Awesome start to the weekend! We go stronger with every minute and controlled the game from 30' onwards. Matic really dominated midfield and beyond. Great run by Azpilicueta. Hazard had some great looks. Should have buried at least one, probably should have passed on the other. Costa, right place at the right time as always and the finish! Great hustle all day. Great way to end the run before the next break. Time for Southampton and City to lose on the same day! Enjoy the day my Blues brothers! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Oh, happy day!

I am pumped and ready to see some Blues kick some Reds scum!! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Correct, but he still trained and traveled all over Brazil. Heck, he rarely has played a full match for Chelsea
-
Okay, after some piddly performances, it is time for the lads to put it all together Saturday. We need a top performance to get out by a couple of early goals to keep the pressure on. They are clearly putting a lot into this "pay back" match by resting so many starters vs Real Madrid. Get all three Saturday and things set up nicely through the holidays and end of the year. It would be nice to start January 1st with a nice lead in the table. As someone else said, the early kick either sets up for a wonderful weekend after a win followed by watching other results or a long weekend with a loss. It will be interesting to see which lineup Jose chooses for this one. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

What has happened to Andre? World Cup fatigue kicking in? He played so well in Brazil. I had high hopes and now he seems a little lost. Disappointed.
-
If so, then they can piss off. I mean really, our worst two performances all season have been in their building and we still walk away with 2 points. Bahahahahhahaha Perfect in all of the rest. We're top of the league. Sing it Blues!! :getin: :getin:

Yes. A thousand times, yes.

The late yellow on Ivanovic was rubbish. I am still looking for contact. Suppose there was a "blink of an eye" clinking of boots, but c'mon, yellow? Really? This no no doubt led to rebound goal for RVP. Frustrating not to get the three points, but looking at the nine games as a whole, already played road matches at City and United, 6 points clear of City with a home match with them in the second half helps tremendously. In the "way to early to look ahead" look ahead to the remaining fixtures, City has most of the top 5 clubs on the road and Chelsea typically has them at home, not counting Southampton and West Ham at top 5 clubs yet obviously. 7-2-0 after 9. Four points clear of Southampton, six of City, seven of West Ham, nine of Arsenal and Liverpool and ten of ManU. What's not to like? Ending of today's match was just painful, BUT moving right along. Let's get Costa back and our red card causalities back and keep on marching to the title!! Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Ok, enough with the build up, lets get this kicked off! I'm looking for Drogba to show some old flashes of brillance, but we win because of Fabregas and Matic today. I'll say 4-2 Blues, Fabregas, Luis, Oscar and Drogba. Come on you Chelsea!!
-
If Costa is out, then I would be okay with Schurrle up front. Coincidentally, Schurrle played there for last year's match at Old Trafford. However, I would not expect us to park the bus this time around. With Fabregas, Oscar, etc behind Schurrle, he will be just fine in my opinion. Let's bury these guys and put them 13 points behind us and out of their misery. Come on you Chelsea! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

My kind of result. Love it! I know we totally out matched the competition tonight (anyone else do a double take at times since Maribor was wearing basically our away kit?), but great to see the club come out and just stomp someone from start to finish. Never saw this last year. Hazard was everywhere it seemed and glad to see him "get in" a couple of times. Remy's injury only bad news from the night. Word on his injury? Looked like a groin, which can linger. No excuses for not winning this group. Basically comes down to the match at Schalke on 25th November, Come on you Chelsea! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Good result, and that is the bottom line. I thought Oscar had a fabulous match. He has looked much better so far this year. Hazard disappointed at times, especially with the one give away pass in our own end. Cesc was Fabregas-tic. Dave got a little out of control. Matic seemed to be everywhere and should have scored one. Terry had a near miss as well. Luis looked a little rusty, but that could be expected. Not meant as a jab at Remy, but it was almost like "did he play?" when compared to when Costa is on the pitch. You know where Costa is every second of a match. The guy is constantly moving and usually with an attack slant. Remy was very unsure of himself and not very active in my opinion. I say lets rest Diego for Man U and not play him Tuesday. Never really felt the result was in doubt, controlled the midfield well and shut them down when needed for the most part. A win is a win is a win is a win is a win is a win, blah blah blah blah. Top of the table after 8 matches by 5 points mates! I'll take it every time. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

I'll switch it up a little. I would like to see: Courtois Ivanovoc Cahill Terry Dave Fabregas Matic Willian Oscar Hazard Costa Let's pick right up where we left off before the seemingly two-month break and bring the big stick! Blues win 4-0 with goals from Terry, Costa (of course), Hazard and Remy as a sub. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Could not agree more. Very interesting insight and somehow, Gary seemed to get more than the one liners and bards from Jose you see so often, but actually had an in-depth and insightful interview. Well done.

