who doesn't understand the problem with Torres? I have already noted the fact he hasn't scored enough goals! what i dont get is when people say Torres doesn't contribute! or Torres has played bad ever since he has signed for us! and even someone said that Torres doesn't work hard!!! When i hear stuff like that it makes me wonder if people actually watch him play! or do they just hate the guy? stop acting as if im saying not scoring enough goals is ok! when did i say that? Torres should have scored more goals for us by now, but me when i watch football i dont just see if after the game a certain player has scored or not to judge if they played well! i watch what they actually do in the game, and what i have seen from Torres last season has been more than enough to convince me that he will be a success at Chelsea! His movement at running in behind defenders is top class and one of the best i have seen in Europe! unfortunately last season we didn't have the players to open up defenses only Mata was really capable of that last. Next season we will have more creativity and for Torres to be at his best he needs ball played through to him early, basically we need to play to his strengths more. He needs to work on his movement when he gets in the box though as he likes to wait at the edge of the area for the ball to be cut back to him instead of making a run into the 6 yard box. His workrate is one of the best in the team! and probably puts most other strikers to shame, he usually presses the ball and no one else really backs him up, if we can start pressing as a team with the likes of Torres, Hazard, Ramires, Mata ect it would cause teams alot of problems and Torres will be key to us being a team that presses from the front, and Torres has a great opportunity to get that huge confidence boost nice and early in the season as he will most likely start in both cup finals in August against City and Atletico, and a goal or two and a good performance in both games is a great way for him to kickstart his season. The tools are all pretty much there now for Torres to be a success we have more pace, more creativity, more players who can run with the ball all in behind Torres now with more players still to come, from what i can see everything is setting up nicely for Torres to shut alot of people up, who base their argument on stats and not actually watching him play. But all in all what i have seen from Torres tells me that he is more than capable of being a big success at Chelsea. So as i said before this same old Torres argument is getting so boring now so you might as well just give up! because Torres will be leading the line for us next season and the thought of Mata and Hazard roaming around in behind Torres and playing balls through to him, is a very very exciting prospect for me!

OMG!!! when are people going to realize!!! Torres wasn't the one who declared he was worth 50million you know!!! SMH!!! your obviously another person who has had unrealistic expectations of Torres! its getting boring now!

Well he has now scored 9 goals in his last 12 starts for club and country! That's pretty consistent to me.

I agree that style of football was good to watch in 2009! now i am just bored of it now! I watch Barca play every week! (only because i usually have a bet on Messi to score a hattick most weeks) so thats really the only entertaining thing for me when i watch Barca play is just to cheer on Messi! but apart from that they are so dull and boring to watch! same goes with Spain! It must be so frustrating for Torres at times playing in that team!

he doesn't need to convince you! he has already convinced the people that matter! Torres will be leading the line for us next season!

Spain just like to pass the ball around and side to side for 5 minutes before trying to play it through to Torres! if they just played balls in to Torres straight away when he make his runs then Torres would get plenty more very good chances to score! he keeps making good runs but the Spanish midfield just love to take their time!

he wasn't anything special at the start of the season! Where was he when his team lost 3-0 to Man U? where was he when his team lost 5-1 to City? where was he for his country against England in the first half of the season? no where as usual! that game against Inter has made him become one of the most overrated players on the planet! any decent RB can easily defend against him, he is only effective, when he is given space, but everyone knows how he plays now that is why you will never see him put in a performance like he did at the San Siro again!

what is all this talk of Bale about? he is so overrated!!!!!! please someone tell me more than one amazing performance from Bale since the Inter game? and if anyone thinks Bale is going to be world class or should come to Chelsea they need their head tested!!!

Forget Bale! this is the Modric thread! I think we just have to sign the little Croat up! he will be the final piece of the jigsaw that would allow us to play teams off the park on a regular basis! People think if we have Mata, Marin, Hazard and Modric in the same team we will be to lightweight! but when have you ever seen players like Xavi, Iniesta and Silva get bullied in games? The game is changing now even in the PL, it will continue to get less physical and more technical. So i wouldn't worry about us being to lightweight! Teams would just be to worried about trying to stop us from playing them off the park, and trying to bully our smaller players wont work!

He would be a good squad player certainly an upgrade on Kalou.

