real decides to sell players but players rarely leave because they want to. And it's hard to get Reus. He loves Dortmund and if he leaves, everyone wants him. Chelsea have struggled to buy world-class players. I don't think the club can compete with the very best. They succeeded with Torres and Sheva, but both players ended up as complete failures sadly.
  18. Have you seen Reus play this season? He's been terrible for his standards. Worse than Hazard imo. He was even benched against Bayern for that reason. Solanke, Kenedy? What the heck? Reus and Varane. Bless your optimistic heart.
  19. Robben was good but he wasn't great imo. Massive potential but inconsistent. Didn't score or assist much. But he was fun to watch because of his lightning pace and mazy dribbles. I don't understand how you could possibly prefer him over Hazard. His terrible fitness back then alone is enough to prefer Hazard.
  20. Comparing the succesful transfers of attacking players to the failures is enough to make you cry. We've seen an army of players come and go, Drogba and Hazard were the closest things to superstars in a Chelsea shirt. Just two players. Think about that. Selling Hazard would be disastrous. I have good faith it won't come to that though.
  21. I agree. Raheem has always been a genuine talent for me. I know I can't think of a better 20-year-old winger. His explosiveness, speed, quickness of feet, agility and balance is amazing. I've seen so many defenders failing to overpower him, kind of like with Messi. Then there's his dribbling, his ability to set up chances for his team mates and he's also a decent goal-scorer already. He definitely has what it takes to become a top player in a couple of years. It will be interesting to see how Stones, Shaw (I have to admit, I'm a fan), Barkley, Ox (ditto), Sterling, Kane (I like him as well) and even the likes of Shelvey and Wilshere develop. England's desperately lacking in world-class players right now. Smalling though I think is next in line in the fine production of top English CBs. He impressed in 14/15 and he's even better now. Now he's capable of seperating himself from his team mates, playing at a high level even when others are struggling. He's becoming a rock. And I still love Sturridge. Fantastic player. The constant injuries are such a shame.
  22. You couldn't be more correct. I've watched him play for six years now and he's never played like this. This Hazard-esque style he's currently displaying is so strange. Always receiving the ball in deep positions, no one around and then he starts dribbling and carrying the ball (so many touches and why is he dribbling?)... He's practically a midfielder. And it doesn't suit him at all. I don't understand why attacking players tend to morph in a Chelsea kit.
  23. No, he's actually been quite disappointing for the Dutch NT. He's always so timid, completely fading into the background. Even before the major decline. You often forget he's even playing. Southampton's Clasie for example has done a much better job in the NT (but even he is kind of lightweight, not nearly as good as Van Bommel). Wijnaldum's a decent player but definitely not one of the leading lights of The Netherlands. I don't think he ever will be but who knows how he might develop. If you're looking for one of the big stars of the next generation, look no further than Ajax's Bazoer. That dude is the real deal.
  24. Just saw this. Didn't get a notification. For me, no. They're at a similar level now, but Memphis is more talented. He's shown things and has put in performances Wijnaldum never has. Not as often anyway. Wijnaldum is about four years older as well so he's at a further stage of development and far more mature. Big difference between the two is the fact that Wijnaldum has always been a pro. There are question marks surrounding Depay's attitude. His head keeps getting bigger so he might hurt his own career. I was surprised he joined Newcastle. I guess the money was too good to turn down, while he probably bought into their ambitious project. A team like Swansea, Everton or Southampton would've been so much better for him. Maybe even Spurs. Or a Bundesliga side like Schalke or Gladbach. I have no idea how he managed to scored four goals in one game though.