What a great day! Always a happy day when Chelsea can beat those Gooners! Oscar and Hazard really came to play. Costa with a great finish and thought the back line looked more like its old self today. Glad to see Petr Cech get some time, but not this way. Hope Courtois is okay, which initial reports say he will be. Best of all was watching Mourinho tell Wenger where he can go. The Gooners just hate Jose (and who wouldn't if you were owned by the other coach as well ), which made it double the fun! Jo-se Mour-inho! Jo-se Mour-inho! Three more points and five points clear. Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Cannot wait for this match. Need the guys focused and ready to take it to them early like last year. I prefer Schurrle Oscar Hazard behind Costa for this one. Hazard may get his chance to shine in this one and the club needs it. Let's get the 3 points, have Spurs take out Southampton and be at least 5 points clear of everyone by Sunday night and enjoy the break Come on you Chelsea! :blue scalf:
-
Really would like to see Luis get some action and have to admit, I feel Cech deserves a match or two that is not League Cup early stages. Would love to see Petr get the nod in Lisbon. Though this is a 3 point must for the group, why not start Remy and bring on Costa later if needed? Guess that didn't work so well vs Schalke with Drogba. I would like to see Hazard have a MoTM performance. Come on you Chelsea! :blue scalf:
-
I agree 100%. Love this lineup. Need to come out early and establish supremacy and not let Villa hang around. Come on you Chelsea!

About to wrap up the day. And what a day it has been. Watching our Chelsea come to life in the second half like we all dream of. This team is pure magic when everyone is tuned in. Hazard can force a defender anywhere he wants when one on one and then like a wizard and a wand, he creates opportunities. Fabresgas has a vision and touch that I have not seen duplicated. Oh, and for desert, Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool all fail to get three points today. Diego Costa! Diego Costa! Diego Costa! Nothing more to say about today's effort from 19! But this team is much more than these guys. But they have brought everyone's game up I do believe. Defense has lacked at times, glaringly. But the wide open attach plays some role, but we need to tighten up as we head to the winter months for sure. Thought Oscar really hustled and looked more energized than normal. Happy to see Remy score first time out. This team is pure joy at the moment. Stay thirsty my fellow supporters and players! It's a long way to titles and trophies in May and June (Uefa CL final in June 2015). Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf: (four scarves for four goals and four victories out of four matches)

The title is already ours to lose
-
Diego Costa! Diego Costa! Diego Costa! Diego Costa! And some were questioning this signing in the summer. Ha ha ha ha. Come on you Chelsea!! All hail Costa!!
-
Costa!! Turning up the heat!! Come on you Chelsea!!
-
Kick off now fast approaching. Though the line up has been working, and really hate to mess with it and take either Dave or Brana out, I would like to see Luis get some quality minutes and get the start. "If" Costa cannot give it a go, whom do you prefer? Remy or Drogba? Remy is the longer term answer as the season goes on, as a relief role, but for this one, let's get Didier in there I say. This has the makings of a special season. Really want us to keep putting distance between us and number two every week. Predicted starting XI: - - - - - - Courtois - - - - - - Luis - Cahill - JT - Dave - - - Fabregas - Matic - - - - Hazard - Oscar - Schurrle - - - - - - Diego Costa - - - - - Chelsea wins 3-0: Hazard, Schurrle, Fabregas. Courtois MoTM Come on you Chelsea! :blue scalf:

Lost in all of the numerous highlights was the great run by Hazard. Though it goes down as an OG, Hazard did another one of his signature moves in the box to blow past past the defender and create some magic. This goal and the one by Ramires was quick and precise. Come on you Chelsea! :blue scalf:
