  1. Not really. They were lucky back then to qualify against poor Mourinho's Real and have the final at home. But since then they have made good progress whereas we at the European level are going backwards. The Europa against the gooners does n't count of course. We played against one opponent to win that. One half of an opponent was Eintracht another half was Arsenal, total one.
  2. Are Bayern such a rich club ? We beat them in 2012, now it looks as if we are two divisions below them.
  3. We were giving away balls as if our opponent is a second division side, when it was 0-0. In the 2nd minute Caballero had to save from one of those (Jorginho sold the ball).
  4. we cannot score such easy goals against anyone
  5. Ah, I see. I have n't tried btts's before. But in a Bernabeu match give the away team as favourite ? Does recent form explain that or what ?
  6. What's btts ? I 'm asking how come they are on M. City in this match ?
  7. What do you make of this ? Real Madrid v. Man City 2.75 - 3.75 - 2.40.
  8. Jose interviewd by my friend Drogbazoukas: https://www.facebook.com/Drogbazoukas/videos/2766156746804055/
  9. Willian had a scoring chance and it was outside the area. Unlikely to have dived.
  10. There is no use hiding. The absence of Eden looms heavy. Bats should have scored twice in the first half but chances are there to be missed and it was n't like that with Eden around, even with the poor strikers after Diego.
  11. Ivica Surjak the great Croatian midfielder. Tipped by tabloids for AEK Athens in January 1983. Did n't happen. The tabloid's excuse was "drama at the border as Surjak forgets passport".
  12. The first two goals were similar flukes - defensive mistakes. Effectively we managed only one -Azpi- and gave it back almost immediately. No creativity - chinese word. I don't trust Kepa anymore. He is below Courtois and certainly belw Begovitch.
  13. What's happening ? Attack ideas zilch. Jorginho-Mount were lobbing the ball straight to the keeper. With 80% possession one or two half chances were inevitable but this was no Chelsea football !
  14. Yew Wilkins was n't. But during Mexico Ossie had a broken leg. Did n't he ?
  15. Ossie was great. He missed the 1970 world cup because of leg injury, then in 1974 Sir Alf was not counting on him. In the cup winners cup team the great stars were Ossie, Cooke, Hudson, Wilkins and Hollins. Could have swept everything at home / Europe but did n't do so because of great economic problems.
  16. I 'm sure it was 1-0 the replay to Arsenal.
  17. 2-2 for the FA cup. I watched that one from Matthew Harding. Arsenal equalized with a fluke scored by Charlie George. In the replay I was shut out at Highbury - Queued for half an hour then shut out. We lost 1-0. Turned back to leave the ground then found myself in the middle of a mounted police charge - against touts !
  18. Lost 4-0 to Bulgaria, 4-0 to Argentina, 2-0 to Nigeria. There were some expectations because in the preliminaries we finished ahead of Russia. It was reported he returned weeks later, with a false beard. Died in 2012 but his name has become associated with dismal football performances. 2004 was different. Under the leadership of German Otto Rehhagel and with very good players. A measure of how good Greece was in 2004 is I think that two of the best ever Greek players, Nikolaidis and Tsiartas, who were instrumental in the preliminaries stopped playing just before Portugal - because they were getting old. They were fielded as reserves in Portugal. But the rest were up to the task. Unfortunately from August 2004 (!) and onwards it's decline again. Under Ranieri we lost to Hebrides-Orkneys what was that team ?
  19. 1994 USA world cup, Greece's aggregate score 0-10.
  20. We are not doing great but I watched Arsenal v; United - panagouliasis is the Greek term for it. Also L'pool versus Sheff. United did n't impress me.
  21. Nice win away. But we did n't play well today either. It was Arsenal who were not very brilliant. They conceded a lot of ground and it looked like a question of time before we scored goals. Luck played a role, as usual. A fluke 2-0 might have sealed it but it did n't happen. We lack in creativity and we need some strong additions
  22. Had a b***dy incident last week. 4 days in hospital and it was one of those without wifi connections. Fortunately there was a convict in the same ward and two cops watching him, so one cop used his iphone to inform me about the 2-0 against Spurs. Today it was "haivan asker" time again.
  23. Did n't see the match - only the fluke goal in a small vid. Some things must change in the month of Jan me thinks. We cannot possibly fail to stay in the top four.
