Nadelsmann and Enrique are out is the latest gossip. Mauricio Pochettino maybe but I insist Unai Emery should be the target.
-
Watched Fulham against Leeds. I wish we had William now - probably would have saved Potter's skin.

You know you are a down and outer when you can't even laugh with Mc Guire jokes.
-
I know Chelsea is different ... But the system in Madrid was wrong and Real are not a team you can really keep at bay by parking the bus.
-
Not quite dissimilar teams, Real certainly not. Dissimilar is Real of 1971.

Everything had to work to perfection yesterday, goals + clean sheet. We beat them 2-0 two years ago but it would n't matter if it was 2-1. This time a miracle was needed and it seldom happens. But the problem is always the same: No productivity. We seem to have only one move: James from the right wing and very little else.

I 'm not sure about Leao, maybe. But players like Mudryk from leagues way below the premiership standard are always suspect. He had a goodish chance in the last minutes to score the goal of honour and he skied it.
-
Obviously Lamps has nothing to offer. But I cannot blame him for today - I blame him for the Madrid system. As for goals he can't bring them, nobody can with this lot.
-
Chalobah ended this match. You would n't get more free space than Rodrygo did if you bought Stamforf bridge.
-
This happens when you are trying to overturn a 2-0 defeat. But we played well and -as usual- we could n't convert. The way we played in Madrid was bad. We gave them 3/4 of the field without resistance and we did n't escape in the end. We should have pressed them like today - they are good at passing but not superhuman. After all TT put the press on them last year and the year before and he managed to extinguish them.
-
After they scored they did.
-
I can understand not scoring a goal - typical Chelsea - fair enough. But what was the problem of playing like that in Madrid ??

FROM BET365 FOOTBALL SHORTS: Took Aston Villa when they had 12 points from 13 matches after the 4-0 defeat to Newcastlw. Five months later has the highest percentage of wins than any other manager in the clubs history, accumilating 38 points in 18 matches, while he just beat Newcastle by 3-0. In 2023 Aston Villa have collected the most points and would be first in the table. Changed Villa from relegation strugglers to a team fighting for a position leading to Europe. 𝐔𝐧𝐚𝐢 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐲

Everybody was crazy about Potter back in September. We were n't but because we disagreed with the sacking of TT, not because we knew Potter was d*gshit.
-
Is it fair to accuse Boehly ? How much did Abramovitch spent from 2015 to 2021, average per year ? I don't believe Boehly personally judged the players he bought. We would n't expect him to do that, even if he was a 300 year old Englishman.
-
From what we see now there was no point in sacking Potter - given that we did not hire a permanent manager. My principal worry about Potter was lest he scraped home in the champions league with easy draws -Dortmund then maybe Milan or Inter- and then claim the position for next year. So I wanted him out after the 4-0 to City and the defeat to Fulham. But unfortunately Lampard is non existent. He can't even motivate anybody.

It's shocking. I 'm trying to dig into the past to see how similar situations were handled by various clubs. Well, it's true everybody with a name in business gets over it sooner or later - or almost everybody. But what they did was one of these two things: a) Huge injection of cash b) Send everybody home and start from point zero with youngsters.
-
Can't remember something similar. In the failed seasons of Mourinho-Conte we somewhat pull our legs towards the end. It looks that entire first team + bench all have to go, if that is possible.
-
I did n't expect us to be totally dominated as well.
-
Snooker players call this a fava bean.
-
They 're finding many shooting positions from the edge of the box. We can't do that against anybody. Should have been 3-0 to Brighton so far.

What is Real doing better ? First my comparison standard for Chelsea is the team of the previous two years and not today's team. What are they doing better then ? First they have Vinicious who is a phenomenal winger. Then Benzema who is n't a phenomenal centre forward but he is doing the job more than adequately. But the secret is in the midintervals. There the ball and the players become invisible ! If you do that then even a substitute c.f. like Remy, Demba Ba, Bats will find spaces and score. Compare to the (better) Chelsea: Laborious buildup, player with the ball has to try hard to keep possession, selects a simple pass to somebody who can't do much with it (most of the time that is). City in that department are like Real and maybe better. Barcelona who strangely are ten points ahead of Real in La Liga Santander are supposed to have invented the fast passing game (under Pep). They too are improving. Nothing like before, but they are improving. As for Chelsea we struggle hopelessly. Upfront we don't have any international stars anymore, but it's the overall movement not good I am inclined to think now after looking carefully at yesterday's match.

Everybody does well in the easy European matches of the autumn, including Lampard and Potter. The problems start after that. For a series of years we sign players who are at best mediocre and usually worthless. It's not because of lack of money and it's a mystery. Only 10% of the problem is due to TT of his last weeks with the club, Potter and Lampard it transpires. And I 'm not moaning because we lost to Real, a derby match. I 'm moaning because of Southampton and Aston Villa.
-
I wonder. I gave some specifications for striker qualities from what little technical knowledge I have in general chat. But so many failed signings over the years ?
-
We have n't got all the answers. If I knew about Aube-Sterling-other flops beforehand I would go to the British embassy, wring the military attache by the throat and get him to bring Boehly to me at once. I 'm only observing what is happening and compare with other teams.
