  1. Still hoping for a desperately needed creative midfielder and a new goalkeeper.
  2. It's not just Ancelotti's system. Anelka actually prefers to drop deep and get involved in build up play, he said so himself. He doesn't prefer the striker role anymore.
  3. Very possible. Or Zhirkov and Ramires in midfield (Essien rested) and Kalou and Sturridge from the sides.
  4. Anelka has changed completely as a player. While he still shows flashes of his great off the ball runs, like you mentioned with his goal vs Zilina, he's now the type of player that prefers to drop deep, rather than go deep. He also had games in the striker role where he drove me crazy since he was everywhere except in the main striker role. But you are right about him being the right player to become that type of striker. Josh providing him the deadly through balls. But he'll really need to improve his finishing skills.
  5. What does that mean? He's a striker and i was making a point about him being played in the striker role. How does that not make him into the team?
  6. Correction: the best season in his career. It's a weird case but maybe it's his age catching up with him. I'm not saying he's not gonna get any better but his consistency could be dropping.
  7. It's true that our forwards switch positions a lot but still, not one match. He needs to improve as an striker first since he's still a very raw talent.
  8. Ancelotti is really making me worried. Not one game this season has Danny played in the striker role.. I'm really getting Kalou vibes.
  9. Can't believe i forgot about Kakuta and yeah that midfield could work. But we know our coach and the chance of that happening is -1 .
  10. The thing is, i feel Mikel could play a whole season without missing a single game. And with Lampard and Benayoun injured and Essien and Malouda deserving a rest, we don't have any more options for the DM role
  11. Cech Bosingwa Alex Terry Cole/PVA Mikel Ramires Zhirkov Kalou Drogba Anelka I think Essien, Malouda and Ivanovic deserve a rest and maybe Cole too (Liverpool game). Still a strong enough side to beath Spartak at home and qualify for the second round.
  12. Agree with you about Yuri being underrated. Personally i'm a huge fan, i think he's a fantastic player and have been saying since his arrival. Ancelotti should expiriment putting Malouda on the right and Yuri from the left wing once or twice. I think it could work.
  13. When you at it like that, i agree with you about two specialists per position. But i'd rather have a young right-back (like Van der Wiel) then since Bosingwa and Srna are about the same age. That means we would be looking for two new RB's in the future. Unless we have some exciting young RB coming through the youth ranks but i haven't heard anything. And btw, what happens to Paulo? But we we should be looking at getting young creative midfielders and a young and exciting striker first.
  14. Ronaldo's been in great form,12 goals already. He has also grown a lot as a player and person. I'm really enjoying watching him. Barcelona was too much yesterday. No team would be able to beat them yesterday.
  15. Palermo - Lazio is on. Good start so far.
  16. 1. Petr Cech 2. Yuri Zhirkov 3. John Mikel Obi
  17. Would agree with you before the 09/10 season but i think he has surpassed Reina after that season. And he's even better than last season now.
  18. Milan was the better team and deserved to win. But the ball just wouldn't go in, until it was too late. So sad.
  19. Unfortunately Dinho won't be playing today.
  20. You're hoping for a Van der Sar scenario. Would be wonderful :chelsea2:
  21. Don't forget Alex and Mikel. Ivanovic wa solid as well. Was attacking a lot more than he did recently at RB and defended well.
