  1. That's always been the case, really. There's no doubt that the commentators tend to influence the way many people think about a football match. That's why I immediately put it on mute once they start their anti-Chelsea bullshit.
  2. They did lose 7-1 to Germany and its currently the crappiest Brazilian NT in my living memory.
  3. because he was the best out of a pathetic bunch, that's why. Personally, I'm not a fan of MOTM when the team plays so poorly.
  4. I was merely making an analogy, a contrast between a specific kind of player, not saying either of those players were world class.
  5. I'm eagerly awaiting Barbara's latest spin on proceedings.
  6. I've never once called for Jose to be "out", and have never spewed "propaganda". Using a word like propaganda to classify a person's opinion on a manager is beyond stupid. That's why I find it hard to have a civilized conversation with you, as you take everything to heart and have a passive aggressive tone in your posts. Anyway, it's not me or any fan Jose has to worry about, it's Abramovich. The style of football and recently, the poor tactical decision in big games is going to cost him his job eventually, regardless of if he wins the double or not. Ancelotti won the double and got sacked the next season.
  7. Guardiola was one. Joachim Loew was the second. I can't remember who the third was. But it was public knowledge we wanted Pep to replace Benitez and he rejected us.
  8. What if he just doesn't know HOW to learn from this? You make it sound like this is just a one off. What exactly can he change in his tactical approach that will benefit us going forward? The players he has at his disposal are not suitable to the style of football (and the only style of football) Mourinho has shown in his career, and that means the team is not as good as it can be. At this level, you get exposed! To borrow a quote from Zlatan, we have Ferrari's (Hazard, Fabregas, Oscar, Willian, Cuadrado) but he is driving them like Fiat's (Ramires, Essien, Duff, Wise). Take a guy like Fabregas. How do you expect a guy like Fabregas to play well vs good teams when the manager uses the exact same tactics that minimizes his strengths? It's laughable to see a Cesc Fabregas form a 4 man shield to protect the defense from minute 1-90 like against Man City for example. I almost feel sorry for him. He's probably had to defend here more in 8 months than he's done in his entire career!
  9. There's a reason why Mourinho wasn't his 1st, 2nd or even 3rd choice. Guardiola was his man, but he rejected us. It's not only about the style now, the tactics are also pretty sub par these days.
  10. I know, right? Fucking ridiculous.
  11. Ainsley, I like you, but I have to disagree partly with that. Hazard is at his best when he has Filipe Luis next to him, not when he has Azpilicueta next to him. The way people make it seem (not you, Ainsley) as if Azpilicueta is the second coming of Maldini and Filipe Luis is Danny Rose is funny. As if Luis is this child who needs to be taught defense, when infact he was heralded as the best left back in the world when we signed him .
  12. It's not a shame, it's a fucking travesty. And it calls into question the competence of our manager.
  13. Don't even get me started on this one, Chels. Yet another laughable tactical decision from Mourinho. I wonder what he had to fear on that left side from a PSG side without the super fast Lucas Moura and Marquinhos as right back. Everybody knows Hazard is almost unstoppable when he has a fullback who makes overlapping runs to play off of. Everybody knows how good Luis is going forward and how PSG were going to try and double mark Hazard. Everybody knows Azpilicueta is right footed, so he has to check back to his stronger foot to either get a cross in or sometimes even make a forward pass. The split extra second he does that slows our tempo down. Everybody knows these things, including Mourinho, but because he's such a laughably defensively minded manager, he did nothing. I almost burst out laughing when I saw Azpilicueta trying to make overlapping runs when we needed a goal, but then checking back on his right foot or then not driving all the way to the by-line because he is not comfortable there. Azpilicueta has no business playing on the wrong flank when Filipe Luis is in our squad.
  14. Nice to see you've joined the party, Chels. There's no reasoning with Mourinho and his acolytes, unfortunately.
  15. Mourinho is responsible for preparing the team mentally as well. The defensive errors are as a result of a poor mental approach to a big game, a combination of fear and cautiousness. The reality is (1) Not for the first or last time this season, we've looked worse after the half time team talk than before it. (2) Anytime a result is in our favour against a good team, we retreat to our shells and surrender possession to them even against 10 players, a'la City and now PSG. It's the manager's job to ensure these things don't happen, but they keep happening time and time again, leading me question the competence of the man in charge.
  16. This lad's behaviour was disgraceful tonight. I admire his tenacity, but there's a fine line between that and behaving like a fucking thug on a football pitch. He needs anger management classes.
  17. The key bit was why are we trying to press a team with 10 players? Shouldn't we be the ones dominating the possession? Why was Hazard still so deep in our half vs 10 man PSG? Why did we never try to go for the killer goal to finish off the tie? Mourinho is cautious so his players have become cautious.
