I guess this was expected, Alonso starting after Emerson playing 2 games in 4 days. However, this is Azpi's 4th full game in 9 days, surely he needs a rest at some point?

We really need to get rid of these 'contigents'. Only large group that should exist at an English club is the group of English players. Nothing good comes if a third of the squad is Spanish or French or Italian or Portuguese speaking. There should be a diverse group of players from different nationalities so they are all forced to communicate in the local language. And besides, none of those players is good enough to start right now so they should all be benched.

I think he has improved a lot this season, just a real shame he has been injured so often. He has looked devastating on the pitch which is something new, before he came across as little too complacent and shy player

Most worrying part for me still is the state of communication. What was Zola doing and the rest of the staff? What was Azpi and the senior players doing? Regardless of who's the manager and who's in goal, this would not have happened if Steve Holland and JT were still here. How does the club go about in fixing this? Language does play a big role and is just one of the reasons why we desperately need an English core right now, both on and off the pitch

I believe there was an incident earlier in the season between Sarri and Azpilicueta on the training ground. For a good time now I've lived under the impression that Azpi is one of the anti-Sarri players in the squad. Why he still is the captain remains a mystery

Like him or not but his distribution from the back is just too important for us right now. There's literally no player in the world who can replace him in that part

Deserved so much more from this game. The way the game ended was an absolute disgrace and thats 100% down to the players. Sarri got it spot on tonight
