  1. Will he prove another Secvhenko, or another Hazard in Real ? Imponderables. I hope we sign him and he proves a new Diego. About Werner I remain perplexed. He does n't look like a panic man or in want of physical condition.
  2. You cannot count Werner 1-0, Pulisic 2-0. You can count Germany 2 with Werner not missing - N. Macedonia 1, final score.
  3. After the 1-0 our best chances were with Pulisic who failed to make proper passes.
  4. Technically the Werner chance does n't count as we scored the next minute. After the 1-0 some more came his way that Diego might have put in, but they were not so easy ones.| If someone can win it for them now it's Courtois.
  5. Unlucky result. The downpour saved Real.
  6. I 've seen the likes of Werner many times. One veteran fast winger who is a member of the "Werner club" is a facebook friend of mine as well. It looks strange though that he was n't of that fame back in RBL. For those types there is no cure.
  7. He was n't to blame for the defeat ! We played with third substitute goalkeeper and Atletico were strong. I watch on daily basis from 2013-14 season which was his last and he was n't the utter predicament you say. Not our strongest asset but no utter predicament. Before 2013-14 I 'm not sure.
  8. I was not watching football everyday 6-7 years ago. But from Torres I remember the goal against Barcelona of course and in his last season under Mourinho some very important goals, against WBA, City (the mijudged backward header), the opener against Atletico. So was he that useless ??
  9. Torres was great. We expected him to be the new Pele which he was n't but he was great. Morata then back in Atletico and then in Juve is a different Morata !
  10. I told you, against Brighton was a deliberate undeperformance - the reasons mysterious. Werner's goal was great. It was a tap in in the end but he was involved in the move from the start. Then he went on to lose an easy one in the second half and also Abraham lost the impossible to lose. This team is crying for a Diego, that's for sure.
  11. Great, we secured CL for next season.
  12. This one is more difficult than Real at Bernabeu. Also it is the match of the season. If we do not qualify against Real it is not the disaster it will be if we lose to the hammers. Unless I 'm mistaken and suddenly West Ham have kicked the bucket, it is a very difficult match.
  13. Don't forget the Zouma giveaways. Should have been 0-1.
  14. This could have been by design. I can't think of any other explanation, comparing with the match against WBA as well and even with the dismal 0-0 against Wolves under Lampard. Tuchel told them to play slow motion. If they escaped with the three points so be it, if not let it drop.
  15. MY WORD. That was worse than Albion. Against Albion it was the circumstances that were against us. This was worse.
  16. If we keep playing like that why do we need UEFA to disqualify us ?
  17. I never understood the fuss. The truth is there is a simple solution: - Reduce the number of teams in the premier form 20 to 16 (also in Spanish liga, Portuguese liga, etc). - Make the cl into a mini league at the stage of 16 - much like 1982 world cup. This means Perez concerns are met and also the domestic leagues have no problem.
  18. They can do this: Divide the present champions league (45 countries) in two. The riff-raff can play a champions league II. Then the big clubs will play more. E.g. groups of 5 teams and mini-league for the stage of 16.
  19. Yeah, but to whom does football belong ? Rules ? Regulations ? Here in Europe it does n't belong to the government either - except if you mean the era of Greek general Aslanidis (blessed his soul).
  20. There is an argument for more European football, I feel. It can be done, though I don't know how popular it might be. I described a such scheme a few posts above. However the Mac Guire-Spuds scheme as I call it is nothing like that. It's like the old movies with Norman Wisdom, with the rich kid taking the ball home. It's nonsense.
  21. Mc Guire-Spuds and the gooners love this scheme. They normally have no hope in the champions league - even when they do qualify. It does n't look good. Even if we go along the road of pan-europeanizing the competitions, how can we possibly have 4 English teams every year, or 4 Spanish teams ?
  22. This is like British electoral system. FPTP versus the rest of the world. I just think it can be debated, without the need for revolutions-disqualifications-sackings of Jose Mourinho.
  23. Maybe it's a good idea, the European super league. But to make it happen a total overhaul of the regional football systems is needed. Thus 12 teams in the premier, playing from August to December and similarly for the other countries. The champions qualify for the superleague and the superleague will be 12 teams again, from January to June. But as there are many countries in Europe, 45 infact, there will have to be four superleague divisions, say A-B-C and D. If the champions of Greece are in superleague division B, they have to win the division B to qualify for the A. But if they do that it means Greece qualifies for the division A, not the team. If Olympiakos win the superleague division B but in Greece Panathinaikos win the domestic championship, then Panathinaikos is the one who takes advantage. It's kind of complicated, but what the "12" have in mind is with the present system there are many matches of low interest and they don't like this.
