It's not how good Giroud is overall but rather what he offers. I think City desperately need that type of striker for certain games. They should bring back Dzeko

One thing we do have and City don't is Giroud. They can't play long balls and bypass the Pool press because Aguero is like 4 feet tall. We can do that because Giroud is arguably top5 in the world when it comes to winning aerial battles. If that works properly then Pool midfield will have to run back and forth even more than usual and they will run out of gas after 60 minutes or so Really excited to see how this game will pan out!!

I don't know mate, I think you might be underestimating Kovacic's defensive abilities. If we was playing 4-2-3-1, I'd be more than happy to play Jorgy-Kova pivot for example. There is still so much to see from him and I feel that to his standards his performances have been mediocre thus far. If he hits that top gear he'll be unstoppable, the complete player excelling both offensively and defensively. And yeah, I agree with you last point. If Kante ends up starting against teams like West Ham from now on Sarri has to make sure he's not the furthest one forward.

Yes, that would indeed mean Kante not starting. He's obviously incredibly important member of the squad but that doesn't mean he has to start every game against lesser sides in the league. Barkley-Jorginho-Kovacic would offer more going forward.
