Carvalho is a real big game performer. He reaches a higher level everytime we face a world-class opponent. Weird he's not in the starting eleven. I still prefer him over Alex or Ivanovic as Terry's partner. Just love how he relies purely on the art of defending, a real classic defender. Those types are (quickly) fading away. But he has lost the great consistency he once had.

Obviously Malouda can't be benched in current fom (well the form before the WC), but he could be moved to midfield. He impressed me when he played there a couple of times last season. But what i really meant with my comment, is that Yuri should (actually has to) get a chance to play left wing. Buying a left winger for 18 mil pounds but never playing him there makes no sense at all. Not one game has he played there. Even when Malouda had to play in midfield because of injuries, Anelka got moved to the left with Kalou playing at the right. I was stunned.

This guy should be played in his natural role for once (left wing). Only then will the real Yuri stand up.

+1 We're playing horrible football. Too many defensive mistakes and hardly doing anything in attack.

Power midfields (Essien-Mikel-Lampard or Essien-Lampard-Ramires) won't work ! We need a playmaker and someone for the right attacker position. Carlo clearly won't use Kakuta there.
