The numbers don't line up. There was talk of Fofana going to a team in France for £5m (a joke valuation either way). That fee is three times that. Reason I dislike almost every transfer account on X.

They've made a number of questionable decisions since taking over, but they've done far more good than bad in recent windows. It just feels like they haven't got their priorities right with this one.

I have no idea why the board has such an obsession with him. We are just funding United's business. If this meant the former was a makeweight for Jackson, I'd be more understanding. Just feel there are so many alarm bells surrounding Garnacho; a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
-
That was prior to his CWC "heroics". There's no doubt his stock has risen within the club.

Wissa, yeah. If you've watched Samu, you'll know he's far too raw for a top side (might never turn into much). One match doesn't define a player. If you watched Donnarumma during Italy's Euros triumph or PSG's CL 24/25 campaign, you'll know these two names shouldn't even be in the same sentence. Sanchez deserves his dues for his CWC final performance but that's it. I'm not sure where from. Every time I've seen him play for either Japan or Parma, he's been a mess. Reminds me of Onana. If you wait, you'll find out. If losing out on him meant Rogers/Yildiz were to join instead, I wouldn't be fussed about this news.

I thought he had four. Either way, they were willing to offer Isak his own private plan. Maybe Sterling can work something out 😄
-
No club in Europe*. He isn't what he was once, but I'm very surprised a Saudi team haven't made a statement by signing a big name English player.

I agree. I still feel the odd player should have buy-back clauses should they really blow up. George probably being one of them, so the rumours materialise to something more.
-
I really thought he'd have a chance here with the lack of holding mids in our squad. Still remember his goal in preseason against Inter.
-
All you need to do is look back at what happened to Sala. As you said, it isn't worth taking the risk at all.
-
Did they do background checks on his brother as well? 🙄

Over the course of two years, he made 27 appearances for Liverpool but only managed one goal. After a poor start to his Premiership career, he has undoubtedly succeeded in establishing himself. But let's not forget that before making the move, he appeared to have the world at his feet after winning the Golden Ball at the U-20 World Cup in 2017. In the eight years since, he has only made three appearances for the national team. He only turns 28 in September, so time is just about still on his side, but at this point, I think most people who saw him breakthrough at the academy or after his exploits at said WC would say they were hoping for more from him. However, I do agree that he's still a Cobham success story, though. Every player who makes a name for themselves in Europe's major leagues should be seen as one.

I guess we'll see at the end of the season should both players remain that their respective clubs.

George is 19, Ngumoha turns 17 in a month's time. The latter has time on his side and with Chiesa & Diaz going, he'll have far more chance of breaking into their PL squad and possibly more. I believe George will find it much harder to get gametime this season without the Conference League unless Gittens proves to be a bust (I really hope not).

As @Pizy said, he wanted to move. You can't really do much at that point. I still feel it's far too early to come to any conclusion whether he can be added to that list or not. Solanke was the last youngster (of note) that joined them from us and look how that panned out.
-
Based on what's being said about him, he could be a real star.
-
He's been right so far with most of his calls. Time will tell if Delap & Gittens deliver as well.
-
That just enforces Barca potential need for another GK. A novice GK at this level and a GK who was retired recently.
-
I personally feel like there will still be heavy rotation. Ter Stegen & Szczesny (recently signed an extension) aren't going to play with their thumbs. We know what Barca are like as well. If they could shift one of them, I wouldn't put it past them to at least sniff around the opportunity.
-
If Donnarumma is going to go from a CL winner to no CL football at all, it won't be to better his career.
-
It feels like us & Barca are the only two major clubs in Europe who are really in need of a first choice GK. I just feel this move would be a massive roadblock for Penders, whom the club think very highly of.
-
It goes to show how much Cucu has turned things around after a less than impressive debut season with us that he's probably viewed as an untouchable now. His clearances in the semi and final won't be forgotten anytime soon either.
-
He wanted to leave because he couldn't break into their team?
-
Seems like people are forgetting he was a PSG player for three years, and they were still happy to let him go. I understand people can not shine at one team & flourish elsewhere, but I feel his time there should be insightful. Rogers & Yildiz are far more appealing to me. Unlike years ago, player power is crazy. If he delivers and top sides come after him, clubs can't really do anything. All you need to do is look at the Isak situation (three years left on his contract).
-
I feel someone like DCL would be Wilson's replacement. Wissa only scored four goals fewer than Isak in the league, btw.