  18. Maybe they already have that wired into them by the manager, like the old Chelsea. That was already evident all the way back vs United this season. Last season too. We score a goal and the players are scared to death to force the issue. Personally I prefer to blame the manager for the cowardly and pathetic performance in the 1st leg. The fact there are games we play were we don't even try to win is a disgrace for a big team. Pellegrini said we play like a small team and the cunt was right.
  19. What's even more amazing is how quick he'll throw his players under the bus i.e our strikers and even Hazard last season, but will never take blame for his poor tactics.
  20. It's not just about preference. That's all he's good at. Many people are blinded by the amount of goals his team scored in the 11/12 season, but ask any Madrid fan, they were not happy with the football in his 3 year spell in general. Do you really believe playing attacking football is not part of the job description given to him by Abramovich? That's very important to him and for the image of the club and rightly so.
  21. Oscar was one of our best players tonight. He's so underrated, we all just can't see it yet.. Being a great attacking midfielder is not just about being a good passer and dictating the tempo. His defensive contribution is unparalleled for a number 10. He's really the best we could hope for at this moment. I don't see another attacking midfielder out there who could do a better job for us!
  22. He never knew how, I'm certain of that. From what I've heard some of his players play, from what I've read and from what I've seen of his team. Every manager has areas they are strong at. For instance, Brendan Rodgers is extremely strong at coaching attacking football, but not great at coaching defensive football. The same is partly true of Pellegrini and Wenger. Some are more balanced like Guardiola. When you're a doyen of defensive organisation and the pressing game and all of a sudden you tell your players to go "express themselves" in attack, it means you don't know how and simply just relying on the quality of your attackers to see you through. Problem with that is against teams equally as good as you, that's not enough.
  23. The differences between Ferguson and Mourinho, in my opinion.: (1) Ferguson always re-invented himself with the times. Mourinho has failed to re-invent himself and the times have passed him by. This is very evident as he just recycles the same tactics vs any big team we face and simply relies on the quality of the team to dispose of the lesser sides we face. This is not just re-invention in terms of tactics alone, but in terms of man management and so on. (2) Ferguson was never afraid to shake up his back room staff if he felt his team were stagnating, be it with Queiroz, McClaren or Walter Smith. Ferguson was also willing to play a secondary role and let his sides pick up different ideas from these guys. Ferguson was the manager in every sense of the word. Jose is both the main coach and the manager. Mourinho wants to be hands on about everything, he's the one that prepares the team tactically for every match, the only thing he doesn't do is scout the opposition. He's hardly ever added to his core group of back room staff, so it's the same ideas in his coaching from even his Porto days.
  24. He has to, if he doesn't want to get the sack again. Just go back and listen to the Fabregas pre-match press conference, he knows the deal. Besides defensive organisation, Mourinho has nothing to offer this team in attack. All the other stuff he was good at in the past, pressing , mental coaching, counter-attacking football. It's all gone now. We've only scored 2 goals from the counter this season. Our players look mentally weak in the biggest game of our season, despite playing vs 10 men for 90 + mins without their best player and us having an entire week to prepare, luxuries PSG didn't have. I'm absolutely pissed by the way we play football. Robben, Hazard have all said Mourinho simply tells the attackers to go out and "express themselves", well that's not good enough! We need some coaching for organised attacks, not just for organised defending. This is our greatest problem.
  25. "How is it Mourinho's fault" then "our passing was slow and ponderous" Need I say anymore? Who the fuck fault is that that our passing was slow and ponderous? Who the fuck fault is that that we played the first leg like absolute cowards and should have been absolutely hammered 4-0?Who the fuck fault is that, that with all our flair players, we struggle to create simple organised attacks? Rodgers at Liverpool does it with far less.Who the fuck fault is that, that we got outclassed by 10 men in our own stadium for 90+ minutes? Who the fuck fault is that, that we look far worse after half time than in the first half? Not for the first time this season. Remember City at the Bridge? The excuse from Mourinho's worshipers was that we had only 4 days rest and extra time and blah blah, but Liverpool play the exact same team + Toure and outclass them, in the same conditions that we had! Of course, none of these things things have nothing to do with the manager! It's the players fault. It's the players fault our football is so shit. It's their fault that we defend for our lives and rely on luck and set-pieces vs any half decent team we face, despite having the strongest squad in the country. Fabregas warned about this game in his press conference (watch it on Youtube), the tactics (the ONLY tactics) that will be employed by Mourinho. He knew the deal. I know the deal. It's time for Mourinho's worshippers to get their heads out his ass and also know the deal. Mourinho has run out of ideas and needs to re-invent himself, first with an ATTACKING coach to work with his staff. He's only relying on his reputation now.
