If you look how Hamsik played at Napoli under Sarri, he was basically playing as a second forward at times, running into space etc. Barkley in theory should be a good fit to play that LCM position but for some reason it just isn't happening

Doesn't matter who's the manager, this group of players would be unhappy. For once we should trust the manager and get rid of the unperforming players instead Selling Hazard might not be the worst idea after all. He's at his peak now and honestly I think he's too laid back to be the number one player at any club. He's the complete opposite of star player like Ronaldo who would whip his whole team after a defeat. Great player of course but he shouldn't be the lone star attacking player at this club because people are expecting stuff from him that he will simply not be able to produce

What we need is another midfielder with world class vision and passing ability to play next to Jorginho. It's a shame that Cesc-Jorginho-Kante/Kovacic midfield didn't really get a chance to play together

Look at clips of Napoli under Sarri and then look at clips from our recent games. Several things are currently still lacking in this Sarri Chelsea such as runs in behind from the player in the Hamsik role (Barkley and particularly Kovacic play far too defensive), technically capable right back, a striker that scores goals, quality left back and in-form Jorginho. Most importantly, the tempo you seen in Napoli games is galaxies apart from what you seen in our games. With the proper tempo and intensity also lacks runs from third players that would allow more direct and quicker transitions from central midfield to attacking third. Why are still playing so slow football? You'd think the players would have already learned each others' positions by heart and could therefore also play quicker one-touch football. Players like Kante, Azpilicueta, Willian, Kovacic, Barkley and Alonso never play one-touch passing and instead always hog the ball for a while and turn promising attacks in to nothing. Neither does Jorginho though at the moment, which is weird considering that's his biggest asset. He only does one touch pass when passing sideways or backwards and avoids those quick vertical passes he got famous for at Napoli. Higuain will undoubtedly give some much needed confidence and could potentially save our season and secure finish in the top4. However, it's clear that changes have to be made and several new players have to be bought both this window and particularly during the summer. Sarriball is still far away from reality and will remain so as long as these current players keep playing. Back-up to Jorginho (who has been playing far too many games this season and without proper competition), another playmaking and free-scoring CM/CAM like Coutinho/James, RB and LB need to bought as soon as possible. Perhaps some players of the loan army or youth academy (Aina/Baba/Reece James, Mount etc.) could fill some of those positions?

It's not just when he's under pressure right now, he even screws up the simple thru balls and passes that he would completed at Napoli with ease. He's clearly in a bad moment right now and needs a break and some more competition in his position

Only way we can know if Emerson truly is so bad that he cant bench Alonso or if Sarri is just blind to the donkeyness of Alonso is if Alonso gets injured for a long time. I'd bet that Sarri would play Azpi there instead of Emerson.

Their club is sponsored by a country so it cannot be compared. It's like those Middle Eastern airlines, they never turn any profit (quite the opposite actually) but they still keep on spending more money on new things in a way other market-driven Western airlines can't do

70k for a 18 year old is ridiculous. These kids get paid too much way too early. Some kind of American style wage cap should be introduced Maybe I'm too old school but I believe that players of that age should be washing the cars of their managers, doing the laundry of the first team etc. There's also a perfectly good reason why that's precisely the age when historically speaking young people have done their military service – it's a crucial period in building character and becoming a balanced adult. Give them 70k a week at that age and all you get is a complacent man child.

Surely now that PSG has joined the race his price is going up. Does it really make sense to buy him for what could become +40m when we got perfectly good backup in Ampadu already in the team? Because that's what Paredes would probably also become, a backup and not a competitor to Jorginho since everyone knows that Jorginho has a special place in Daddy Maurizio's heart