I am sorry to say this but! Your whole post is pointless and is completely irrelevant to what I said. Where did say we should put hope in the team to score rather than the striker??? I said we have many game chargers in the team! And don't need to rely solely on Torres to be a game changer! We are not a one man team! Torres has already proved he can change games! So has other players in the team! So no we should not rely on the midfielders to score and not the striker we should rely on the whole team to score and create goals! its not about having a striker who can do that its about having players in the team who can do that, and that is what we already have in players like Mata and Ramires plus new players coming in like Hazard. Our team doesn't revolve around the striker! we have quality all over the pitch.

First of all Torres at his best would never have scored 35 goals for us! he is a 20 goal a season striker at best, he had one amazing season where he got 30+ goals! maybe if he was here in our freak season in 09/10 where we scored ridiculous amount of goals then maybe he would have got a little closer to that figure. Torres scored 11 goals last season and your saying if he never missed so many sitters then he would have 20-25 goals! last season! haha! thats how i know you clearly dont watch Torres play and your opinion is mostly made up of the rubbish your hear about him from haters! off the top of my head chances that Torres should have scored was, He should have got another goal against Man United A he missed a sitter against Blackburn A, he missed a quite easy chance against Norwich A, and when he rounded the keeper against Napoli it wasn't the easiest of angles to score from but i am trying to help you out here, and against United at home where he should have shot with his right foot instead of trying to cut the ball on to his weaker left foot. So thats 5 chances i can think of there where Torres should/could have scored a couple in there are harsh though to class them as sitters but as i said im trying to help you out here, so those 5 goals would have bought his tally up to 16 goals so where are the other 4-9 sitters that Torres missed? see thats the thing you have to nitpick to find sitters that Torres missed! again further proof that you listen to the media rather than actually watch Torres, because according to the media, Torres misses a sitter every week! according to the media every difficult chance to score is classed as a sitter when Torres is involved! according to the media when Torres loses the ball its because he lacks confidence and isn't in form! according to the media every chance and even half chance Torres spurns would have been put in the back of the net if he was in a Liverpool shirt! when that is so so untrue!!! We are a team who have match winners all over the pitch! and many players who are capable of reaching double figures! we dont need a 30+ goal a season striker! if Torres hits 15+ next season which he is more than capable of doing (imo he will get 20+) then we will have players like Lampard, Mata, Hazard, Ramires, Sturridge, Marin, Lukaku + whoever else comes in, all who are capable of scoring their fair share of goals plus the like of Ivanovic, Terry, Luiz and Chaill who also chip in with goals! where do i start! there have been so many games this season where Torres has been brilliant or had moments of brilliance in a game. Ok here we go off the top of my head, Stoke A, Man United A (before the miss), Leverkusen H, Genk H, Genk A, Swansea H (before the red card), Leicester H, Benfica A, QPR H. Whether you want to believe it or not Torres has shown he has alot of quality in alot of games this season and he will continue to show that next season as well.

how very mature of you, what because i have a picture of Torres as my avatar do you think i'm one of those Torres worshipers? because if you do your way off! i have criticized Torres alot this season but im not delusional like certain people who think because Torres hasn't scored 30+ goals that means he is rubbish! I actually watch Torres play, yes he has been poor at times like every other player in the squad but he has also been brilliant at times, and the good things he has done has outweighed the bad, but of course the Torres haters will never be able to accept that, because they are the people who dont have their own opinion, they listen to rubbish in the media who every week go way way over the top regarding Torres, and when certain people hear the media slating Torres they automatically agree with them and follow suit! its boring now! Yes Torres hasn't been amazing this season, but in the most part he has done well.

WOW!!! so much hate on here towards Torres!!! I think i will stick to the CFCnet forum, at least on there people appreciate Torres and can see he actually does contribute alot to the team and that he is still a quality player. People on here seem to think Torres should be banging in 30-40 goals a season or something! when Torres has never been a 30-40 goal a season striker even at his best he was just about a 20+ goal a season striker, the price tag has blinded so many people and has made peoples exceptions of Torres very unrealistic! even Torres in the best form of his career would have done really well to have scored 20+ goals in that Chelsea team last season. Next season he will play with Mata, Hazard and maybe Hulk, Torres will shut alot of delusional people up next season, that is for sure.
