Everything seemed to indicate that the owners wanted to cash in a while back to then end up making this outlay. It's difficult to imagine them not adding more trophies this season if they do obtain Isak as well. Wirtz is what Havertz was for us a few seasons ago. A potential WC player that would make any team better. If they somehow actually add Isak to the mix, they are addressing their major issues. Also, I don't think enough is being made of their GK signing from last year, Mamardashvili. Having a backup that can actually fill the void when Allison isn't available (becoming more of a regular thing) could help them massively was the worse to happen. In regard to their key players, if Salah can reach even reach half of his tally from last season (hard to see given the providers they've added, but there's the AFCON) and VVD is solid again, this will be a non-issue. That's it. This sort of business would have been expected had Salah & VVD left. They immediately replaced TAA, had a goalkeeper lined up from last year, and have improved on areas they've been lacking.

Liverpool are just spending for fun. As much as some might be envious of them, that's how you stay on top rather than resting our your laurels. Still gives me flashbacks of our last league title under Conte, where he demanded real investment and got nothing.

I'm concerned that we might make the mistake of going after Garnacho once more. A leopard never changes its spots, as the saying goes. If we go through a difficult time, he or his "little brother" will only cause unnecessary drama, and the price that has been speculated is absurd.

Jackson isn't going to accept being third choice. The ideal scenario would be a swap for Rogers with rumours that Emery wants to be reunited with him.

I still feel another GK is needed. Sanchez & Jorgensen for another season doesn't fill me with the greatest confidence.

Has he ever played a professional game there, though? We definitely won't have a chance of trialling such things in games with no Conference League.

There are some players I sense just aren't to Maresca's liking, he being one of them. Veiga played 15 times for Juve as a CB, something that isn't very unlikely to happen here.

Chilwell, Veiga, or Gusto at LB. They are the options we currently have. There's still so many question marks surrounding a number of players who could still do a job if needed.

How different things might have been had they beaten Spurs. I'm still not sold on Amorim, tbh. He might have only been in charge for a few months, but just at the stark contrast between his impact & Pereira at Wolves.
