That would be bad news . We have a decent replacement ofcourse with Ivanovic, but the specific aspect of his play that i'm always worrying about is his lack of pace in comparison with Bosingwa. He has excellent strength though, so that'll compensate a lot.

Scolari was a drama with his English. It's in a certain way pleasing to see that our current manager does a better job with it! Ancelotti stated earlier this season that he couldn't say what he wanted if he was angry , so he would start swearing in Italian if that was the case! However, every press-conference he speaks more fluently. As you say, his English classes at school together with Ray Wilkins' Italian could have had a big influence on his English and made him more capable of talking in English. But, i was wondering, didn't he took English classes during the summer and also while still at Milan?

Just heard him on the pre-match interview and his English has really improved during the course of season. At first i thought we signed someone who figured in a gothfather movie if i listened to his English. But there's been a significant improvement! Do you guys think it affects the results? (due to better communication etc..)

Well to be honest, after a red card and with Hilario in goal, i thought it was more likely to happen that we'd lose the game...but ofcourse i didn't saw it coming !

In theory you can be put of a competition every month . I think the biggest question may be where to lay your priority for this season. Of course it's a difficult choise between the EPL and the CL, because i would love to win both. But looking at the fact that (probably) Man ©Unt would get another title added to their cabinet if we don't win the league . The CL is something we'll win for certain, i'm convinced of that, the only question is when. And i really do not grant them another PL-title , so for me i think i would go for the Pl. And with that said, if you look at our fixtures in the PL, i think it's going to be difficult after November and December (when we play 14 games in two months time; WTF?!?!). I think we can all agree that the toughest part of the season is yet to come however!

Allright, thanks ! I had something in mind from the start of January untill two weeks into february ! Even better in that case! We only will miss some vital players for a period of max 1 month. It keeps being a bitter thing though. What i'm worrying about at the moment are the injuries that will follow :/... Let's be honest with eachother; even though Chelsea will miss some important players during this period, we'll only play smaller teams. Two of those we already beat pretty convincingly(against Hull we snapped a late winner, but nevertheless we were absolutely the dominant side!). The two that remain are together with Hull, relegation-candidates. So, as a Chelsea-fan, i may, and do, expect our team to win from this clubs despite missing some of our top-class players. Besides, this period will give some youngsters the chance to show what they've got, wich is always a positive thing imo!

Yes, i can agreee with you on what you're saying about carlo. The youngsters are getting more of a chance nowadays then during the Mourinho/Grant/Scolari/Hiddink era's. Let's hope we keep scoring a lot of goals like we did in our last few games so they can get even more time on the pitch (that i want the Chelsea to score a lot goals is standing on its own btw ).

Had a really solid performance against blackburn last week. And then you've got to realise he's only 17 years old .

In wich period exactly does the ACON takes place? Anyway, in January we haven't got much difficult games (Hull, Sunderland, Birmingham, Burnley). But february is a different story. In the worst case, we could miss some of our important players in the matches against Arsenal and Everton. So the only problem we need to overcome (in the worst case) is de first period of February. I think that the upcoming month is going to cause us more trouble tbh .
