  1. Unless Moses was half dead, I don't understand why Cahill is playing. People are shitting on Willian but how bad has Cahill been? He looks like a blumbering fool out there. He has no skill set whatsoever to deal with a high press.
  2. Shaktar gave City a much better game than we've given them so far. I don't want to hear that we have mediocre players. Rudiger, Christiensen, Fabregas, these guys are supposed to be good on the ball but we can't pass out of our own half. That's Conte's fault and the board's by extension as well.
  3. It's the mentality which is a big factor. Fabregas for example had several chances to play quick balls forward, particularly in the first 30 mins of the half. He refused. We have players turning down options to make ambitious passes. Instead happy to keep it safe and pass side to side.
  4. He had a problem with his hamstring. As for Conte's sub, well that's up to him. We aren't even playing in a way to accommodate a strikerless formation.
  5. The problem is the whole approach is very very negative. Not necessarily the personnel but the mentality of some of our players. I feel sorry for Hazard out there.
  6. Very surprised Batshuayi didn't come on for Morata. Essentially a wasted sub. Very hard to give any advice here. I wanted Cahill out for Moses and Azpi back in the back 3. That will improve our passing out from the back a bit and give us some attacking impetus on the right wing back position. Now the last sub has to be Batshuayi coming on for someone.
  7. We need maybe to bring in Moses for Cahill at halftime. Put Azpi back as a right CB.
  8. These are going to come to monopolize 90% of possession. It's going to be a frustrating match to watch but we have to be ruthless when we have the ball. They still have a weak under-belly. Fernandinho is their only true physical presence in midfield and I don't see how that can cope with the the threat of Hazard. If he plays as the 10 again, he's going to rip through their midfield with ease. They don't have a single CB that can contain Morata. And then there's Pedro and Willian presumably off the bench. I can also envisage a scenario where Bakayoko bullies De Bruyne out of the game. If you give De Bruyne time to pick out his passes, he'll destroy you but he can be anonymous when players get physical with him and he'll be scared to death of going up against a man-mountain like Baka. I've watched him play many many times. That's his biggest weakness. Aguero is the one who really scares me, glad he isn't playing. Gabriel Jesus is one of the best young strikers in the world but he's still far from the level of Aguero. Silva also scares me. He sort of gave Kante the run around in this fixture last season but now Kante has a partner in crime to relieve him of some of that pressure. We all saw how amazing Kante played in Madrid. I hope Moses can do a job on Sane. He's still raw and prone to severe inconsistency but he's a very dangerous and talented player. Kante will have to be dilligent in offering help defense to Moses to null Sane's threat.
  9. For context this was in response to this. Conte is the manager and he's just trying to motivate Hazard to keep on improving: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/09/28/chelsea-manager-antonio-conte-hailseden-hazard-alvaro-morata/ Alvaro Morata: Eden Hazard is in the top three players in the world
  10. It's also the first time we tried to play football against a good and strong team in the CL. Yawnited fans are in for a shocker with Mourinho
  11. Difficult to say. Both of these options do have merits.
  12. Same line up as Atletico but Luiz for Rudiger and let's hope the boyzzz can summon their powers for one last huge game before the International break!
  13. He's going to surpass very soon Neymar if he hasn't already. Hilarious considering that's why the Brazilian fled Barcelona; to escape Messi's shadow.
  14. Like Ramires in the past, he was used occassionally as a right winger to try and slow down Filipe Luis who is generally a major outlet at left back for them. I rarely saw Luis in this game. Kante is such a dynamic player. Of course he's twice the player Ramires is.
  15. Was boss in midfield today. He's a true midfield general.
  16. Simeone on TV: "The opponent was the better team, they were the more comfortable team in all moments, and deserved to win."
  17. Don't forget this was his first start in a competitive game (Nottingham Forrest was a training session). To put in that performance away to a beastly team lik Atletico were even Messi and Cristiano have struggled to perform in the past is mindboggling. The talent this guy has still amazes me even after 5 years at the football club. He was basically unplayable all game
  18. Leading headline in Marca tonight : "The Metropolitan is the Garden of Eden"
  19. I don't think we crossed our half once in that game. Excluding one Willian run.
  20. This is why possession football is so important. See how good we look when we keep the ball. Of course Atletico is different from other top teams in Europe, they are not possession based but I want to see us continue in this way against other top teams. I really love this 3-5-2 away from home vs the top teams. Perfect blend of everything.
